False Teacher – Herod and Pilate Made Friends

Henry Blackaby’s son, Dr. Tom Blackaby – “International Director of Blackaby Ministries International” – contacted us on December 13, 2010 regarding our listing of his father as a false teacher. You can see our correspondence with him here. Tom didn’t respond to our letters, but another of our offended readers, David Thompson, an erring Universalist whom we reproved, saw our posting of correspondence with Tom and contacted him.

Interestingly enough, David had commented on the Blackabys to us previously, before we spoke to him of his error (letter dated December 6, 2010):

Dear Victor,

Today, as I was subbing at a local high school, I was able to read your testimony completely. I now feel I know better where you are coming from in your ministry.

Your time with Henry Blackaby intrigues and instructs me letting me know insights into Blackaby’ s ministry that otherwise I would not know. I have known people on the inside of Jim Bakker’s, Pat Robertson’s and Bennie Hinn’s ministries who have seen things that should shock and disgust the followers of such ministry superstars. But somehow the stardom of such superstars blinds people to the work of the devil in these superstar’s lives and ministries.

I once took a course in group dynamics at Regent University that helped me to understand the evil workings of the flesh in groups of human beings….

But when David found an ally in the Blackabys to help him justify rejecting us and our words to him, his tune changed drastically. As you will see by their correspondence with one another below, these two men, who have greatly conflicting doctrines as professing Christians, licked one another’s wounds, solaced themselves in their emptiness and bitterness, and reviled us. What strange bedfellows bitterness makes in the Name of Jesus Christ!

We would not have known of Tom’s speech against us, had he not corresponded with another of Thompson’s erring acquaintances, Terrance Harris. (Terrance is one who thinks he can please God and attain to what he perceives to be a godly spiritual status by imitating Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr., and Francis of Assisi, three souls whose lives in all self-righteousness have fallen well short of the glory and favor of God.)

Tom Blackaby cc’ed David Thompson, who forwarded Blackaby’s letter to us. It seems Tom wasn’t expecting us to witness his talk against us. In his letter to Terrance on January 28, 2011, he revealed his true nature and that of the Blackaby clan. He wrote:

Terrance, I hope you realize that Hafichuck and Cohen have set themselves apart from the Christian community and really and truly are not interested in the truth at all. Their website is at best deceptive and at worst a tool of Satan designed to confuse, mislead, and slander God’s people. Paranoid Narcissists want attention, engagement and validation, not truth. Their vile ramblings are simply not of God. They in no way seek to build the Kingdom of God rather their goal is blatant slander and vilification of God’s servants. They cannot be reasoned because they are not reasonable people. I have chosen to disengage from them until there is any sense that they wish to be a part of the Christian community rather than serving as accusers and slanderers.
Regards,

Tom Blackaby

I now address Tom’s letter to Terrance concerning the things he had to say about us:

Terrance, I hope you realize that Hafichuck and Cohen have set themselves apart from the Christian community and really and truly are not interested in the truth at all.

Are we not interested in the truth? How is it we are so bold as to speak out publicly, with experiential and Scriptural substance, while Tom speaks behind our backs, afraid to meet us head-on? Is that his idea of walking in the light, which is the truth?

We have most certainly set ourselves apart from Tom Blackaby’s “Christian community,” a part of the nominal orthodox entity otherwise known in the Scriptures as Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots (Revelation 17). Tom’s “Christian community,” unbeknownst to him, is the Harlot, of whom it is said:

“And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with a great marveling” (Revelation 17:6 MKJV).

And: “And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the Great has fallen, has fallen! And it has become the dwelling-place of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a cage of every unclean bird which has been hated, because of the wine of the anger of her fornication which all the nations have drunk. And the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her. And the merchants of the earth became rich from the power of her luxury” (Revelation 18:2-3 MKJV).

And: “And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all those who were slain on the earth” (Revelation 18:24 MKJV).

God has revealed to me that all those found in this great and wondrous woman are guilty of her sins. Solemnly consider the fruits displayed in Tom’s letter to Terrance.

Henry and Tom Blackaby, along with the many million members in good standing with Mystery, have much blood on their hands, the blood of the prophets and saints no less, those very people they praise and quote from their pulpits. As Jesus said of, and to, Henry and Tom and all those with them:

Matthew 23:27-32 MKJV
(27) Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which indeed appear beautiful outside, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
(28) Even so you also appear righteous to men outwardly, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
(29) Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets, and decorate the tombs of the righteous,
(30) and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
(31) Therefore you are witnesses to yourselves, that you are the sons of those who killed the prophets;
(32) and you fill up the measure of your fathers.

