Meandering Without the Shepherd

Subject: On Church Attendance

I came across your website this evening and I am intrigued.  I haven’t read all that I want to read as yet, but, I will meander through it.

I read your article regarding salvation.  I scanned the “false doctrines” articles.

Here’s my question.  I do not attend church regularly.  It is in my heart to do that so as to not avoid gathering with other like minded believers.  Unfortunately every church in my area either teaches eternal torment for the unbelieving or the church is liberal and accepts just about anything as doctrine.

I’m not looking for advice, but I would like your opinion.

Thank you,

Jim

Hi Jim,

Do sheep select their own pastures, food, and companions, or do their shepherds guide and manage them? If Jesus Christ is your Shepherd, then you can be certain He is leading you where you need to be, step by step, everything in its place and time.

“God sets the solitary in families: He brings out those which are bound with chains…”

But if you’re doing your own thing in His Name, then “the rebellious dwell in a dry land” (Psalms 68:6 KJV). Even though that land is populated by many and apparently prosperous.

“Righteous are You, O LORD, when I complain to You; yet I would plead my case before You. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all who are treacherous thrive? You plant them, and they take root; they grow and produce fruit; You are near in their mouth and far from their heart” (Jeremiah 12:1-2 ESV).

“Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it” (Matthew 7:13 MKJV).

Giving you not opinion, but the Word of God, which isn’t just advice – it’s His commandments with sure promise.

Thankful for Our Exposing False Teachers.
From: Angel To: The Path of Truth Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2016 11:18 AM Subject: Thank you Thank you for your article about Paul Washer. I enjoy biblical truth I am searching for God, which is not an easy task. I was watching Paul Walker on YouTube and in my heart It felt wrong. I felt he was glorifying himself, his convictions, his opinions, his own voice it did not feel God inspired but self inspired, self serving, and self seeking. I wanted to thank you and ask you if their is anything you could recommend me that will lead me to God.  From: Paul Cohen and Victor Hafichuk To: Angel Sent: Sunday, May 29, 2016 7:11 AM Subject: Re: Thank You It sounds like the Lord Jesus Christ has confirmed your witness of the truth regarding Paul Washer, Angel. You have been led to God, because He is here: “For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there I am in their midst” (Matthew 18:20 MKJV). Harsh Words, or Words of Truth?
From: Keith To: The Path of Truth Sent: Tuesday, December 06, 2016 8:50 PM Subject: Wow. You speak harsh I encountered your article because a friend sent me a youtube for Todd white. I sorta think it is kinda like witchcraft. I think it can bring demonic possession into those that mess with the dreams and using these gifts to give self satisfaction or an appearance of a prophet. I have encountered a lady that has rented a room from me at my bed and breakfast in the mountains. She tells me she speaks in tongues. That she has many dreams. I do not know what to think about these things. I live a peaceful life and try to love others. I believe in only the scripture and prayer. I have been told by others I have a gift for discernment and prophecy. Although I take it lightly. Seeing this as a gift to EDIFy my spirit. I do not understand the lady that is visiting me. She told me a dream today. I told her I believe it is witchcraft. I believe she is playing with things that can cause her many problems. I told her it was wrong. I told her she was allowing herself to be manipulated by witchcraft and evil demonic spirits. She brought up a bad situation from an immoral friend of my past. I told her she was the problem and she was bringing it into my home. Can you enlighten me on how I should handle Christians I believe God sends to my home? I believe she is blinded in sin. She cannot see her sin. She has dreams and tells what she sees with no knowledge of th...
Do Men of God Walk in the Flesh?
From: Kelly To: The Path of Truth Sent: Thursday, December 31, 2015 12:01 PM Subject: Hi! I attend TSC Hi! I'm 52 yrs of age. I've spent most of my life seeking Truth. The Lord is good! Peter failed, but chose to be forgiven over & over & over. Paul & the disciples were not always correct, but they submitted to grace.  My experience at TSC is the same. All churches are run by humans who are not always speaking for The Lord. If it were a 100% all the time submission we would all eventually end up on auto-pilot. Or end up worshipping the Staff & not The Lord. It's a 'living' word because we have to always be collecting more manna.  I have had The Lord speak directly just to me through the pastors at TSC, I have also witnessed times when I was pretty sure that they were speaking from the flesh. Yes, the Bible says that teachers are held accountable for what they say, but! The hearer is also called to 1.) pray for those in authority 2.) pray for wisdom & insight to know when a word is from The Lord or not 3.) spend time alone with The Lord. (In the banking industry, tellers who are money handlers can tell a counterfeit bill by simply handling lots of legitimate bills, they know the difference through experience.)  There have been times at TSC when I say, "Lord, I think he is speaking in the flesh." & then I lift it up to The Lord. A week later, that same Pastor will admit & apologize for speaking in the flesh. It's The Lord! We are calle...
