A Question about Salvation and Eternal Hell

Hi The Path of Truth

I don’t know how to start so maybe I should explain my experiance with christians and my current beliefs and then ask a question. Basically I come from a family with a Jehovah’s Witness parents and a generic Christian parent. I then went to a bible study fellowship thing for a year and quit that in fury when they explained to us “how could a loving god not send people to eternal hellfire and torment”. Before I quit however I found a website called Bible-Truths.com written up by (your favourite I searched your website before hand) L.Ray Smith. What an amazing website this was where he taught that through judgement all men ever will come to salvation. To me the idea that any man would perish was unjust because many people have good reason to not believe in a good god especially when bible study fellowship teaches that a good god would burn everyone forever and ever. (A huge percentage of the world that has lived was definately not christian)

Anyway enough of that I saw in your correspondance with L.Ray Smith and on your website you’re not a universalist and you disagree with L.Ray on much but you still believe that all men will be saved and I don’t quite understand what you mean and your website has so much. I so badly want to believe that everyone ever will be saved even if they go through judgement and are brought kicking and screaming into eternal life for eternal punishment for much of the human populace is terrifying and not a world I would want to live in forever.

Thanks for your time

Deanington

Hi Deanington,

You ask:

“I saw in your correspondance with L.Ray Smith and on your website you’re not a universalist and you disagree with L.Ray on much but you still believe that all men will be saved and I don’t quite understand what you mean and your website has so much.”

I’d say we agreed with Ray on much, but his relationship with the Lord was the real issue – lacking on account of pride and bitterness, which did him in. That was a sad thing to behold. Of what use was Ray’s doctrine of universal salvation when he wasn’t being saved? We tried to help him.

Nevertheless, Ray will be fully reconciled to God through Jesus Christ and the Word of God we spoke to him. Praise God, His Word doesn’t return to Him void. He works judgment and correction not to be repented of.

So yes, you can believe that all will be saved, Deanington, but make sure to put your trust in the One Who can save you by exercising faith and obedience to Him.

Hebrews 4:1-3 MKJV
(1)  Therefore, a promise being left to enter into His rest, let us fear lest any of you should seem to come short of it.
(2)  For also we have had the Gospel preached, as well as them. But the Word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.
(3)  For we who have believed do enter into the rest, as He said, “I have sworn in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest;” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Keep reading our site to hear and learn more of the True Savior of all Men.

Paul
