Page 20 PART ONE – Darkness to Light (cont.) Particle – Provision Precisely Prepared One day, at my next home, I found that the rent of $70 for my light housekeeping room was coming due, and I had no money. It happened to be due on my birthday, April 1. In the mail, I found a $50 gift from my mother, and Marilyn Coles, a university student from the Bible school, came over for supper the night before and gave me $20, which she said the Lord moved her to give me. She knew nothing about my due rent or lack of finances. There was the $70. Who says there is no God? The Lord reigns over all things, unbelieving mothers, friends, birthdays, timing, mathematics… everything. Particle – “Ask Me, Not Man” Now the Lord taught me another lesson, and that was not to ask for, or expect, financial help or support from anyone at any time. I had asked one of my former friends and home-owning partner, Dave Miller, if he would be willing to support me in Bible school. I was refused, fairly and understandably so. When I first became a believer, my mother's cousin Aunt Hazel Chute of Dauphin expressed joy and thankfulness for it. She promised me that if I ever decided to go to Bible school or seminary, all I had to do was ask, and they would help me financially. She and her husband, Melburn, professed faith in Christ. Months later, I asked them, and they didn't help me. They didn't offer any explanation other than not being able to afford it. I quickly learned t...

Page 2 PART SIX– Harvest Haven to Surprise Visitors (cont.) Particle – The Farm Buys Us We took possession of the 80-acre market farm on October 1, 1995, and Archie and his family moved in. A killer frost came in on Sept. 23rd, a week before possession, and destroyed whatever saleable or usable crops there were, including strawberries, raspberries, and other fruits and vegetables, from which we could have received some income to defray our expenses. The Mokoskis had also buried some of the root vegetables, unwilling to leave anything for us. But none of it was organic, so it didn't matter. Particle – Fortunes Make a Fortune on the Unfortunate We had little idea what was in store for us. We were overwhelmed and sorely tried from the very beginning. The Mokoskis had purchased the farm from the Fortunes in 1982, having owned it for about 13 years. The Fortunes had built the house themselves in 1977, with little knowledge or skill. They did a poor job of it in many respects, yet charged the Mokoskis an exorbitant price for the poor quality at a time when real estate values were at a peak. Then values plummeted. Obviously, this didn't sit well with the Mokoskis. We were to learn that they were “thrifty,” partially perhaps because burned in the transaction, but mostly by nature, cutting corners everywhere, most of which we would be required to rectify. Cheap is not good. The house needed more bedrooms and bathrooms for Archie's family and major repair...

Page 6 PART SEVEN – Surprise Visitors to Day 888 (cont.) Particle – The Break Ever since Ernie Chadwick related his vision in 1976 and prophesied to me of a break coming in my life saying I was not to fear, I often thought I had experienced the fulfillment of his vision. When Mickey and Lynn left us later in 1976 and we uprooted to Dauphin, I thought that was the break Ernie had spoken of. When we sold all that we had and were taken to Israel in 1979, I thought again it was the break prophesied. When we were suddenly forced out of Winnipeg in 1981 when Paul's parents came after us, I thought it was that break. When the handyman business was cut short in 1983, and we were to flee to the US, it seemed to be the break. When business consulting stopped suddenly in 1984, soon followed by a cry for help from Delores and Lois for spiritual ministry, I thought it was the prophesied break. When the Moon River Estates executive “killed” us on November 10, 1989, and we were much alone, I again believed it to be that break. When we abruptly pulled out of the stock market in 1995, apparently prematurely, and put our savings in the farm, before the promise of God was fulfilled in terms of quadrupling our investment, I thought surely it was now the break. It certainly was a strange and disconcerting situation, pulling out just as we were beginning to recuperate losses. Seven uprootings in all. Only months before this point in 1998, I experienced peace fo...
