It has been the inclination of man, even before the Fall, to choose worship of anything other than Jesus Christ, the Only One worthy. Why else would Adam and Eve have chosen to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil? Besides every sort of creature or cause, they will worship a man of God, as did the Pharisees Moses; they will worship worshipping, as do all religious people; they will worship doctrine, even true doctrine; and they will worship the Holy Scriptures, which testify of Jesus Christ. As they do all these things, they cast Him aside as less worthy.
Consider the alternative to worshipping the Bible: If in spirit and in truth, you worship the Author of the Bible, you’ll be delivered from idolatry and you will understand as never before the Scriptures you’ve worshipped, to the saving of your soul.
God is Lord of all. He alone is the Master of all destinies; otherwise He is Lord of nothing. Either one has free will, or one does not. Liberty must be total, or it isn’t true liberty - it’s only frustrating torment.
There are many presumed ministers of Christ who teach that God only wants and does the good things that happen to us, never the evil. This is fanciful, flesh-satisfying, anti-Christ doctrine from Hell. We better believe that God is in full control over both good and evil, or we will faint when evil and tribulation come to try us. We need to understand that God is over all things. Otherwise, why are we told to fear Him? “Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God?” (Romans 11:22).
This doctrine is not often preached in nominal Christendom, but it seems a rather strange thing to find so many people professing to be Christians who believe this lie. Yet why should I be surprised to find such in the?church systems, the gates of Hell? Isn’t it written, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird” (Revelation 18:2)?
