Rapture Doctrine Is Strange, Unworthy of Consideration

I love your website. Please keep up the good work.

I don’t know how long ago you posted the article on Doug Hamp, but I want to comment.

I agree that this man is a false teacher for many reasons, but I disagree with the two reasons you selected to debunk him. The sons of God were angels, just check Job.  Also, Enoch is quite clear and elucidating on this, if you believe in Enoch, as I do.

Jude referred to Enoch as a prophet. Second Peter bolsters Enoch.  The bible is littered with phrases right out of Enoch.

Secondly, the reason so many Christians argue about pre or post tribulation rapture, is because there is great evidence for both.  Unfortunately, people take one side or the other, when in fact if prophecy is fulfilled there will be two raptures; first for the elect and then for those who will come through fire.

The prospect of prophecy being fulfilled doesn’t look good because it was supposed to happen in the generation of Jesus, but it didn’t, so something else might happen.  Also, many prophecies of the Old and New Testaments remain unfulfilled, which supports the idea that we just might have a different ending that spelled out in the Bible.

Thanks,

Hugh

Hi Hugh,

You write:

The sons of God were angels, just check Job.

Nothing in Job says that – you’re reading into the text.

Also, Enoch is quite clear and elucidating on this, if you believe in Enoch, as I do.

The only quote in the Bible attributed to Enoch is in Jude, and it says nothing about angelic beings being the sons of God. On the contrary, it says the opposite:

“Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men, saying, ‘Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment against all, and to convict all the ungodly among them about all their ungodly deeds which they have committed impiously, and about all the harsh words which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him’” (Jude 1:14-15 EMTV).

As for your thoughts on prophecy and “the rapture,” they’re carnal, a product of man’s thinking and unbelief. You say: “The prospect of prophecy being fulfilled doesn’t look good because it was supposed to happen in the generation of Jesus, but it didn’t, so something else might happen.” Maybe you worded that poorly, but whatever you’re saying here is very wrong. Things aren’t left to chance. God is Sovereign and everything is unfolding as He has decreed and foretold.

You also say: “Secondly, the reason so many Christians argue about pre or post tribulation rapture, is because there is great evidence for both.  Unfortunately, people take one side or the other, when in fact if prophecy is fulfilled there will be two raptures; first for the elect and then for those who will come through fire.

ALL children of God come through fire and tribulation, without which, their salvation can’t be complete. On this, the Word of God is clear:

“For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt” (Mark 9:49 MKJV).

“John answered all, saying, I indeed baptize you with water, but He Who is mightier than I comes, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to loose. He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire” (Luke 3:16 MKJV).

“And preaching the Gospel to that city, and having made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and Iconium and Antioch, confirming the souls of the disciples, calling on them to continue in the faith and that through much tribulation we must enter into the Kingdom of God” (Acts 14:21-22 MKJV).

We hope you will take these words to heart for your salvation, Hugh.

“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle” (Hebrews 13:9-10 KJV).

Subject: ‘Guess Who Appreciates Satan’ From: David To: The Path of Truth Date: 11/24/2015 1:42 PM Hi, I came across your website not by accident, chance or choice but by determination of seeking out an opinion that aligns closely to how I too view God's word. Although I've read many of your teachings, there is one so far that has stood out amongst them the title is "Guess who appreciates Satan" I have been seeing this for years but haven't been able to piece it together so I could show those that have eyes could also see it. So a big thank you for doing it.  It also states in scripture (Gen 1:26) that God made man in the image and OUR likeness and this task wasn't completed until AFTER they ate the fruit, God confirms this in Gen 3:22 to which many followers miss. Gen 3:24 also shows us that there were others also in the garden as well and along with Gen 3:1 we can now piece together to whom God was referring to when he was talking about making man in the image and likeness of US.  Anyway, this is a fantastic website for all to enjoy and learn.
