Resisting the False Because Resisting the Truth
Tovia Singer zealously tries to protect Jews and their false religion from evangelization by manmade Christianity. Between his own wrongness and that of the religious he contends with, confusion is rife. No light is allowed because Singer rejects the Truth that Jesus Christ is his Messiah and God.
A correspondence in 2008 with Tovia Singer (Idolatrous Judaism):
Below is my response to your recent article in Aish (Evangelizing the Jews).
Also, I listened to your interview on “The Way of the Master.” You are correct that “the trinity” is an unBiblical concept; it is in fact a concoction of pagan gods. Here are some related articles (the first shows how Ray Comfort is false; the others “the trinity”):
And did you know that for denouncing and disproving the trinity, Michael Servetus was burned at the stake by “Christians” led by John Calvin? Here is another important article you should read:
And by the way, Moishe Rosen is a phony. In no way does “Jews for Jesus” represent the Lord Jesus Christ or His Gospel, any more than orthodox Judaism represents the teachings of Moses and the faith of the fathers. Here is my correspondence with Moishe, which took place as a result of the unmasking of another false teacher who calls himself “Messianic,” Daniel Botkin:
Response to “Evangelizing the Jews” (Rejected by Aish)
The author of this article states many errors as though they’re the truth. For example, he calls the Catholic Church, “Christian,” when it has nothing to do with the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. He approves of the Catholic Church because it doesn’t seek to proselytize Jews, rather than calling it what it is, one of the most destructive forces on earth, which has only been forced to reign in its horns since it lost its power to control armies. When the Catholic Church had arms you could forget about being “loved” into their religion; you were drawn at the edge of the sword!
The Protestant churches and Messianic synagogues also have nothing whatsoever to do with the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. Neither do the orthodox or other branches of Judaism have anything to do with Moses and his teachings. All of these religious works are men’s ideas and copies of the living faith described in the Bible, along with perverse additions that aren’t found in the Bible. Man’s religions are totally void of the hallmark of every true servant and messenger of God (and those that follow Him): His directing Presence and wisdom to meet all needs.
For example, the author writes that “the New Testament specifically prioritizes Jews for conversion….when Jesus is instructing his apostles, he warns them, ‘Go not into the way of the gentiles…but only go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.’” That was a specific instruction given at that time, to those particular men to whom Jesus spoke, and not for all time to all believers, as evidenced by Jesus later sending Paul to the Gentiles (and the Gentiles to Peter – Acts 10).
The author’s interpretation is no different than telling Israel they should have been submitting to Saddam Hussein because he was the modern successor of Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of ancient Babylon, to which nation Jeremiah prophesied Israel should submit. But a relationship with God is dynamic and living, His instruction application-specific according to His Spirit. Those who have a form of religion don’t know or hear from the living God, as did Moses and the prophets, and as do we who know Him today.
What is a Jew, anyway? One who goes to synagogue? One who wears tefillin? One who doesn’t eat milk and meat at the same meal, unlike Abraham who served both to God when He came to Abraham as a man (Genesis 18:8)? Neither did Abraham do the other things. What made Abraham a Jew was that he believed God, entrusting his life to Him. How will you then recognize a Jew, unless you have also laid down your life for God?
The author also misquotes Paul, putting these words in his mouth, “Go to the Jew first….” What Paul actually said was this:
“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16 MKJV).
The Jew who had been brought up with an awareness of the Word of God had an advantage over the one that never heard of Him. Paul wasn’t talking about trying to proselytize anyone first, Jew or Gentile. Obviously he would have been violating his own edict if that was the case, for as already mentioned, he was sent by God to the Gentiles. And Paul obeyed, as do all those led of His Spirit. That is true religion and of value in the sight in God.
This is the real issue obscured by the author’s complaint: What matters is whether you know God, hear His voice, and obey Him. That is what Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all experienced. If you are not hearing from God and walking with Him then you are not a son of Abraham by faith. So what if you are a physical son or daughter? Were not those who perished in the wilderness because of their unbelief physical sons and daughters? Were not your fathers and mothers physical sons and daughters of Abraham, though God cast them out of the land?
When you turn to your God with all your hearts and walk with Him, you will have rejected all religions, and all religions will reject you, finding you objectionable, just as your fathers found Jesus Christ.
However, not all Jews rejected Christ. The New Testament is the testimony of Jews who saw the Lamb of God, the Savior and God of Israel Who had come in the flesh to lay down His life for all mankind, and they witnessed His resurrection from the dead. They partook of His power and proclaimed His Name so that He is now known throughout the world, enabling all peoples who call on the Name of God in truth to walk in His Law and have peace with Him and each other.
I agree with you on the Catholic Church. We would have few differences on how demonic we consider the Vatican.
There is no point in me discussing with you “who is a true Christian” because that would be like you discussing who is a true Muslim, a Sunni or a Shiite?
