Believe the Lord or Believe Lies

Subject: Question

I was reading an article you wrote on John Piper being a false teacher, and I had a question about it. Before I ask the question I would like to make clear that I am familiar with Piper, but do not completely know his doctrine. I have only watched a few short videos of him on youtube. However, your criticism of him as a false teacher revolved around the fact that he preaches about a place of eternal punishment for nonbelievers (Hell) as you can read from your own writing:

One of the biggest and worst lies ever told in manmade Christianity, one that John Piper subscribes to and teaches, is that there is a place of interminable torment and punishment for sinners. Men think to find this doctrine in the Bible, but while it is something the carnal man would wish on others, it is surely not something God has ever said or that ever entered into His mind. He made creation as an act of His love. He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son for it. We are His, bought and paid for by His blood.

I was wondering where you got the idea that there is no hell, based on the fact that there are numerous verses in The Bible – some even spoken by Jesus, whom you believe to be God, as I also do – about the existence of a place of eternal punishment for people who do not believe in Christ. See a few examples, of many, below:

Revelation 21:8

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

Matthew 25:41

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Romans 2:6-8

He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.

Matthew 25:46

And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Revelation 20:15

And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Matthew 10:28

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

2 Thessalonians 1:9

They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

Luke 16:19-31

“There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. …

As much as I do not like the idea of a place of torment for nonbelievers, I have to except the fact that the Lord, whose ways are above mine, has created such a place, and I am nobody to discern what is fair and unfair compared to the all knowing, righteous God.

Court, you write:

I am nobody to discern what is fair and unfair compared to the all knowing, righteous God.

So if you are nobody to discern what’s fair and unfair, then who are you to discern the meaning of God’s Word? Plainly you don’t understand the Scriptures and have no business interpreting the Scriptures or relying on carnal men to do so for you.

For example, men have mistranslated the Greek words you interpret to mean “time without end.” Read The True, Scriptural Meanings of “Forever,” “Everlasting,” and “Hell”. All the Scriptures you cite are plainly answered in our Christ-inspired, Biblically-based writings (The Restitution of All Things). Read them, more than once, with your Bible.

Ask the Lord to open your heart and ears to the truth. But if you want to believe lies, then you will believe lies, because you haven’t received a love of the truth from God, Who has given you over to strong delusion.

Tongues, Dreams, Visions, and Other Gifts
From: Justin To: Victor Hafichuk Sent: Thursday, December 08, 2016 2:23 PM Subject: Baptism in the Holy Spirit Hello Mr Hafichuk! My name is Justin and i have been walking with the Lord for 16 years now and i just discovered your website today. My testimony is very similar to your story in that i repented with my whole heart 16 years ago and have held fast to that repentance and walked with the Spirit for all of these years and have been shown many of the same fallacies of the modern day Christian church as well as the antichrist spirit which leads them.  I would love to write you another email soon and share/fellowship with you in regard to my walk/sufferings with the Lord all of these many years. I wrote you today specifically to see if you would mind answering a question for me about the Baptism in the Holy Ghost. I was shown through revelation of the Promise of the Father many years ago, probably about 9 years ago. I have been seeking this infilling and experience ever since. Carrying my cross and dying to self in the process.  My question is, when you received the Spirit and later spoke in tongues, did the tongues come forth as the Spirit gave utterance? Or was it something that you had to do yourself in order to speak in tongues? I ask because in my younger years in the Lord i was around American churches and people tried to instruct me on how to speak in tongues, they would say repeat the sounds i am making...gibberish, Or say these syllables and now you ar...
Carnal Men Always Fail to Explain their Trinity
From: E.C. To: The Path of Truth Sent: Tuesday, July 12, 2016 11:54 PM Subject: My likely bad questions and misconceived notions. Hello and greetings in Christ our Lord and savior! I happened upon your website today as I was researching Francis Chan. I honestly don't know much about the man. In any case I spent a number of hours reading numerous things on your site and I find myself both delighted and also perplexed. You don't believe in the Trinity? I must confess it is one of the hardest things ever to try and explain to anyone and I see why you would rather just call it blasphemy...but I wonder if maybe it's just miscommunication on mans part to properly explain the person of God. We see Him in scripture clearly as "God the Father, God the Son ,and God the Holy Spirit" yet we also know according to scripture that God is ONE...Jesus said "My Father and I are one"...yet He also said know one comes to the Father but through me...giving a clear picture of distinct separation. Also the Bible says that Jesus intercedes for us...does He intercede on our behalf to Himself? In the Shema or Deuteronomy we see the Lord is One...but then in John we see Jesus as the Word becoming flesh. He is the Word, the creating force in Genesis...but we see a clear picture of all three when He is baptized, Jesus the Son, God the father speaking from heaven and the Dove descending as the Holy Spirit. I believe that God is one and three..all the same. God is Jesus, Jesus is God, God is ...
An Addict's Salvation From Herself and the World
To: The Path of Truth Sent: Monday, July 25, 2016 4:19 AM Subject: May I join the chatroom discussion? Greetings brother Victor. A little about myself. I'm a 33 year old woman from Melbourne Australia. Just under 6 weeks ago I was saved. I was a self professed, very arrogant "atheist" with all manner of addictions the most immediately troubling in my life being cigarettes and marijuana . I was watching footage of the "Orlando shooting" and something deep inside me said " there is something very false about this". I believe God himself opened my eyes in a massive and awesome way. I have stopped smoking both cigarettes and marijuana without cravings, something which I never thought I'd accomplish! I've started reading Scripture starting from the Matthew, and life is changing everyday. I've lived with " mental illness"  (post traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety) all my life as a result of childhood sexual abuse, and other very traumatic events born of sin in my life and demonic influence which I am in desperate need of deliverance from. I live with my parents and a 21 year old sister and 18 year old brother, none of whom are believers and who have been very affected by my past life of sin . This is just a tiny part of my testimony I came across your site because while I've been reading Gods sweet word, I have been going to gotquestions.org in search of some understanding, and stumbled across your site and how it is fal...
