For Whom Do We Vote?

English – ChineseSpanish

The candidate for the Conservatives came by canvassing votes in this federal election. I asked him some questions. “What is your stand on genetically-modified organisms?” His reply was that it was a good thing, that this was our hope for feeding the world. He ignorantly claimed that they had been genetically modifying for ages, referring to breeding and other methods not even remotely as radical as genetic manipulation. I asked him his position on the use of agricultural chemicals. He told me he was a farmer, and approved of chemicals, specifically mentioning Roundup, and declaring how benign it was. He was for Roundup-ready crops.

I have decided not to cast my vote for any party or person.

When I asked him about a migrating swarm of monarch butterflies landing on GM corn and dying from the built-in insecticide, he shrugged his shoulders. When I asked him about our eating the stuff, and its potential harm to us, again, he had no answer. When I asked him about the scientific evidence available proving that Roundup was anything but benign, that even the vapors were lethal, again, he shrugged it off, speaking nothing but the Monsanto propaganda.

When I asked him about Percy Schmeiser, the one who lost his notable legal battle with Monsanto, and how he was abused, the MP candidate declared that it was Percy who was the culprit, that Percy was the one who purposely used Monsanto genetically-modified canola in his field, knowing full well he was violating Monsanto’s rights. I was annoyed at his ignorance, bias, apathy, and his nerve to ask for my vote. Then, when I read his brochure, it was apparent he was in sympathy of multinational chemical pushers, ignorantly or wittingly, fully supporting the destruction of this world in “good” ways.

What choices do we have in voting? Who but blind fools can doubt that the Liberals have been thieves and liars, making promises just to gain favor and confidence, then breaking them without a pang in conscience? We have come to a despicable state in Canadian politics, and indeed, in world politics. There is not an unbiased bone out there, and if there are any who set out to make some needed changes, it is not long before they are eliminated, or corrupted themselves, one way or another. After all, if shepherds depend on the sheep to choose them and tell them what to do, what else can one expect?

This brings us to a very good place, and I expect others to know it. I have decided not to cast my vote for any party or person, because in the end, they are all out to please the public and/or line their pockets, and when one is out to please people or oneself, he or she cannot but betray true values. I was, for example, in disagreement with Mr. Harper silencing Larry Spencer, who was speaking what he believed the Bible declared. If a politician cannot have freedom of religion and speech, who of us can?

Gay groups are free to flaunt their hideous, lust-themed lifestyles and parades in our faces, sanctioned by all governments, supported personally by Joe Clark (who was once Prime Minister), but when Christians quote the Bible, the Word of God, speaking for decency, purity and godliness, they are reviled, assailed, demonized, threatened, and assassinated in character as backward, narrow-minded, religious, “homophobic” bigots. Stephen Harper cannot get the majority of votes if he does not avoid controversial topics. It is a deplorable day in Canada’s history and state of affairs when all who aspire to be politically successful, including those who call themselves “Christians,” must accommodate those things called sin by God in the Bible.

Jesus Christ bought our votes with His blood, promising abundant life.

While I will not cast my vote for any political candidate or party, I will, and do indeed, cast my vote. We are not without voting options. I told the Conservative candidate my vote was now squarely for the Lord Jesus Christ. I said it is time for men’s governments to end, and for the Kingdom of God to be established. I am sick and tired of immorality, corruption and falsehood, funded by my pocket book. When I told him this, he proudly told me he had a specific religious affiliation. If he reads this article, let me serve him notice that he has nothing to be proud of, that if his vote were truly for the Lord Jesus Christ, as he suggests by declaring his so-called Christian, denominational affiliation, he would not remain in his religiosity, nor would he retain his ignorance. He would not tolerate those things that he now actively supports. He would not support the destroying of this earth, and would believe and fear the declaration in Scripture that says:

“And the nations were angry, and Your wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should give reward unto Your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear Your Name, small and great; and should destroy them which destroy the earth” (Revelation 11:18 KJV).

Men buy our votes with our blood, giving us false and measly promises, and then do as they please with our money and us. Jesus Christ bought our votes with His blood, promising abundant life far beyond what politicians could imagine, yet His promises are sure and true. My vote is for Him. When others come to their senses, their votes will go the same way. And they will not be disappointed, disillusioned or ashamed.

“And in the days of these kings, the God of Heaven shall set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed. And the kingdom shall not be left to other peoples, but it shall crush and destroy all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever” (Daniel 2:44 MKJV).
