Something came up recently, and these words, "I want to do things right before the Lord," sparked these thoughts:
Those words sound like if we please the Lord, things will go well for us. While that is true, it could also be false, depending on the understanding and motive. We aren't here to be sycophants or pleasers. We are so prone to please, this being a very selfish thing indeed. Primarily, we seek to please people, so we'll be accepted by them or benefitted somehow.
We then presume to do the same with God, like Cain did. He was a pleaser! And where did it get him? Abel didn't bring a sacrifice to please God. He brought it because he knew it was right. Had his sacrifice been rejected, he wouldn't have felt badly, as did Cain. He would have sought for the right way (of course, the reason his sacrifice was accepted was because his heart was right, and therefore he could not but be accepted). However, Cain was offended: "Well, if that's the thanks I get, phooey on God! I won't believe in Him anymore!" We have heard that many times.
We are called to do right because it is right, whether pleasing to anyone or not. We are here to choose the successful and true right, the one and only kind of right there is, and not what we ignorantly and foolishly imagine and choose to be right, in that it is selfishly advantageous. Choosing right, things will go well for us. Choosing to please, we destroy those we pretend to please (not that we can destroy God, of course, but we grieve Him), and we destroy ourselves.
God isn't asking us to please Him. Where in the Bible does one find God wanting us to please Him? It isn't there! Did you know? He isn't primarily interested in His own welfare and feelings. He wants to see things go well for us, and He has shown, and is showing, us how that can and must be because He cares for us.
God is called "Love" because He cares about us over Himself. That is the nature of true love. When we do right and things go well for us, then He'll be pleased. He'll be satisfied because we are fulfilled and satisfied in reality, by His satisfaction and not by the destructive, blind-alley kind of satisfaction that comes out of self-serving lack of knowledge and understanding.
What an incredibly hideous spectacle unfolded before the world as humans, turned vicious, ravenous brute beasts, actively and passively, directly and indirectly, willingly and unwillingly, performed their unspeakable horrors on the Jewish people. We have seen what happened in this dimension: Out of the ashes of the departed, a nation was reborn on the earth of those left behind. But what happened to the Jews taken away in the Holocaust? Where did they go? What was their lot beyond the gas chambers, ovens, and graves?
As I took a walk in the afternoon of March 17, 2011 to get some sun, air, and exercise, a thought suddenly came to me that I have to say was revelation from God. I was amazed at it, and thrilled, never having even considered the matter before. Perhaps what came to me was introduced or triggered by a book Marilyn and I had just begun reading, Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl, a book I would recommend.
Here’s what came to me: Through the portal of the Holocaust, all those Jews who perished as a race or religion, and not because of wrongdoing, immediately entered the sheer and glorious bliss of paradise! As evil as it was and as awful as it looked on this side, it was and is so good and glorious on the other. Those who perished were finally the fortunate ones indeed. Take heart, remnant of the Jewish nation – your loved ones are blessed indeed.
The Jews as a people had atoned, or more accurately, had been atoned, for their sin by their great and final leg of a millennia-long journey of great injustice and suffering at the hands of the Gentiles. They have paid the price Moses prophesied they would for their sins. This has not been by any virtue of their own, but by the sovereign will and work of their God, the God of Israel, the Creator of the whole earth, Yeshua HaMashiach, the One they crucified and rejected nearly 2,000 years ago and since.
Here is a vivid description from the Torah of the recent history of the Jews, which is now coming to an end in this generation:
Deuteronomy 28:15-68 MKJV
(15) And it shall be, if you will not listen to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe and to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, all these curses shall come on you and overtake you.
(16) You shall be cursed in the city, and cursed in the field.
(17) Your basket and your store shall be cursed.
(18) The fruit of your body shall be cursed, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your cows, and the flocks of your sheep.
(19) You shall be cursed when you come in, and cursed when you go out.
(20) The LORD shall send on you cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed, and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings by which you have forsaken Me.
(21) The LORD shall make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from off the land where you go to possess it.
(22) The LORD shall strike you with lung disease and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew. And they shall pursue you until you perish.
(23) And your heavens over your head shall be bronze, and the earth that is under you iron.
