Knowledge of the Bible Does Not Bring Life

But Life Brings Knowledge of the Bible

We received this response from Tim to The Issues of Life:

Hello,

I’m looking for suggestions, for topics, that can be put onto my New Christian Website:

“Institute of Biblical Knowledge” [now defunct]

I want to improve it, so it is of interest to both Christian, and Non-Christian alike.

The website already contains information to benefit everyone who reads there, but there is far more, I think should be on it.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Paul’s reply:

Tim,

How fitting to have an adherent of Ellen G. White call his or her website the “Institute of Biblical Knowledge”! That is what it was all about to Mrs. White. She was a Bibliolater who taught her adherents to worship the Bible, passing along her perverse spirit to all that follow her, even to this day. It is a spirit of self-righteousness and confidence in carnal knowledge of the Scriptures. That is where you are at, and what you express to others, as for example in this statement:

To create this Web-Site, I just sat down and thought to myself:
If I were to lose out on Eternal life from a lack of Bible knowledge, because I didn’t totally understand certain Bible word-meanings, I can blame no one but myself.

Do I dare risk losing out on Eternal Life, because I failed to understand what the future life will be like?

You attribute eternal life to Bible knowledge. Did Jesus Christ teach that? Is that what His apostles teach?

“And this is the testimony: that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that has the Son has life; he that does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I write to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe in the Name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:11-13 EMTV).

I suppose you eat nutrition books, rather than food, too?

No, Tim, we do not follow Ellen G. White or her god, but the living, resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the Bread from Heaven, Whom we consume, and He consumes us. He is Whom it is all about. It is not about Bible knowledge. It is about the knowledge of God through Jesus Christ. We understand and have true knowledge from the Bible because we know and have Him. Those who do not know Him, such as White and yourself, can never enter eternal life by your studies of the Bible. You can perpetually learn, but you will never come to a knowledge of the truth or eternal life. That life is in Him.

The only thing I can suggest for your site is to scrap it. You need to repent from idolatry and dead works and turn to the living God, the Lord Jesus Christ.

You can hear more of the truth and the true gospel at our site.

Contending for the faith once delivered to the saints,

Paul
