“Do You Believe This???” – Asking
the Wrong Question
We received this mass e-mail (click HERE to
skip to Victor's reply):
Do You Believe This???
A girl went to her friends house and she ended up staying longer than
planned, and had to walk home alone... She wasn’t afraid because it was
a small COMMUNITY and she lived only a few blocks away.
As she walked along under the bike trail Diane asked God to keep her safe
from harm and danger..
When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided
to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the
end as though he were waiting for her.
She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God’s protection.
Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her,
she felt as though someone was walking with her.
When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived
home safely.
The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped
in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there.
Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her,
she began to weep.
Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided
to go to the police station.
She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story.
The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if
she could identify him.
She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the
night before.
When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and
confessed.
The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything
they could do for her.
She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to
why he had not attacked her.
When the policeman asked him, he answered, ‘Because she wasn’t
alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her.’
Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you’re not alone. ( people )
will not stand up for God......
Send this and make the subject the name of (your city) if you truly believe
in God.....
PS: God is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what
‘If you deny me in front of your friends, I shall deny you in front
of my Father’
STAND UP FOR HIM
93% of people wont pass this on.... Will you be one of them???
Victor’s reply:
To all who received this “amazing story” letter:
Is this story really true? It could be, but I highly doubt it is. There is
more than one problem with it. More likely it is the product of an active imagination,
yet another of many sappy stories circulated by would-be do-gooder “believers,” who
think to glorify themselves or even serve God by telling tall tales, possibly
mixed with truth.
My doubt isn’t because I don’t believe in God or that He protects
by angels. The Bible clearly testifies of angelic protection and I have experienced
personal supernatural protection for myself and others on several occasions.
I have also been promised prophetically more than once and by more than one
that a mighty angel has been assigned to protect me, and I have needed and
do need that protection. Go to our site, thepathoftruth.com, and see why for
yourself, if you can.
Is God always “in your heart” as the messenger says? Is this message
for believers only, or for all? It does not say. Many believe the lie that
all are children of God. Read Are All Persons
Children of God? to learn otherwise.
Perhaps one might assume that this letter was sent only to believers, but
the fact is that it is in the very nature of a true believer to be
a witness unto the Lord, which he or she can only do by the Spirit of God, the Begetter
(Father) of the new nature:
“But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you
shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria,
and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8 MKJV).
If one is born again through Jesus Christ, that one has a new nature, that
is, a new heart and, yes, God is there, and so is the angel assigned to that
person. That person with the new heart will not be able to do anything but
declare the risen Christ to others; that is the nature of the resurrection
in Christ. He or she will testify of Jesus Christ though commanded not to do
so, at the risk of corporeal punishment, never mind encouraged to do so, as
this letter tries to do:
“And they called them and commanded them not to speak at all, nor to
teach in the Name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, Whether
it is right before God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we
cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:18-20
MKJV).
Consider that Peter denied the Lord three times before he was born again,
but when he received the Spirit at Pentecost, he boldly stood up and publicly
preached Jesus Christ, and continued from there in all faithfulness.
Dogs bark, birds fly, and hens lay eggs, not because they are required to
do so, but because it is in them, and they cannot prevent it. If one has not
experienced the genuine gift of repentance and the new
birth of God, then you
may as well expect a rabbit to lay eggs as expect someone who does not have
the heavenly nature to testify of God and Jesus Christ. (By the way, contrary
to Easter tradition, rabbits do not lay eggs.)
To whom does God give this supernatural protection? Here is what the Bible
says:
“But to which of the angels, did He say at any time, ‘Sit on My
right hand until I make Your enemies Your footstool?’ Are they not all
ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of
salvation?” (Hebrews 1:13-14 MKJV)
Little or nothing is said in this letter of sin, repentance, confession, faith,
or obedience toward God in all things (without which, confessing His Name is
an empty exercise). These all have their place of paramount importance, being
essential principles of the Kingdom of Heaven. They are of absolute necessity
before God, not only so one will be protected, but so He is loved, served,
and glorified.
