We have asked Rabbi Moshe Levin to cancel this event. We hope so, but we plan to be there if CUFI is, how about you?
For those with a tight schedule, It’s best to come at 1:30 PM for one hour to meet the attendees on their way in, and those who cannot come early should arrive about 4:30-5:30 to educate those departing. Quintana is a high traffic boulevard, so please make your signs and banners large, simple and easy to read for moving traffic. We will have extra’s and hand-out literature for those who do not have signs. Jewish Voice for Peace brought a very effective banner to our Arvada Colorado Vigil.

We add some practical detail in for those not familiar with what “Christian Zionists” believe, and why they do. We hope you will have a chance to talk to some of the attendees.

We rely upon expressions from the bible that mean something to Christians and religious Jews. The Old testament contains a dozen or more condemnations of those who“shed innocent blood.”One New Testament story in the book of Matthew tells of infamous Judas, who hangs himself after confessing, “I am guilty of shedding innocent blood.” The views held by John Hagee and most Christian Zionists are repugnant to religious Jews and followers of Christ should denounce Hagee for the innocent blood of thousands on his hands, from Iraq to Afghanistan, and Gaza.
Hagee is thought to be a friend of Zionists because he raises money and swings political pressure for Israel. But his purpose is self-serving. He would never be accepted by religious Jews if they knew of his core teachings. Christian Zionists teach that this sect alone is on the way to a confusing, sometimes spiritual, sometimes earthly resurrection, and afterlife, and that most Jews will be slaughtered in a giant battle called “Armageddon” before the new heaven on earth. We appeal to Christians who attend with our message: Christianity holds that all men are equal, and God plays no favorites. Unfortunately, there are as many as 70 million Americans who have, in some way, been influenced to Christian Zionist conclusions. No two leaders tell exactly the same story because the story defies logic, and each Christian Zionist leader seems to want to come up with his own biblical twist. Confused followers are told everyone else is confused, and they must love Israel no matter what it does, and hate each of Israel’s enemies. These include most recently Russians… traditional Christians believe Jesus left his followers with the responsibility to help fix the mess we have in our land, no matter who made it. Our own 29 minute film Christian Zionism, the Tragedy and the Turning, contains a detailed explanation of how Christian Zionism came to be in the last 125 years, and how secular Zionists have helped it to happen. This film asserts that there are some 30-50 million Christians influences to some degree by Zionist, including those who follow Hagee…
We Hold These Truths has staged well over 100 vigils like this one, coast to coast. We hope Jews, and other Christ Followers will join us in informing this Synagogue that Hagee’s people are not those they should allow inside their sanctuaries. Our message to Congregation Ner Tamid:Rabbi Moshe Levin should cancel this event. Our message to the congregation is, turn form Zionism. Your email is entitled “Peace with Justice for Palestinians.” The Scripture I sent you in my reply was: “There is no peace, says the Lord, for the evil-doers” (Isaiah 48:22 BBE).
How can you make peace with Islam, which not only denies the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who was crucified and resurrected from the dead after three nights and days in the grave, but declares war on anyone who does not bow down to their false prophet, Muhammad, who claims to supersede every servant of God, even the Lord Himself?
And you call yourself a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ? There is no greater delusion than yours, Chuck. None are so blind as those who don’t realize they’re blind.
If you had any care for the truth you would read, not speed read, all of the articles I’ve sent you. But plainly you don’t care for the truth at all, which is why you’re deluded.

Vigil leader, Craig Hanson wrote to Rev. Rick Cole and the staff at Capital Christian Center, regarding the Christians United For Israel (CUFI) “Night to Honor Israel” [link defunct] event on 10/11/15 they will be hosting: “We Hold These Truths will be outside of your church on the public sidewalk conducting a peaceful vigil during the CUFI presentation. It is our hope and prayer that you will cancel this CUFI event.”
Here is the letter that was sent:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ at Capital Christian Center,
We are saddened to learn that your fellowship is hosting a Christians United For Israel (CUFI) “Night to Honor Israel” [link defunct] event on Sunday, October 11th. CUFI presents itself as a “Christian” organization, but is nothing more than a lobbying arm for the State of Israel. CUFI has been called a “Christian AIPAC” by it’s founder, John Hagee, who is on record for praying for war [link defunct].
He also believes in a “dual-covenant” theology whereby Jews do not have to believe in Jesus to be saved. In fact, the name “Jesus” is rarely mentioned, if at all, in a CUFI gathering, and then only “in Jesus Name, amen”.
We Hold These Truths is an organization whose mission is to awaken the Evangelical Church to the dangers of Zionism and specifically the branch known as Christian Zionism.
Here is why you should do so. On your Our Purpose [link defunct] web page you state:
“Environment of Acceptance.. All people matter to God.” Pastor Cole, does that also include your brothers and sisters in Christ living in Palestine? You state: “Passionate Outreach – We are committed to reaching our community and the world with the message of Jesus Christ.” And, yet you invite to your church CUFI, who refuses to share that gospel message!
On your “What We Believe” page you state: “Capital Christian Center holds to an orthodox historical Christian faith” We say, Premillennial Dispensationalism is NOT an “orthodox historical Christian faith” but is a theology formulated in the late 19th century.
Your “About Jesus” is missing the whole concept of Jesus being the fulfillment of the Old Covenant – Mt.5:17, 2Cor.1:20, Heb.8:6 Please see Rob Dalrymple’s excellent book These Brothers of Mine explaining those truths: “Christian Zionism does NOT look like Jesus and is incompatible with His teachings: ‘Blessed are the Peacemakers’, ‘Do good to those that persecute you’, ‘My kingdom is not of this world’, ‘Blessed are the merciful’….”
If you research the roots of Christian Zionism (we have many articles and links on our web site to help you), you will find that Christian Zionism is built upon a faulty Biblical hermeneutic, or interpretation of scripture, that does NOT represent the historic teachings of the Christian Church. Christian Zionism supports the confiscation of land by brute force, dispossessing people groups, supporting wars, deceptions, frauds, and murder of innocents – which does NOT represent Jesus!!!
Today’s Zionism is a secular political agenda that has taken scriptures from the Biblical narrative out of context and misapplied those scriptures to Zionism to give it an appearance of legitimacy.
Pastor Cole, I attended an Assembly of God Bible School, I know the doctrines. God used the AG Church mightily in my life. For that I’m thankful. As I’ve grown in my faith, whenever I see doctrines and practices in the evangelical church that do NOT reflect Jesus’ teachings – I have to speak up. Can you honestly picture Jesus driving a Caterpillar tractor, uprooting Palestinian olive trees and smashing their homes? Yet that is what Christian Zionism supports.
There were many Christian pastors and others in the early 20th century that spoke out against Zionism – but their voices were drowned out by the Zionist forces of that day.
In 1949 Professor Millar Burrows of the Yale School of Divinity in his book Palestine Is Our Business states: “A terrible wrong has been done to the native people of Palestine… Our own interests, both as Americans and Christians, are endangered. The interests of the Jewish people also have suffered. And we can still do something about it”. He goes on to say: “One thing is certain. Nothing that is essentially unjust or contrary to the Spirit of Christ can be the will of God. Let him who speaks of the fulfillment of prophesy remember Jer. 22:13 – ‘Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness’…”
Pastor Cole, we would welcome any dialog that you would like to have with us during this vigil, or before the vigil through email. We also are brothers and sisters in Christ and our desire is “to seek peace and pursue it”, 1Peter 3:11.
