Greetings.
I stumbled across your website while looking for some information and thought I’d just put in my few comments.
Interesting that you state that those of us that believe there is a perfect Word of God are idolators. God is able to keep His Word free from copyright ‘improvements’ and Satan’s subtlety. He does not just speak through His Word, He is His Word:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Can we trust God to keep Himself perfectly, or do we have a less than perfect God?
When we go from one version to another, from the Greek to the Hebrew and conclude that ‘it depends how you interpret it’ we are basically setting ourselves up as god and I believe that is idolatry. There is fruit that comes from reverencing the Word and submitting to it entirely that you don’t see otherwise. Well, there can’t be if they don’t have many of the true commandments for a start but also, it becomes a pick and choose situation more akin to Hinduism.
Blessings
Barbara

Hi Barbara,
You hit on the truth in your letter to us, but then completely misunderstand it. You write:
“He does not just speak through His Word, He is His Word:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Can we trust God to keep Himself perfectly, or do we have a less than perfect God?”
How true! God can’t be corrupted. He’s perfect and doesn’t change: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8 MKJV).
Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh, is perfect. The Holy Scriptures, the physical representation of His inspired writings, are not Jesus Christ. They are words that have been handled by corrupt men and can readily be tainted.
We thoroughly prove this in the section on our site, How We View and Use the Scriptures. If you don’t believe the many proofs we’ve given, then show us how they’re in error. Your opinion isn’t sufficient to dismiss so much substantiation by the wave of your hand.
Unless the Spirit or Word of God (Jesus Christ) illuminates our understanding, none of us can understand a word of the Bible. As the true words of Scripture were inspired by Him, so must we be inspired by Him to receive their meaning. That’s not playing God; it’s God reaching down and saving mankind through Jesus Christ. You’re missing the most essential element of our salvation – the present ministration of the Lord in our midst.
2 Peter 1:19-21 MKJV
(19) We also have a more sure Word of prophecy, to which you do well to take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Daystar arises in your hearts,
(20) knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture came into being of its own private interpretation.
(21) For prophecy was not borne at any time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke being borne along by the Holy Spirit.
“And we know that the Son of God has come, and He has given us an understanding so that we may know Him who is true. And we are in Him that is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and the everlasting life” (1 John 5:20 MKJV).
It would do you much good to read extensively on our site, Barbara, particularly the Teachings and Our Testimonies.

Dear Paul
Thank you for your reply. I did give you my opinion, which obviously I believe to be true! Does it mean I’ve ‘missed the present ministration of our Lord in our midst’? I think that is a bit of an assumption! I am blessed by the living Word of God, which I believe to be literal unless obviously otherwise, so yes, I do believe that God and His Word are one because that’s what is written. I do believe in a perfect Bible. God is able to give us His perfect Word even through wretched people! This is probably one of those debates that could go on forever and I have no compulsion to set about the task of trying to change your minds if they are readily fixed on another way. I am sure you have a thriving ministry and good testimonials but I hold to another belief on this issue and am blessed by my conviction.
May God bless you
Barbara

Oh! I just realized after I had replied that you probably said what you did because you understood me to think God is His Word only! I don’t think that but I do believe His Word is one of the ways He has given us Himself.
Blessings!

Here’s the difference between us, Barbara. You say:
“I am blessed by the living Word of God, which I believe to be literal unless obviously otherwise, so yes, I do believe that God and His Word are one because that’s what is written.”
But we are blessed by the Word of God made flesh, Who lives in us and gives us understanding.
“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, Who of God is made to us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption; so that, according as it is written, ‘He who glories, let him glory in the Lord’” (1 Corinthians 1:30-31 MKJV).
We glory in the Lord, but you glory in the Bible (which is truly glorying in yourself).
There is no endless debate here. The debate is already over, but you haven’t noticed because you’re blinded by your opinion. We’ve proven what we’ve said by the Word of God, and you’ve proven nothing. If you were the Lord’s, you’d hear what we’re saying and be in agreement by His Spirit.
“We are of God. He who knows God hears us. The one who is not of God does not hear us. From this we know the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error” (1 John 4:6 MKJV).
Is God able to give us His Word through wretched people, as you put it? What did Jesus say of the Pharisees, who knew the written Word better than you do?
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you compass sea and the dry land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves” (Matthew 23:15 MKJV).
Giving people a Bible isn’t nearly enough. Men’s churches teaching Diabolical Doctrines the world over preach from the Bible, and many exclusively from the KJV. What does the Lord say of them?
“You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about Me. But you are unwilling to come to Me, so that you may have life” (John 5:39-40 EMTV).
So we say to you.
