I will continue to read from your site, if God answers your prayers pray for me. Today this was taught at our Church. We got to guard our deliverance. Prevention eliminates the need for cure. We need God to guard you, to protect you, to guide you. God is able to keep you from falling. Some doors need to remain shut. Do not ignore the conviction of God. God is greater than your struggle! You need to learn how to hate your sins. Remember your past, your pain, your shame, what you have came out of, in this way you can learn to hate your sins and with the power of God, sin no more.

Your church is teaching you theory, Marv. They have some true sayings (more or less), but the faith of Christ is necessary for beneficial application. You need to enter the reality of discipleship with Him if you are to learn of God and be saved, having sure victory over sin to be remembered no more, not by you nor by God.

Here’s what you need:

“Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved” (Romans 10:9 MKJV).

Salvation isn’t a self-work of trying to fulfill the righteousness of God, but is the obedience of faith that bears fruit as the Lord works out a true confession of belief in Him. Your church has it backwards, teaching people to reach Christ by striving for self-perfection.

Not that your teachers are trying hard – indeed, the Lord’s words apply to them:

Matthew 23:1-4 MKJV
(1)  Then Jesus spoke to the crowd and to His disciples,
(2)  saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.
(3)  Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, observe and do [if in alignment with the Law of Moses]. But do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.
(4)  For they bind heavy and hard-to-carry burdens and lay them on men’s shoulders. But they will not move them with one of their fingers.

Keep reading on our site to receive the implanted Word that brings faith by hearing and believing the Lord Jesus Christ. The freedom the Truth brings is well worth it.

What do you want us to pray for you?

Okay, Marvin. We’re here to help whoever wills to be His friend.

Here’s what the Lord said to several who wanted to be His friend:

Luke 9:58-62 MKJV
(58)  And Jesus said to him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.
(59)  And He said to another, Follow Me! But he said, Lord, first allow me to go and bury my father.
(60)  Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.
(61)  And another also said, Lord, I will follow You, but first allow me to take leave of those in my house.
(62)  And Jesus said to him, No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.

Did you read the two links we gave you? Do you have any questions? What do you think of what you’ve heard so far?
