Nobody Is Saved Unless God Chooses

Hello my name is Jorge, I have been reading some of you articles on your website, and I’ve been wondering about predestination, is there predestination? Did God just choose a few to be saved(elect), or did God just know who was going to believe Him? And What exactly happens to the unbelievers in The lake of Fire?

Hi Jorge,

You ask: “Did God just choose a few to be saved (elect), or did God just know who was going to believe Him?

Jesus said: “Many are called, but few are chosen.” This is according to God’s will and doing. It’s not a matter of only a few people being good enough to believe and make it. It’s very clear in the Scriptures that none believe:

Romans 3:9-19 ESV
(9) What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin,
(10) as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;
(11) no one understands; no one seeks for God.
(12) All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”
(13) “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” “The venom of asps is under their lips.”
(14) “Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”
(15) “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
(16) in their paths are ruin and misery,
(17) and the way of peace they have not known.”,
(18) “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
(19) Now we know that whatever the Law says it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.

No one comes to God and believes in Him except He gives them the faith and grace to do so:

“No one can come to Me unless the Father Who has sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:44 MKJV).

“Being confident of this very thing, that He Who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6 MKJV).

The Scriptures also say that God isn’t willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). He is in perfect control, working all things for the ultimate good of all.

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father” (Matthew 10:29 ESV).

Here are some writings that more thoroughly answer your questions. May God give you grace to believe Him and to give Him the glory.

Yeah the articles help. It’s just really hard for me to believe that God will in His own time will save all, because of all the arguments I hear against Him doing that. And that fact that I have lost all desire for God (if I had any) last year. I’m just trying to figure things out. I would like to believe He will save all but it is difficult.

Jorge, you lost your human desire for God in order to make way for His desire for you. You won’t know His will and power to save all until you’re saved from yourself. This salvation comes by His gift of Repentance, whereby you’ll know Him by coming out of the darkness and walking with Him in the light. This is the true knowledge of God, not your carnal comprehension of doctrine.

Hello again,

I read the article you sent, so one thing that I got is only certain people that God chose beforehand can repent? And everyone will be saved but in their own time Is this correct? Is it ok if I send you some questions? Like I said I’m trying to figure things out. Thank you in advanced.

Hi Jorge,

Only those given the supernatural gift of repentance are able to repent. It is a real change of life, something entirely beyond man’s power. Read Victor Hafichuk’s Testimony.

God will bring all men to repentance because that is His long term will. He’s not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9), and yes, every man in his order (1 Cor. 15:23). Read The Restitution of All Things.
Send your questions, Jorge.

Victor

Jorge, as long as they continue to commit the sin, they cannot be forgiven.
