Hello my name is Carelis I’m 16 years old and I want to talk you about what I have experienced for the last 5 months. I grew up as a catholic, when I was a kid I did not atended much to mass just in special ocassions, but then in August I started to have horrible thoughts about the Lord that I did not want, they are scary and I always ended up crying, then I found out that it was a form of anxienty called scrupolusity, then I started to read the bible and praying, I went to a evengelican christian church, but it’s now one that has people jumping around or screaming, it’s pretty much quiet and it does not have a lot of members. Still I have worries about salvation and about what I believe because I do not want to be decieved and I’m still read and try to learn about the word, but sometimes I get confused about subjects and teachings, I really want to follow Jesus and I know that it’s not easy but I want to be fertil soil. I also read the testimonies about hell and heaven visions and was wondering if they were true or not. I also have questions:

Can you recommend me a way of studying the bible?

How can I talk to others about Jesus, can you give me a short presentation of the gospel?

I have a problem with the sin of anger and I wrote versicles about it and try to read them and pray , could you suggest another thing to do when feeling angry?

Is it a sin to watch movies, dancing or listening to music?

When does something becomes idolatry?

I heard preachers on tv and read that almost every sin is causes by demons and they talked about curses, is that really true?

I may have more questions but these are what I remember in this moment, thank you for your time and please excuse my grammatical errors I may have since english is not my first lenguaje.

God bless you

Hi Carelis and welcome to our site.

You have many questions here and many more where those came from because the Lord is putting it in your heart to search out the Truth. He’s drawing you to His Son so that you might know Him and be made free.

We needn’t answer those questions at the moment in this letter for at least two reasons: They don’t deal with the issue in your life and two, by drinking Living Water from a Clean Well, which is what ThePathofTruth is all about, your soul will be cleansed, delivered and healed. As Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth will make you free…and when the Son of Man (Jesus) makes you free, you’ll be free indeed.”

Walk away from all those contradictory religious influences; they only confound you and make your spiritual journey unnecessarily difficult and dangerous. Read at ThePathofTruth, read again and read some more. Check out in the Scriptures what we preach and teach. Spend much time here.

As you read and ask the Lord for understanding, you’ll find your questions answered and your various conflicts taking flight. Be patient, believe, and as you learn, the Lord will heal your mind. You’ll be thankful and rejoice in the Lord as you put your trust in Him:

Romans 10:9-11 MKJV

(9)  Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
(10)  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.
(11)  For the Scripture says, “Everyone believing on Him shall not be put to shame.”

If after much attention you still have questions, and you will – everyone has them, write us and Lord willing, we’ll do what we can for you.

Hi Carelis,

This is Marilyn, Victor’s wife. Victor shared your email with me and I have some things to share that I hope will help you.

It’s important to read your Bible. If you’re not familiar with what’s there, start in the New Testament at the book of John, which explains Who Jesus is. Then, read Acts to see what happens with those who believe on Jesus. These experiences are for us to learn from and expect to see happening in our lives.

An important reading for you at The Path of Truth is How One Is Saved. Other writings for you to read are Repentance, What is Faith? and Obedience.

May the Lord Jesus open your eyes and heart to receive His truth and the obedience to walk with Him.

Hi Carelis, Paul here.

Amen – the Lord bless you with His faith!

It sounds like your first language is Spanish; have you found our Spanish translations?

Here are the ones Marilyn suggested:

El Arrepentimiento
Cómo Uno Es Salvo
La Obediencia
¿Qué Es la Fe?