(24) The LORD shall make the rain of your land powder and dust. It shall come down from the heavens on you until you are destroyed.
(25) The LORD shall cause you to be stricken before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a trembling to all the kingdoms of the earth.
(26) And your body shall be food to all birds of the air, and to the beasts of the earth. And no man shall frighten them away.
(27) The LORD will strike you with the boils of Egypt, and with the hemorrhoids, and with the scab, and with the itch, of which you cannot be healed.
(28) The LORD shall strike you with madness and blindness, and astonishment of heart.
(29) And you shall grope at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall always be pressed down and spoiled forever, and no man shall save you.
(30) You shall become engaged to a wife, and another man shall lie with her. You shall build a house, and you shall not live in it. You shall plant a vineyard, and you shall not gather the grapes of it.
(31) Your ox shall be slain before your eyes, and you shall not eat of it. Your ass shall be violently taken away from before your face, and shall not be restored to you, your sheep given to your enemies, and you shall have none to rescue them.
(32) Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, and your eyes shall look and fail for them all the day long. And there shall be no power in your hand.
(33) The fruit of your land, and all your labors, shall be eaten up by a nation which you do not know. And you shall always be oppressed and crushed,
(34) and you shall be mad because of that which you shall see with the sight of your eyes.
(35) The LORD shall strike you in the knees and in the legs with an evil ulcer that cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the top of your head.
(36) The LORD shall bring you, and your king which you shall set over you, to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known. And there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone.
(37) And you shall become an astonishment, a proverb, and a by-word among all nations where the LORD shall lead you.
(38) You shall carry much seed out into the field, and shall gather little in, for the locust shall eat it.
(39) You shall plant vineyards and dress them, but shall neither drink the wine nor gather, for the worm shall eat them.
(40) You shall have olive trees throughout all your coasts, but you shall not anoint with the oil, for your olive shall drop off its fruit.
(41) You shall father sons and daughters, but you shall not enjoy them, for they shall go into captivity.
(42) All your trees and the fruit of your land the locust shall possess.
(43) The stranger within you shall get up above you very high, and you shall come down very low.
(44) He shall loan to you, and you shall not loan to him. He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.
(45) And all these curses shall come on you, and shall pursue you and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not listen to the voice of the LORD your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you.
(46) And they shall be on you for a sign and for a wonder, and on your seed forever.
(47) Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart for the abundance of all things;
(48) therefore you shall serve your enemies which the LORD shall send against you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in the lack of all things. And He shall put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you.
(49) The LORD shall bring a nation against you from far, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flies; a nation whose tongue you shall not understand,
(50) a nation fierce of face who shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young.
(51) And he shall eat the fruit of your cattle and the fruit of your land, until you are destroyed. He shall not leave you grain, wine, or oil, the increase of your livestock, or flocks of your sheep, until he has destroyed you.
(52) And he shall besiege you in all your gates until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down, throughout all the land. And he shall besiege you in all your gates throughout all your land which the LORD your God has given you.
(53) And you shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, which the LORD your God has given you, in the siege and in the anguish with which your enemies shall distress you.
(54) The man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the rest of his sons which he has left;
(55) so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his sons whom he shall eat, because he has nothing left to him in the siege and in the anguish with which your enemies shall distress you in all your gates.
(56) The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not have ventured to set the sole of her foot on the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
(57) and toward her young one who comes out from between her feet, and toward her sons whom she shall bear. For she shall eat them secretly for lack of all things, in the siege and anguish with which your enemies shall distress you in your gates.
(58) If you will not observe to do all the words of this Law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful Name, THE LORD YOUR GOD,
(59) then the LORD will make your plagues remarkable, and the plagues of your seed great and persistent plagues; with evil and long-lasting sicknesses.
(60) Also, He will bring on you all the diseases of Egypt of which you were afraid. And they shall cling to you.
(61) Also, every sickness and every plague which is not written in the book of this Law, the LORD will bring them on you until you are destroyed.
(62) And you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of the heavens for multitude, because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God.
(63) And it shall be, as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good and to multiply you, so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you and to bring you to nothing. And you shall be plucked from off the land where you go to possess it.
