Not All Believers Have the Same Calling

Hello,

I’m a born again, baptized in the Holy Spirit follower of Christ. My Bible states that we are ALL sent and that we are ALL members of a royal priesthood so please reconsider your premise that this man has not been sent. You remind me of Hank Hanegraff who denied that the 90’s revival was of God.

So your Bible also doesn’t say that there are specific ministries, manned by those whom the Lord calls to Himself from among His body?

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them’” (Acts 13:2 ESV).

“And truly He gave some to be apostles, and some to be prophets, and some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12 MKJV).

“And we request of you, brothers, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and instruct you, and to regard them beyond all measure in love, because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves” (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 EMTV).

“Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment” (James 3:1 WEB).

Your problem isn’t that you have a different Bible, John, but that you don’t understand the one you have.

“And think of the long-suffering of our Lord as salvation (as our beloved brother Paul also has written to you according to the wisdom given to him as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable pervert, as also they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction)” (2 Peter 3:15-16 MKJV).

You’re right in there with Korah and gang:

“And they gathered themselves against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, You take too much upon you, since all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them. Why then do you lift yourselves up above the congregation of the LORD? (Numbers 16:3 MKJV)
