Jesus Christ Solves All Problems—Theorizing Does Not

Subject: I need help.

Good morning Victor. I have grown up in and out of Church. I was saved at a young age, but had backslidden. While backslidden, I married my first husband who had been a believer but started leaning more towards buddhism.

We were married for about 7 years and were absolutely miserable. Both of us were adulterous and our marriage was never grounded in the word of God. We divorced after 7 years.

I later remarried to my second husband Jonathan.

Jonathan is a believer who had been abandoned by his first wife  because she ran off with another man. She is of catholicism, but doesn’t hold to her faith. They divorced. My question is is our marriage valid? Was my first marriage ever valid in the eyes of God? What do I do to rectify this situation?

I have faced MANY judgments for my backsliding and tremendous sins  and that is to include losing custody of my children. I have a child that is rebellious with my current husband. He is a direct reflection of the things I have done. I want to please God, but I don’t know what to do.

Please help me.

Thank you,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

You need to build on an established and sure foundation and there’s only one such – the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are to be saved, you can only place your faith in Him; not in a church organization, priest or pastor or anything or anyone else. From there, by His grace and leading, you’ll be enabled to build and make decisions that will pull you out of your complicated situation. He will do it all.

Jesus Christ can fix anything, Jennifer, no matter how broken or far gone. Consider that He raised Himself from the dead. Death is far gone as it gets, isn’t it? If a grave can’t prevent Him, what can? Jesus said He IS the Resurrection. He has proven His words to us in this world in undeniable terms. So there IS hope, for sure.

By the way you seem to define believing and being a Christian, I don’t see that you or either of your spouses or their spouses was a BIBLICAL Christian – Catholic, yes, or some other denomination, yes, but Christian as known in the Scriptures, no.

Your situation is certainly like being in a maze with no known way out. You’ll never find your way unless you take the one right path of Truth – and there is only one. Only Jesus Christ will make you free:

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32 MKJV).

“Therefore if the Son [Jesus Christ] shall make you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36 MKJV).

So rather than trying to figure things out or regroup or reorganize, you need to come to the Living Christ Jesus and lay your burdens there at His feet. This begins with repentance and confession of yourself as a sinner. You need to get honest with God and be prepared to obey Him and do the right thing in all matters. We are here as His ambassadors to serve however He directs for you.

You ask whether one man is your legitimate husband or not. At this point, it doesn’t matter. You need to get right with your Lord and Savior. Believing, you’ll know all you need to know and will be led to green pastures and still waters, to peace and safety.

Now the Holy Scriptures of God declare that faith comes by the Word of God, which we preach as those sent by Him. Immerse yourself in our site – read, read and read. There are many writings God has given us to lead to life.

If you have questions, ask and we will reply, Lord willing.

Victor

Why Don't I Feel Saved?
From: Barb To: The Path of Truth Sent: Wednesday, April 13, 2016 5:23 AM Subject: Wow You contradict yourself all throughout this commentary.  One point that makes no sense to me is how you say that God chooses you.  Well how do we know we are chosen? I have been "Christian light" since I was 8.  I have struggled to really feel saved.  I am willing to lay it all down, but have never felt the Holy Spirit. I may not be chosen, according to you. Then you go on to say, keep striving.  Keep searching.  If I'm not chosen, then why strive?   When I tell you I have struggled, I have done everything I can to move closer to God.  I have cried out to him also.  And nothing... Your take on Billy Graham is just plain awful. He may ask you to pray the prayer but he also makes you know that that isn't the end of it.   Barb  From: Paul Cohen and Victor Hafichuk To: Barb Sent: Wednesday, April 27, 2016 7:23 AM Subject: Re: Wow You’re right that you’re not chosen, Barb. If you were chosen you’d know it, because you would know Him – the Lord Jesus Christ. Our assurance and confidence is in Him. You lack this confidence because you don’t know Him. You’re wrong that we would tell you to keep striving or searching. Your striving isn’t of faith, and your searching isn’t for the Lord. This is your kind of striving and searching: “For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they, being ignorant of the righteousness of God...