(64) And the LORD shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even to the other, and you shall serve other gods there, which neither you nor your fathers have known, wood and stone.
(65) And among these nations you shall find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest. But the LORD shall give you there a trembling heart and failing of eyes and sorrow of mind.
(66) And your life shall hang in doubt before you, and you shall fear day and night, and shall have no assurance of your life.
(67) In the morning you shall say, Oh that it were evening! And at evening you shall say, Oh that it were morning, for the fear of your heart with which you shall fear, and for the sight of your eyes which you shall see.
(68) And the LORD shall bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way of which I said to you, You shall see it no more again. And there you shall be sold to your enemies for men-slaves and women-slaves, and no man shall buy you.
So has it been, even as the Lord spoke by Moses. But now a new day has been dawning since the Holocaust, a day best described in the first portion of this chapter in Deuteronomy (which is not recorded here - see Deuteronomy 28:1-14). This is in spite of the great threatenings the world over towards the Jews from Satan and his murderous subjects. And as those Jews have entered blessed paradise from the horrors of the Holocaust, so the Jews on earth will experience blessedness they have never known, not even in the days of Moses, Joshua, David, or Solomon.
“Behold, [the Messiah] comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and those who pierced Him will see Him, and all the kindreds of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen” (Revelation 1:7 MKJV).
There will finally be righteousness, victory, justice, peace, and joy in their hearts and minds, and in all their homes, and they will know that the Lord their God has redeemed them from the sword, from darkness, fear, the power of the evil one, and from themselves. With them, the entire world will be redeemed and blessed:
“For if their casting away is the reconciling of the world, what is the reception except life from the dead?” (Romans 11:15 MKJV)
We sent this letter to the Members of Parliament of the Government of Canada, regarding GMO alfalfa:
Ladies and Gentlemen,
You have been duped. Chemical agricultural companies such as Monsanto have persuaded you into supporting a monopolistic, tyrannical, pseudo-scientific agenda that punishes Canadian farmers and consumers alike.
Not only are measures such as approving genetically-modified alfalfa inimical to the present health of our environment and society, they are planting the literal seeds of destruction for the future.
There are many reliable and competent scientific sources that denounce genetically modified organisms with a mountain of valid evidence. These sources can provide you with data and arguments that prove the utter folly of your present course.
We urge you to fulfill your duty by fully searching out the matter and becoming responsibly informed, not taking only the fox’s word that he can ably guard the henhouse. As it stands, you are spreading destruction in your ignorance and negligence.
It was with some degree of interest that I began to look into the 2011 World Tapping Summit recently. After all, there was talk of people experiencing life changing and, in some cases, almost “miraculous” healings with everything from weight loss to money issues.
While listening to one of the presentations, I began to tap along on one of my problems—an obsession with food. I didn’t have any immediate “eureka” moments, but a day or two later, I thought I knew the reason for my problem and was on my way to freedom. I had been suppressing other cravings, so I turned to food to satisfy my desires. Made sense… or did it? I sent off an e-mail to Victor and Paul, my friends and mentors, describing my experience.
Paul responded to my newfound “freedom” with a question, “…you're saying that tapping made you aware you have gone into bondage to food by repressing sexual thoughts. If so, now what?”
It got me thinking, “Wait a minute. Didn’t I pray to God, asking Him to take care of that about a year ago, thanking Him for, and accepting, my singleness?” Wasn’t that the real explanation for the absence of lustful thoughts?
Does tapping really help us gain emotional freedom, or is it merely us trying to pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps? If emotions are the problem, is digging further into our emotions the answer? It isn’t psychoanalysis that will win the day. Faith in and obedience to God will.
I’m not disputing that tapping can have benefit for some, if for no other reason than that it encourages one to tell the truth. In listening to some of the sessions over the first few days, I heard things that helped create an awareness of things in my life, but it also conjured up a lot of thoughts that I didn’t know how to deal with. A lot of non-issues. If I didn’t have wise teachers to set me straight, I could have been looking for answers in all the wrong places.
What are emotions, anyway? Can they be trusted? How have I approached many things in life? By my feelings. And where have they gotten me? They get you UP, and then get you DOWN! But do they get you forward?