We have indeed parted ways with the “Christian community,” as commanded, not the least interested in its version of the truth:

“And I heard another voice from Heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that you may not be partakers of her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues. For her sins joined together, even up to Heaven, and God has remembered her unjust deeds” (Revelation 18:4-5 MKJV).

Tom has been raised and nurtured to proudly believe his “Christian community” is of Christ and represents the truth. But we have proven by the Scriptures and by the Spirit of God that there is nothing further from the truth. The reason we parted ways with the harlot church was not because we weren’t interested in the truth, but because we solemnly were interested and, by God’s grace, were given to take up the cross of Christ for His, the Truth’s, sake. The cross of Christ is something none of those in the comfort of their pews and entertaining church services has ever known. They are the ones not the least interested in the truth.

Tom continues, speaking of ThePathofTruth.com: “Their website is at best deceptive and at worst a tool of Satan designed to confuse, mislead, and slander God’s people.

He offers no substance, only vitriol. Now if those aren’t the true marks of a son of Satan, what are?

Are we deceptive? How so? He doesn’t say. Is our website a tool of Satan designed to confuse? No evidence provided, and our site proves the opposite. Our lives have been laid out and laid down to bring forth the truth. Tom only disagrees because we have exposed his father and him as false teachers.

Who are God’s people? Are they such as those the Lord severely upbraided, those who also thought they were God’s people?:

John 8:39-43 MKJV
(39) They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus answered them, If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.
(40) But now you seek to kill Me, a Man Who has told you the truth which I have heard beside God; this Abraham did not do.
(41) You do the deeds of your father. Then they said to Him, We are not born of fornication; we have one father, even God.
(42) Jesus said to them, If God were your father, you would love Me, for I went forth and came from God; for I did not come of Myself, but He sent Me.
(43) Why do you not know My speech? Because you cannot hear My Word.

Are we slanderers because we reprove the works of darkness, as God commands of us, and because we rebuke those who falsely claim to be His people? I don’t think so. Here are some of those we rebuke:

“Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your Name, and through Your Name throw out demons, and through Your Name do many wonderful works? And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!” (Matthew 7:21-23 MKJV)

In and by the Lord Jesus Christ, we say to the Blackabys and so many others having taken the broad road, “I never knew you! Depart from Me!”

Do our words sound like the words of deception? Do we flatter and speak smooth words? Are we here to impress readers, whether many or few? Are not those to whom we speak guilty of those very things? And why so? Because they are deceived by another Jesus and another gospel. Being snared by Satan’s love and being his children, they are inspired to imitate Jesus Christ or act as they think Christians ought to act, that is, until they are exposed by the light we shine. Then we see their true colors, as they manifest them here.

If we speak contrary to anyone, we speak against Satan’s children, not God’s. We slander nobody, though the prince of darkness accuses us of such. We speak the hard truth prophets must speak, at the cost of our lives; we point out the sins of sinners who presume to worship God with their lips, while their hearts are light years away from Him, even as Isaiah prophesied of them (Isaiah 29:13) and Jesus confirmed his words (Matthew 15:8-9 and Mark 7:6-7).

In his church environment, Tom and his father and brothers are sweet evangelicals, loving and “godly,” as they preach to the choir, but the fire of God comes to reveal that he and they have never known the truth and that their ways are abominable before Him, being the modern day Pharisees and scribes. Their true nature has been exposed. (Isn’t that so, Dr. Tom?)

Tom continues: “Paranoid Narcissists want attention, engagement and validation, not truth. Their vile ramblings are simply not of God.

Now we make use of our psychology studies at seminary, do we? Are we paranoid? Is that why we write publicly and boldly bear testimony before all, laying down our lives in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the most hated Name on earth?

No, we aren’t here to gain attention for ourselves, as Tom surmises, but we are here to get the attention of all those who want the truth, those who pretend to have the truth, those who presume to have it but don’t, and those who must be inspired to know the truth that they might be delivered from their destructives.

Do we want validation? We have it, from the best source of all – the Lord Jesus Christ. His is the only validation we want, the only validation needful and worth having. He has brought us to the cross, into the grave and up again in His Resurrection Life, none of which Tom Blackaby and his father know about.

