Page 11 PART TEN - The Issues of Life (cont.) Particle - Larry Spencer Resurfaces Around December 3, 2003, we heard in the news that Larry Spencer, whom we met through Henry Blackaby in our Baptist work in Regina in 1974, had been expelled by Stephen Harper from the federal conservative Canadian Alliance party caucus for making remarks about homosexuals. I called him and we talked. I shared our website with him, expecting that as a Baptist minister, he would disagree with much of the content. Later, I found his public apology of November 27 and wrote him. Here is the letter and apology, to which I received no reply: December 4, 2003 Hi, Larry and Sue, I opened up the Alliance newsletter they send by email and found your apology in it. Then I recalled that I wanted to express my disagreement with at least part of it: "I apologize for linking the homosexual community with pedophilia. I was wrong to draw such an inference." "I apologize to my colleague Svend Robinson [homosexual Member of Parliament]. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Robinson as both an individual and as a parliamentarian." First, I do agree that not all homosexuals can be accused of pedophilia, at least not directly. Therefore, from a technical, legal, and political perspective, you were speaking unadvisedly. However, you and I both very well know that the two sins, according to Scripture, are more than close cousins. When God gives men over to the lusts of the flesh, as you said the night of our...

Page 12 PART TWO – Pentecost to Israel (cont.) Particle – Poverty a State of Mind It was a lesson in who is rich and who is poor, and it was a lesson in giving. How is it the poor despised what we gave and those with more enjoyed it and were thankful? Jesus said: “For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will abound. But from him who has not, even that which he has shall be taken away from him” (Matthew 25:29 MKJV). We became very discriminating as to whom we would give. We learned that while some were poor in pocket, they were also poor in understanding and gratitude. On the other hand, there are those who have more of this world's goods, but are poor in spirit, like Joseph of Arimathea, for example (Luke 23:50-53). To give to some poor was clearly a waste and to give to some apparently rich could be rewarding. Not that reward is what giving is all about. We would have several other lessons over the years to bring these truths home in different ways. Particle – The Appearance of Marriage God was also teaching us the difference between marriages put together by men, even with license, ceremony, and celebration, and those made in Heaven, even though common-law. Not that all formal marriages are wrong or all common-law marriages right. But there are such things as “formal fornication” with papers and informal marital unions without papers. We would learn this big time in a few years. Particle – Marilyn Running with Faith...

PART EIGHT– Day 888 to Victory Man of Sin 2 February 25, 2000 Today I could do little more than sit, ponder, pray, and meditate. I then decided in mid-afternoon to go for a walk, expecting to hear. I heard. In this Day of the Lord, in the judgment of His Church, which we are, He is “flushing out” (revealing - 2 Thessalonians 2) the man of sin in each of us. Our secret thoughts and motivations of the carnal nature are being exposed for all to see. The man of sin could settle for nothing less than being God and having His glory, honor, power, authority, praise, and preeminence above all things. As Joseph was taken and rejected by his brothers, the chosen of God, while his father's heart mourned and yearned for him, so I was rejected by my brothers. They will deny it until it's revealed to them. It is kept from them until all is fulfilled. “But we don't hate you… we aren't your enemies!” they say. Your man of sin does hate me, is my enemy, and he was the one who has had the say. I've been separated, excluded, and ignored, even to the extent that my wife has left me and chosen another. (All this to deal with MY man of sin). Terrible have been our battles, horrible has been her bitterness toward me, accompanied numerous times with snarling, gnashing of teeth, hatred, argument, rebellion, and boasting in another life, another love, and interests excluding me. She has rejected me as husband and companion these nearly five years. And all these things have I had coming to me ...
