Greetings Yvon,
I sat in with Victor on the reply to your letter and just wanted to add something that came up yesterday by way of a remarkable coincidence. While Victor was composing at the computer I got up to look at the bookshelf at a particular place where I had seen an interesting book earlier in the day. This time another title caught my eye; “Prophet of the End”, which I proceeded to pick up and leaf through. It turned out to be about the life of Ellen G. White.
I turned, unconsciously, to page 49, and began to read the following quote from Mrs. White concerning her revelations for others: “Since the warning and instruction given in testimony for individual cases applied with equal force to many others who has not been specifically pointed out in this manner, it SEEMED TO BE MY DUTY TO PUBLISH THE PERSONAL TESTIMONIES for the benefit of the church…Perhaps there is NO MORE DIRECT AND FORCIBLE WAY of presenting what the Lord has shown me.” (Testimonies, Vol. 5 pages 658-659)
Yvon, I was amazed at how the Lord brought to our attention an answer from Ellen White herself for the question you posed to Victor about his sharing the message publicly. This reminds me of how we also found Mrs. White’s opinion of having images in a spiritual worship context after Victor wrote the letter to the church. But if you do not believe her own words concerning these things, whom you have claimed to be a prophet, how could you be expected to believe the words of one you do not know.
Prophets are seldom believed in their own country, and Mrs. White is not believed in your church as people there claim. You are as those Isaiah spoke of who honor God and His prophets with lip service, but do their own thing (Matt. 15:8-9). Jesus also said to such: “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous…” (Matt 23:29-39, please read all).
We speak to you from across the great divide and say: “Awake you who sleeps, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.” (Eph. 5:14)