Although Paul declared himself a minister to the gentiles, he sought to convert Jew and gentile using his special technique outlined in I Corinthians 9:20-22:
“To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.
With love of Zion,
Paul wrote back:
Actually, Tovia, we can and do authoritatively identify true Muslims. Because Islam is built on a false foundation – the bogus claim of Muhammad to represent the God of Abraham as His prophet – all of it is false. For this reason, all Sunnis and Shiites equally qualify as true Muslims. Read our Islam section writings.
Truth spawns imitators and pretenders. That’s the case with how Islam came into being, but not with Jesus Christ. That’s the case with the Catholic and all man-made church systems, but not with the Spirit of God and those who worship Him in spirit and in truth.
You’re mistaken that I expect you to understand or know “who is a true Christian.” It’s because you haven’t been able to discern the difference that I’m alerting you to the true, even though I know you will not and don’t believe me.
In the days of Elijah there were many false prophets, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a true prophet in Israel. If someone in Israel at that time had said, “Don’t listen to anyone that speaks in the Name of God, they are all charlatans, every last one of them,” he would have been right most of the time. However, one prophet would make him a liar, and he would be no better off than the false prophets he cynically criticized.
You’ve been hearing from and about the false, but now you’re talking to the real. The real has always been rare, and those who are kept, few:
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and they that are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. A remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto God the Mighty. For though Your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them shall return; an extermination is determined, overflowing with righteousness” (Isaiah 10:20-22 JPS).
You seem to think that what Paul said he did was immoral. You’re wrong. You don’t understand, number one, and number two, you have a vested interest in proving him wrong. You’re not a reliable witness. When it comes to Paul talking to the Jews, you see him as a competitor. But that is not how he sees you. I know, because I have the same Spirit as Paul and am speaking to you as he would.
What Paul was saying was that he would do whatever he could to communicate the grace of God and Gospel of Jesus Christ to those with whom he came into contact and had opportunity to speak. What’s wrong with that? If you were sent by the President to represent the United States as ambassador to Japan, don’t you think you would be aware of the culture to become more effective at fostering an understanding that would serve your government?
In Paul’s case, there was no self-serving agenda for his Government, which is the Kingdom of God. He was there for the welfare of all. Your surmising or implying otherwise is wrong and evil. Paul wasn’t representing the Catholic Church, the Messianic Alliance, or any other organization or even himself. He was sent by God to represent Him, a true servant indeed, and laid down his life in his service to God and man. Many have been saved by the Gospel he preached, both Jew and Gentile.
A document you must read, for, among other things, a realistic assessment of the ministry of Paul versus the complaints of Jews (or Levites like you) against him:
Several years ago someone named Jeff Neckonoff sent us a document with 76 questions deriding the Bible and some of the false teachings men have attributed to the apostles of Christ. Somehow your name was linked with the document. We answered it here: The 76 Jewish Questions.
We have godly, legitimate answers for all your objections, Tovia, not that it’s our mission, purpose, or obligation to answer them. We just want you to know this because it’s true, and we have the evidence to prove it.
We are Zion, whom no man seeks after (Jeremiah 30:17). You certainly have no love for us, do you?
Tovia didn’t respond.
Tovia Singer serves many gods in the name of his Judaism, but none of them are the God of Israel, Lord and Savior. He serves himself and perishes.
From: Paul Cohen To: Marva Dawn Sent: Sunday, September 28, 2008 8:39 AM Subject: Urgent Matter for Ms. Dawn Ms. Dawn, One of your charges, Brad, has been in touch with us regarding my request for removal of a vile pornographic manual on homosexual sex from the Helena, MT Library (see Notice Board). Brad wrote to me after the second hearing taking testimony on the decision to keep the book on the shelf: “How is it you can call yourself a Christian, yet you judge others for their life choices? You prey on the weak of spirit, and pull them into your skewed teachings...” What have you been teaching Brad that he does not know homosexuality is an abomination to God? What have you been filling his mind with that not only does he not know or respect God’s Laws, but he considers anyone who teaches Them to be an adversary to Christ’s followers, which he thinks himself to be, with your assistance? Jesus said something very different about the teaching of God’s Commandments: “Therefore whoever shall relax one of these Commandments, the least, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever shall do and teach Them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 5:19 MKJV). You not only relax the Commandments - you outright despise Them. And you have the audacity to call what you do equipping “both professionals and lay persons for deeper Bible study and more active involvement in Christian life and minis...
We have received several letters accusing us of hate and bitterness. Before God and man, I can honestly and exuberantly declare that we hate no man or woman or any being.
If we can do nothing right, God cannot hold us responsible for doing everything wrong. But if God gives commandments, He also gives the grace to walk therein to each according to his or her need. Here we talk with a Calvinist proclaiming himself a “Monergist,” or one who justifies murder because “only God is righteous.” They ask the saints, “Just who do you think you are that you take God's commandments so seriously and walk in His righteousness?”
