Repentance is Key to God Revealing Himself

Hello I have been scrolling through your website, and I have become interested in it. I just have an issue. I am unable to find God. I have tried praying and repenting, etc. for many years, yet it doesn’t seem like God will ever reveal himself to me. I want this desperately. Over the years, I have listened to false teachers such as Jan Boshoff and Mary K. Baxter and also Paul Washer. But I need your help. I need to know what I need to do in order to seek God. There feels like there is a thick wall of darkness keeping me from God and I don’t know why. Half the time it feels like I am an enemy of God.

“All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will in no way cast out” (John 6:37 MKJV).

You need to get honest, August. You’re essentially blaming God for not revealing Himself to you though you say you’ve repented and prayed for years. Is that so? Aren’t you the full-time enemy of God who hasn’t repented? Otherwise He would be known of you, right?

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him” (John 14:21 MKJV).

Stop entertaining men’s notions of godliness and being religious – drop all your pretensions and forsake pride. Humble yourself and take the lowest seat. Confess your sins and forsake them. Or continue as you are, ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of the Truth, the Lord Jesus Christ. Your choice.

“And you shall seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13 MKJV).

Sin (usually pride and idolatry) is the only barrier between man and God – there is no other. Honest, open acknowledgment and confession of sin is the antidote. God’s Word is Ever True:

“For everyone, ‘whoever shall call on the Name of the Lord will be saved’” (Romans 10:13 MKJV).

Okay, I just assumed that maybe God doesn’t want to reveal Himself to me for whatever reasons…I mean I have tried to repent desperately yet I never got to know God.
I read your message and it does seem correct. But I thought that maybe God just doesn’t want to reveal Himself to me.

Have you heard how the word “assume” is broken down, August? “Make an ass out of u and me.” That’s what you’re doing with God. You’re still blaming Him for what is your fault/shortcoming. His Word contradicts your claim of not having anything of Him revealed to you:

Romans 1:18-20 MKJV
(18)  For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
(19)  because the thing which may be known of God is clearly revealed within them, for God revealed it to them.
(20)  For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse.

When you realize you’re without excuse and take ownership of that, then you could be on your way to better things, if you follow through on what we told you in the first letter.

Victor
