Rapture Doctrine Is Strange, Unworthy of Consideration

I love your website. Please keep up the good work.

I don’t know how long ago you posted the article on Doug Hamp, but I want to comment.

I agree that this man is a false teacher for many reasons, but I disagree with the two reasons you selected to debunk him. The sons of God were angels, just check Job.  Also, Enoch is quite clear and elucidating on this, if you believe in Enoch, as I do.

Jude referred to Enoch as a prophet. Second Peter bolsters Enoch.  The bible is littered with phrases right out of Enoch.

Secondly, the reason so many Christians argue about pre or post tribulation rapture, is because there is great evidence for both.  Unfortunately, people take one side or the other, when in fact if prophecy is fulfilled there will be two raptures; first for the elect and then for those who will come through fire.

The prospect of prophecy being fulfilled doesn’t look good because it was supposed to happen in the generation of Jesus, but it didn’t, so something else might happen.  Also, many prophecies of the Old and New Testaments remain unfulfilled, which supports the idea that we just might have a different ending that spelled out in the Bible.

Thanks,

Hugh

Hi Hugh,

You write:

The sons of God were angels, just check Job.

Nothing in Job says that – you’re reading into the text.

Also, Enoch is quite clear and elucidating on this, if you believe in Enoch, as I do.

The only quote in the Bible attributed to Enoch is in Jude, and it says nothing about angelic beings being the sons of God. On the contrary, it says the opposite:

“Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men, saying, ‘Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment against all, and to convict all the ungodly among them about all their ungodly deeds which they have committed impiously, and about all the harsh words which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him’” (Jude 1:14-15 EMTV).

As for your thoughts on prophecy and “the rapture,” they’re carnal, a product of man’s thinking and unbelief. You say: “The prospect of prophecy being fulfilled doesn’t look good because it was supposed to happen in the generation of Jesus, but it didn’t, so something else might happen.” Maybe you worded that poorly, but whatever you’re saying here is very wrong. Things aren’t left to chance. God is Sovereign and everything is unfolding as He has decreed and foretold.

You also say: “Secondly, the reason so many Christians argue about pre or post tribulation rapture, is because there is great evidence for both.  Unfortunately, people take one side or the other, when in fact if prophecy is fulfilled there will be two raptures; first for the elect and then for those who will come through fire.

ALL children of God come through fire and tribulation, without which, their salvation can’t be complete. On this, the Word of God is clear:

“For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt” (Mark 9:49 MKJV).

“John answered all, saying, I indeed baptize you with water, but He Who is mightier than I comes, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to loose. He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire” (Luke 3:16 MKJV).

“And preaching the Gospel to that city, and having made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and Iconium and Antioch, confirming the souls of the disciples, calling on them to continue in the faith and that through much tribulation we must enter into the Kingdom of God” (Acts 14:21-22 MKJV).

We hope you will take these words to heart for your salvation, Hugh.

“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle” (Hebrews 13:9-10 KJV).

With so many false teachers listed, and of those of yesteryear, and in the future about so many of these false teachers. It reminds me that "many are called but only a few will be chosen." These false teachers will be judged at the judgment seat of Christ. You have done so much research and study. It is just amazing! Whether you may never respond to my emails, I do understand. I am not part of hate mail that you may have encountered over the years. Shalom! My family has been over ran and I lost track of what I was being called out of. I've been on prescription pain killers for over 10 years now for a back problem (Addicted) My main focus in life was to get on disabilty instead of pleasing God and I built up a false realty that my way of life was acceptable with God, then when I started to get off of the pain killers I realized the damage that I had done to my brain (Bipolar Disorder) and have been overwhelmed by dysfunctional horrible intrusive thoughts, Panic attacks, breathing problems and my sleeping patterns are off. I have a fearful realization that God had turned me over to reprobation. My wife is a unbeliever and I never fully broke away from my old life. My wife and I are separated now and none of my children are christians. I fear the Holy Spirit may have left me. How far will God go to keep you from falling away? I've prayed and tried to turn things around but to much damage has been done and I am not well. Would he turn someone over to Satan (Which I know he has done) for the destuction of the flesh 1 Co 5:5 (or because I've become a castaway) I'm hoping he would go to these extreems to keep me from being cut off. Do I Need a Water Baptism?
From: Angela To: The Path of Truth Sent: Saturday, January 09, 2016 7:59 AM Subject: FalseTeachers Hi I came to faith 6 months ago. I've listened to a lot of teachings, but mostly after some time, I stop listening to them as something in me feels like I'm being deceived ( including quite a few of the people on your list ) . I wanted to ask ( apart from yourselves ) , are there any true teachers out there ? Any views on Peter Michael Martinez ? Its only since coming to faith that I realize how much deception is out there. My other major concern is water baptism. Do I need a water baptism ? How can I when the churches that I've attended ( and left ) are preaching false words. I do not want to be baptized by someone who is not true. Any advice would be greatly welcomed.
