Libraries Aren’t for Agendas
By Lisa Marshall, 1555 Summit St. – 09/21/2008

Public libraries shouldn’t be used as political tools to advance liberal social agendas.

Public libraries don’t have to address, serve or embrace every twisted subculture searching for legitimization. Get rid of the book and the computer porn.

I plan on voting against any new funding proposals that support the library.

Lisa,

A letter responding to this issue with some reasoning. Librarians are there to help the public when in the library. There must be a way to serve all, even those who want to explore "The Joy of Gay Sex". Does your child need to view such books as they search for knowledge? What value does this book offer? Should we have to escort our children in the library? My ten year old beleives this book sounds "icky" and asks, "why do they have that book in the library anyway". It’s difficult enough to raise our children and provide them with tools to succees in life, I don’t see any literary value to this book.

Ms. Marshall, I am one of many who view self-appointed censors, to use your own words, as a "twisted subculture searching for legitimization". The staged outrage about the library’s "Joy of Gay Sex" book is beyond silly. Everybody knows what homosexual sex is, and knowing about it doesn’t make anybody gay. My advice to these self-righteous posers is this: police your own family, leave other people alone, and get professional help for the sexual obsession that seems to have taken over your life.

Agendas, my dear? Twisted subcultures? Oh, I think you’ve made a rather large mistake. Thats not what this is about at all. Try again, but remove the mote from thine eye, first.

Thats funny al….I agree….all this fuss about gay sex….very wierd. Mind your own darn business I say…..it is plain and simple….if you are not interested in gay sex than do not read it. I’ll tell you that I have small children and while I would not want them to read this book it is only because it is not age appropriate. If they want to read it when they turn 18, fine with me….I firmly believe that you are born gay and scientific evidence is becoming more and more supportive to that. I think it is is utterly ridiculous to believe that reading or seeing this book would influence anyone to "become" gay.

I think Ms. Marshall brings up a valid point-the advancing of the liberal social agenda. To be perfectly blunt, homosexuality is not something that needs to be promoted or explored. In fact, I don’t even think that "the Joy of Sex" should be in the public library. I think the library needs to maintain a level of decency and promote higher learning-not cater to every person that feels they have the right to information that is not intellectually useful. At what point do we say enough is enough, and keep the agenda of the library consistent with educating the mind, not with titillating the senses? Obviously people have a right to read what they want, but they don’t have the right to have a public library stocking any sort of low-brow crap any group of citizens wants. Buy the dang book if you want to read it-don’t insist on tax dollars providing you information about your alternative sexual lifestyle. If we’re going to fund this, at what point do we say "no"? Will there eventually be a "Joy of bestiality" or a "Joy of masturbation?" Get real, people. A note to al: you stepped over the line when you suggest people opposed to the gay life style have a "sexual obsession". In fact, I would say it’s the other way around-those who want those types of books in the library probably lean toward a "sexual obsession". This is a free country. You have the right to be gay, we have the right not to approve of the gay lifestyle. This is America.

The Man of Sin Defends the Wrong, Fights the Right

From: John To: The Path of Truth Sent: Friday, February 19, 2016 1:47 AM Subject: Hello SirsHi,    I came across your website because I had suspected as well that certain people you wrote about were false teachers (repentance not as much focused), and I wanted to hear what others had to say about it; however, as I read 2 of your posts, I couldn't keep from constantly recalling the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 13.    Brothers, if you truly seek to steer these people away from false gospels, why do you call them things like "silly girl" which only detracts from the strong defense of the Gospel we are sworn to defend in "meanness and fear" (1 Peter 3:15)? At very the same time you declare, "answering you responsibly", then slander with "your shallow, unexamined, satanic defense of man and yourself rather than identification with the Lord Jesus Christ by His cross." And you claim, "Love has been speaking to you." Does love with the intent of saving sound like this??    Does the following text sound like it should be uttered from the mouth of a Christian?    "One day, as you feed with the swine, it will dawn on you that what we say is true because     we serve Him Who is True."    Now, we are right to judge the brethren inside the body (1 Corinthians 5:12-13), but we are also to examine ourselves first, so that we do not show up as hypocrites. Matthew 7:2 says "For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it w...

The Feast-Keeping that Is Sin

Are you following God’s written directions and requirements as recorded in the Law of Moses? If not, then you cannot be keeping the Feasts in truth, can you? If you are not doing things His way, but are substituting something else for His specific and precise instructions, yet call what you do by His chosen name for the real event, is that not presumptuous and deceitful? Are you not breaking His Law and sinning?

Presuming to Understand Repentance More than God

From: Jeff To: The Path of Truth Sent: Tuesday, February 09, 2016 1:35 PM Subject: The PurposeI was just surfing around and came to this site.  Please look at the etymology of the word 'repentance'.  This has nothing to do with sin.  Jesus said 'repent and believe' the word is metanoia, as I'm sure you know.  To Metanoia is to reboot, absolutely transform and start over - your understanding of who God is, who Jesus us.  The Jews didn't get it.  Repentance comes from 're-penance'.  Back in the 1600s the church I needed repeat customers, thus translated 'repentance'... and re-penance.  That translation of the word metanoia is absolutely incorrect.Evangelical Christianity doesn't get it...the purpose of the Incarnation of the Eternal son.  Everything Christ did, he did as humanity.  He loved the Father with all His heart mind soul and strength...no human could do it.  On the cross humanity's sin was killed. Jesus killed Adam.  In His resurrection, He took humanity with Him and seated us even above Himself at the right hand of the Father.  That's it.  This is not universalism.  Anybody can reject God into the eons---those outside the gates....but the gates are never shut and the Spirit and the bride are saying 'come in'.What you suggest paints God to be more demonic than Satan himself...suggesting that God forknew the eternal torture of billions and billions of people in hell (which Jesus created) and created anyway makes him a genocidAl, schizophrenic maniac. ...
