Why We Judge Others

I recently came upon your online site. Ive never came upon a minister whom my beliefs match up to as much as they do your beliefs. Though i am curious about one aspect of your website: you blatantly take upon yourself to judge and be very critical of other people-it seems mostly other pastors from what ive read so far-and they in turn seem to judge and be very critical of you as well. As if you people are concerned in proving each other wrong and that each of you teach the “true” interpretation of Christ.

Isn’t whomever is teaching the true Christ be able to stand alone without injecting hatred? My question Victor is this: why are you so concerned with trying to prove-through scripture-that all the other pastors are scumbags and only you are right about the gospel? Aren’t we supposed to Love our enemys?-given that light and love are the only things to extinguish hate and darkness?

If a man truly has the spirit of Christ then wont they themselves be able to discern the darkness and see false teachers for themselves or are you the only man who has the spirit of christ?

Im not sure you will even read this email-i was excited when i came upon your website Victor-but my concern is that although you seem to be interpreting Christ in the same manner as myself you also seem to be allowing hate to unnecessarily creep into your teachings as well. I do not intend to judge you Victor so i hope you dont think that way. Again-i was thrilled to come upon your wisdom in Christ. Take care and God be with you Victor!

Victor

I sent you the below message a few days ago and i just now realised i was being judgemental of you and for that i sincerely apologise.  I am a sinner in this world as we all are and i really dislike when i judge people. You have a ministry that aligns to my beliefs unlike any other i have encountered before and your words ring true. And although i wonder why ministers need to always tear each other down, trying to prove that theirs is the only “true interpretation” it isnt my lot in life to question why any ministers to do as they do because then i would be treading upon another mans work in Christ. And you my friend  have diligently worked! I saw your youtube videos and you also have a lovely voice and talent for writing. Anyway Victor-i hope i didnt offend you by questioning why you and the other ministers seem to quarrel so much even though i truly wish everybody in this world could all love their neighbors as themselves it would be hypocritical for me to point that out to anybody given that i am unable to do so myself.  Life is truly this simple: God is Love.

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them” (Ephesians 5:11 MKJV).

“Those who sin, rebuke before all, so that the rest also may fear” (1 Timothy 5:20 MKJV).

“Preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2 MKJV).

“Speak these things, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you” (Titus 2:15 MKJV).

“And Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied to these, saying, Behold, the Lord came with myriads of His saints, to do judgment against all, and to rebuke all the ungodly of them concerning all their ungodly works which they ungodly did, and concerning all the hard things ungodly sinners spoke against Him” (Jude 1:14-15 MKJV).

Hi Rick,

It seems you’re being decent about your criticism of me so there is that to say about it, for better or worse, whether a politically correct or earnest attempt at godly civility with the consideration you may be wrong.

Believe it or not, one of my weaknesses, if one may call it that, is to give people benefit of doubt and credit where they are due, no matter who it may be, faithful friend or inveterate, implacable foe. More on that in a few minutes to test your love.

Certainly, no hatred here for persons, Rick, but equally as certainly, no doubt we transmit God’s hatred for evil. Read Matthew 23 and you’ll find the Lord expressing perfect hatred for evildoing. Nor is that an isolated passage in testimony or principle. Read Does God Speak Only Gentle Words?.

An obvious problem is that what you read in our response to others is predominantly to our enemies, to wolves in sheep’s clothing, those who deceive the general believing and unbelieving public into thinking our gainsayers and judges are true Christians. So, it could well appear we are full of hate, which isn’t the case at all. And I now defend myself for your sake and not mine, with the hope the Lord opens your eyes and His perspective catches hold of you so that you might have life abundantly.

You’re right when you say, “Love is all that matters!” Do you love your enemies, Rick? How far do you go with that love? Do you, for instance, love our greatest foe, the Devil? Do you? Does God? We do, and that’s because God loves Him, contrary to prevailing attitudes of orthodox Christianity. Read: Guess Who Appreciates Satan

Did you know that if there’s no hope for Satan, there’s none for you? So the Scriptures testify? Read The Origin and Identity of Satan. You’ll be surprised to discover that contempt for Satan is self-hatred.

Perhaps I’ve given you a different sort of day today, Rick? The Lord’s will and none other be done. Amen.

Victor

Richard, Paul here. We received your second letter and apology after Victor wrote the above reply, but saw no need to amend his reply as you’ll see that no offence was taken. Instead, the Lord has provided for your need.

Dear Paul-

Just a quick reply:Did Victor see/read my apology? I truly felt remorse from my first letter. Thank you

Yes, Richard, I did read it. Did you not read Paul’s note at the end of my letter? Not a problem at this end. How about for you?