Recently I have made some decisions that have gone contrary to my feelings, doing things I knew to be right, regardless of whether I was comfortable with them. I can attest to the results. Do we wish to be governed by our feelings? Or is there a better way?
What does the Bible have to say about our feelings?
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).
“For the wicked boasts of his heart's cravings. He blesses the greedy, and condemns the LORD. The wicked, in the pride of his face, has no room in his thoughts for God” (Psalms 10:3-4 HNV).
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? I, the LORD, search the mind, I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings” (Jeremiah 17:9-10 HNV).
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
Not the kind of emotions we typically want to foster—dependence, brokenness, and contrition.
It’s true that many of our physical problems have an emotional root; this has been proven in study after study. This being the case, where can we start? Why not start by giving thanks?
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6).
This leaves psychotherapeutic processes or techniques in the dust, hands down. Those who have the Lord, and walk with Him, have all these psychotherapy issues taken care of in the best possible way! Instead of getting “tapped out” trying to uncover your emotions, the Source taps into you.
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to your navel, and marrow to your bones” (Proverbs 3:6-8).
Tapping uses several positive techniques. Acupressure points are known to accumulate energy blockages that need to be released to allow free flow through the body. It also encourages those tapping to tell the truth, to set goals, and to forgive others—valuable principles in and of themselves.
Victor, Paul, and I watched the EFT Rwandan video, which showed young survivors of the Rwandan genocide using tapping to address emotional issues. Could it be that the healing experienced by the orphans was due to exercising forgiveness? Forgiveness is a powerful tool. So is honesty, especially honesty about ourselves. Think of what could happen if these children went a step further, thanking the Lord for their circumstances, and further still, learning to trust and obey Him!
This is the only way peace can come to the world.

Victor adds: When I first looked into this tapping therapy, I recognized some value in it. However, as I examined it further, I realized that the believer’s principles of acceptance of one’s circumstances and giving thanks for them are far more powerful and effective. It has been my pleasure and privilege to turn midnight to high noon within minutes, if not seconds, just by giving God thanks and praise for tough situations within and without. What could be more powerful than that?
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise; give thanks unto Him, and bless His Name. For the LORD is good; His mercy endures for ever; and His faithfulness unto all generations” (Psalms 100:4-5 JPS).
This I know: When we acknowledge our Lord and Savior, not only with our lips, but with our lives, He honors us and delivers us from all our fears. Read Acceptance.
Paul adds: A problem with tapping is that knowledge outpaces wisdom. It forces you to take the lead position in charting your course, rather than relying on God:
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7 KJV).
Victor responds to this quote by Wayne Dyer – “Everything you are against weakens you. Everything you are for empowers you.” - Dr. Mercola’s “Quote of the Day”:
Can one wisely make such an all-encompassing statement as does Dyer? How is it Mercola posts it? Is not Mercola against Big Pharma, vaccinations, Monsanto, conventional farming, high fructose corn syrup, factory farming, the FDA, Obama’s “healthcare” program, GMOs....? He must be awfully weak by now.
Isn’t it a matter of what one is against or for? I think we understand what Dyer might be saying: He may be speaking of attitude. We have met people who are just plain miserable, against anything and everything. If we are negative and faultfinding, we become our own victims. Criticizing kills the critic; as you sow, you reap.
But he may be speaking from New Age philosophy, where apparent principles of virtue are praised and applied without understanding, discretion, or wisdom - “We are all Divine. Aren’t we all nice? Be nice! Love everything! Don’t judge!” Perhaps there is another reasonable interpretation of the quote, but that would depend on one’s reasoning and perspective, and not on the words themselves.
As the quote stands, Paul and I are not just weak, we are dead, dead, dead! So are all the prophets. So is God!
God is against pride (His pet peeve): “Behold, I am against you, O proud ones, says the Lord God of Hosts; for your day has come, the time that I will judge you” (Jeremiah 50:31 MKJV).
God is against political, economic, social, and religious tyranny and those who come against Israel (His people, physical or spiritual): “Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, says the LORD, Who destroys all the earth. And I will stretch out My hand on you and roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burned mountain” (Jeremiah 51:25 MKJV).
