Meandering Without the Shepherd

Subject: On Church Attendance

I came across your website this evening and I am intrigued.  I haven’t read all that I want to read as yet, but, I will meander through it.

I read your article regarding salvation.  I scanned the “false doctrines” articles.

Here’s my question.  I do not attend church regularly.  It is in my heart to do that so as to not avoid gathering with other like minded believers.  Unfortunately every church in my area either teaches eternal torment for the unbelieving or the church is liberal and accepts just about anything as doctrine.

I’m not looking for advice, but I would like your opinion.

Thank you,

Jim

Hi Jim,

Do sheep select their own pastures, food, and companions, or do their shepherds guide and manage them? If Jesus Christ is your Shepherd, then you can be certain He is leading you where you need to be, step by step, everything in its place and time.

“God sets the solitary in families: He brings out those which are bound with chains…”

But if you’re doing your own thing in His Name, then “the rebellious dwell in a dry land” (Psalms 68:6 KJV). Even though that land is populated by many and apparently prosperous.

“Righteous are You, O LORD, when I complain to You; yet I would plead my case before You. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all who are treacherous thrive? You plant them, and they take root; they grow and produce fruit; You are near in their mouth and far from their heart” (Jeremiah 12:1-2 ESV).

“Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it” (Matthew 7:13 MKJV).

Giving you not opinion, but the Word of God, which isn’t just advice – it’s His commandments with sure promise.

Laughing at Sinlessness, Salvation, Even God
From: Eddie To: The Path of Truth Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2016 7:00 PM Subject: False Teachers. I am always amused by someone who compiles a list of "False teachers" as long as one's arm, while teaching something themselves which is false such as "you have to keep the Sabbath," or "100% sinlessness," or "King-James-Only."  In your case, you teach a works-based salvation which has no visible means of biblical support.  And your list of false teachers has a lot of names on it.  Except, or course, yours. From: Victor Hafichuk To: Eddie Sent: Friday, March 11, 2016 8:12 AM Subject: Re: False Teachers. Of course you’re amused, Eddie, as only a fool can be regarding life and death issues. We’re not amused at all by your ignorance and arrogance. It’s a sad, vexing, and tragic thing to behold.  You trash the Fourth Commandment, which means you’ve trashed them all. “For whoever shall keep the whole Law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10 MKJV). You deny that those born of God don’t sin, but keep themselves from sinning by His power. You stand against the Word of God and fall. “We know that everyone begotten of God does not sin; but he that was begotten of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him” (1 John 5:18 EMTV). The evil one owns you.  1 John 3:6-10 EMTV (6)  Everyone who abides in Him does not sin; everyone who sins has not seen Him nor has he known Him. (7)  Little children, let no one deceive you. The Limitations of Man's Wisdom
Here is the Facebook correspondence I began with Shiv Chopra on his book Four.Five on October 2, 2016: From Victor Hafichuk: Hi Shiv, I've finally completed Four.Five - a tough go for me, I must admit. I found the detailed parallel of the story of Noah and the human embryology fascinating, but it seems the significance was different for each of us. Thus, these questions, to start, if you're willing:  What do you have to say in general or in summary of your book? What are your conclusions that you might not necessarily wish to divulge to the general public for various reasons? Do you believe in a First Cause? Do you believe in cross-species [macro] evolution? I don't know that you were very clear, or I just missed it. Do you believe the story of Noah, THE FLOOD, and the ark is mythological (fictional), merely an allegory of human gestation, or do you believe it to be a record of an actual, historical event, which nonetheless represented another aspect or "department" of reality, what I would call "creation"? Of course, you likely know where I stand on these matters but I'd like to hear where you stand. When I have confirmation from you on these points, I'd like to send you a very brief summation of my thoughts on Four.Five.  However, I'd like to converse by email, if you don't mind. I find it much easier on that medium for correspondence. Thank you, Shiv. I wish you well. Victor Hafichuk's Reply at 2:43 pm: So please give me your email addres...
I’m Righteous Enough to Apologize for Condemning
From: Donald To: The Path of Truth Sent: Friday, June 24, 2016 3:45 PM Subject: All are saved Not sure how I came upon your website but I have began reading much there and to be honest I didn’t now that much theological hair-splitting existed. However; that’s not the purpose of this email. You answered someone’s question on ‘who then can be saved’. If I read your reply correctly, you indicated in so many words that all are eventually saved. In another post I read where you replied to someone’s inquiry that hell is not a literal place or it is kind of a temporary holding cell. (I may have that one wrong, I read a bunch of stuff in one sitting). My purpose here and now is to then ask you to explain Matthew 13:37-42.  Another thing I might add is: how is it that you alone have the whole council of God and the tens of thousands of others down through the centuries are all liars? Of the six hundred billion people in the world, God chose only you to receive the Spirit of Truth? If God is love; your condemnation of all that pose legitimate questions to you certainly doesn’t reflect any of that love. What happened to “love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you.” If I sound condemning I ask for your forgiveness. And you condemn not only us, but the Lord Jesus Christ Whom ...