They have their seminary doctorates, pretentious documents that are toilet paper in God’s sight – toilet paper soiled by one with religious oral diarrhea from an unregenerate heart. As the prophet says:

“But we are all as the unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruation cloth. And we all fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away” (Isaiah 64:6 MKJV).

Now perhaps Tom can say we speak vile ramblings. Will he say that of Isaiah, too? And of John the Baptist?

“Then [John] said to the crowd that came forth to be baptized by him, O generation of vipers! Who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones” (Luke 3:7-8 MKJV).

Little did Tom and his father know John was speaking to them! Yet they call themselves “Baptists,” as though they have any part with him.

They in no way seek to build the Kingdom of God rather their goal is blatant slander and vilification of God’s servants. They cannot be reasoned because they are not reasonable people.

What makes Tom think they are God’s servants? Has their righteousness exceeded that of the Pharisees? We are in Heaven and we see they don’t have on a wedding garment. Tom and Henry Blackaby, we throw you out of the feast. You have no business here.

Tom is right; he will not be able to reason with us on this matter. Indeed, he hasn’t been able to reply to us. Isn’t it because he is discovered to be without official Heavenly invitation to the marriage feast of the Son, and he is speechless in his exposure?

Matthew 22:8-14 MKJV
(8) Then he said to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they who were invited were not worthy.
(9) Therefore go into the exits of the highways, and as many as you shall find, invite them to the marriage.
(10) So the servants went out into the highways and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. And the wedding was filled with reclining guests.
(11) And the king coming in to look over the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment.
(12) And he said to him, Friend, how did you come in here without having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
(13) Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
(14) For many are called, but few chosen.

I have chosen to disengage from them until there is any sense that they wish to be a part of the Christian community rather than serving as accusers and slanderers.

Tom has been tossed out, not being an honest man, but one in whom is much error and guile. He and his father and brothers are fraudulent messengers, part of men’s systems of works that serve to destroy.

“Concerning the works of men, by the word of Thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer” (Psalms 17:4 KJV).

If that is accusation and slander we speak, so be it, we are guilty. But know this: The truth will come to light. We can all count on that:

“For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad” (Luke 8:17 KJV).

The time has come for you and yours, Tom.

Here is David Thompson’s reply to Tom Blackaby (as I said, bitterness makes curious bedfellows in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ):

Tom,

Thank you for tuning me in to your correspondence with Terrance Harris. When I first became aware that Hafichuk and Cohen were revealing my conversations with them about Terrance on their website, I was a bit shocked and miffed. I felt it was a violation of my privacy and confidence that they would never do such a thing. But after thinking about it and seeing how Terrance and you have responded to it, I think it is all for the good. What Satan meant for evil, God has turned to good. Terrance is a fine young true believer in Jesus with a very well developed mind. I am in agreement with Terrance with respect to his belief and knowledge about Dr. Martin Luther King being a great prophet of God and in total disagreement with what Hafichuk and Cohen say about Dr. King. I am likewise in full agreement with what you say about Hafichuk and Cohen. They are truly narcissistic pawns of the devil who have difficulty in discerning truth from error. They operate mostly in their carnal mind which is death.

Sorry you have become involved with Victor and Paul. You no doubt have better things to occupy your valuable time.

May the Lord continue to bless you richly according to his riches in glory,

David Thompson
West Palm Beach

David Thompson wrote Tom, saying, “When I first became aware that Hafichuk and Cohen were revealing my conversations with them about Terrance on their website, I was a bit shocked and miffed. I felt it was a violation of my privacy and confidence that they would never do such a thing.

The fact is David challenged us to post what he was writing us. We met his challenge and now he complains. Has he forgotten? Here it is:

Dear Paul and Victor,

…I challenge you to post this response on your website and to see how many witnesses there are that agree with me….

And so we posted his response and our correspondence, not to answer his challenge, as if we had any vain hope that false witnesses such as Tom Blackaby would agree with us, but to expose David’s deadly error. In the process of exposing that error, all the better if the net we cast catches other false teachers like the Blackabys. Let all the tares be gathered for burning by God’s holy fire, and let those for the truth be delivered from the potential grip and consequences of the leaven of religious hypocrites. Amen! Praise the Lord!

Victor Hafichuk
