False Teachers – Steve Hill & Deon Hockey

Falsehood Written All Over Them

God gives those who don’t receive a love of the truth over to believing a lie. This is how false teachers believe He is with them and that they’re doing His work. Thereby are many falsehoods disseminated in His Name, and those of like spirit, not discerning the error, are brought to their judgment. “The light of the body is the eye. Therefore if your eye is sound, your whole body shall be full of light. But if your eye is evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matthew 6:22-23 MKJV)

A reader asked us:

Hi is deon hockey a fals prophet and why.

Andre

Paul and Victor’s reply:

Hi Andre,

Deon Hockey, as with so many others preaching Christ today, contradicts the One he presumes to represent, displaying numerous marks of a cult. Here are several:

Official Names
Money Solicitation
Depending on Orthodox Doctrine
Healing Services
Specialized Outreach Ministries

Also read about the false god Deon worships – The Trinity.

And a few other Diabolical Doctrines he teaches:

The Second Coming (Christ Is Returning in a Physical Body)
Rapture before the Great Tribulation
Never-ending Torment

True men of God don’t teach error passed on to them by religious men and institutions. Deon Hockey has never learned the truth from God. He may have charisma and a compelling story, but he is not a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ, Whom he has never known.

Paul Cohen and Victor Hafichuk

After sending this e-mail, I looked up Hockey’s mentor, Steve Hill. Hill was the visiting preacher at an “Assembly of God” church in Florida who participated in what was later called the “Brownsville Revival” or “Pensacola Outpouring” in 1995.

This was an event with ties and similarities to the earlier “Toronto Blessing,” another deceitful demonic manifestation alleging godliness, spoken of here in a letter to the pastors and members of a church under its influence:

Letter to the New Life Church in Taber

And this writing briefly, but succinctly, exposes these “revivals” of devils:

The Bottom of the Barrel: A Motley Crew of Demonic Mockers

Steve Hill, like his protégé, Deon Hockey, preached divine healing. Steve died at age 60 earlier this year (2014), many years after being diagnosed with melanoma cancer and undergoing chemo treatments.

What happened to God and His power of healing that these men boastfully declare is readily manifested in their ministries? And why didn’t Deon of “Healing Ministries International” pray for Steve and bring him healing, if Steve couldn’t do so himself?

The simple answer – God isn’t with these men. They’re charlatans – imposters who have bought into their own lies. Either that or God is a liar, which we know He isn’t.

“If My people, who are called by My Name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14 MKJV).

“If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and do that which is right in His eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, your Healer” (Exodus 15:26 ESV).

“And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you knew, will he inflict on you, but he will lay them on all who hate you” (Deuteronomy 7:15 ESV).

Who will you believe – the Lord your God or man?