God is against His own people when they walk in sin: “Therefore so says the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, am against you, and will carry out judgments in your midst before the nations” (Ezekiel 5:8 MKJV).
God is against vanity and lies (He will not tolerate any deceit or falsehood): “Therefore so says the Lord God: Because you have spoken vanity and seen a lie, therefore, behold, I am against you, says the Lord God” (Ezekiel 13:8 MKJV).
Again, He is against His own nation, people, and community when it sins (we are not exempt): “And say to the land of Israel, So says the LORD: Behold, I am against you, and will draw out My sword out of its sheath and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked” (Ezekiel 21:3 MKJV). (Everybody suffers, even the righteous!)
He is against all sinners and against the enemies of Israel (God’s people): “And I will pour out My disgust on you; with the fire of My wrath I will blow against you, and give you into the hand of burning men, able to destroy” (Ezekiel 21:31 MKJV).
He is against the works, pomp, and tyranny of the world: “Speak and say, So says the Lord God: Behold, I, even I, am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon who lies in the midst of his rivers, who has said, My river is mine, and I have made it” (Ezekiel 29:3 MKJV).
He is against the things of the flesh (Esau represents the flesh, the unchosen - sow to the flesh and you reap destruction): “And say to it, So says the Lord God: Behold, O Mount Seir, I am against you, and I will stretch out My hand against you, and I will make you a ruin and a waste” (Ezekiel 35:3 MKJV).
He is against enemies far away - present day Russia and Iran and Ethiopia and Libya, all those who will, and already do, come against Israel (His people, physical or spiritual): “And say, So says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the chief ruler of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal” (Ezekiel 38:3 MKJV).
He was against Israel itself for its sins (because they were His didn’t mean they could do as they pleased): “Hear this Word which I take up against you, a dirge, O house of Israel” (Amos 5:1 MKJV).
He once saved all of Nineveh, but then He turned against it and destroyed it (one cannot say, “I’m saved,” then go and sin, as so many believe and teach today): “Behold, I am against you, says the LORD of Hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions. I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall be heard no more” (Nahum 2:13 MKJV).
“Behold, I am against you, says the LORD of Hosts; and I will uncover your skirts upon your face. And I will cause the nations to see your nakedness, and the kingdoms your shame” (Nahum 3:5 MKJV).
He is against all our enemies that are close at hand: “Woe to the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! The Word of the LORD is against you: Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will destroy you, so that no inhabitant survives” (Zephaniah 2:5 MKJV).
He is against lukewarmness: “But I have against you that you left your first love” (Revelation 2:4 MKJV).
He is most definitely and vehemently against fornication (physical and spiritual): “But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the teachings of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit fornication” (Revelation 2:14 MKJV).
He is against all those who tolerate fornication: “But I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel to teach, she saying herself to be a prophetess, and to cause My servants to go astray, and to commit fornication, and to eat idol-sacrifices” (Revelation 2:20 MKJV).
Our friend Eric wrote us, saying: “I’ve come to accept where I am and am still finding out who I am. I believe that knowledge and acceptance for both where and who I am will come in His time.”
That’s an interesting subject, don’t you think? Just who are you, beyond all the things you think and do? Who is the real essential “you” that will remain, perhaps still waiting to emerge, when this life is over? What we have here, in this world, is only the scaffolding, not the enduring structure that is being built by God. More from Victor on this central purpose of our existence, becoming ourselves!
From Victor:
Hi Eric!
Years ago, the Lord revealed to me that salvation was all about becoming the real me that He originally intended. It was becoming free to be just me, not what I thought, pretended, wished I was, or hoped to be, and not somebody else, like some billionaire, movie star, or "great man of God." We all have ambitions, delusions of grandeur, pipe dreams, and silly wishes, all these coming from within, from the proud, independent, so very foolish carnal man, the self, the ego, the guy who, in Adam, walked away from God, deciding he could do it on his own - that man of sin, the son of perdition.
In effect, we lie to ourselves. And all the time we try or pretend to be something we're not, we suffer failure, loss, defeat, and humiliation in varying degrees. We continuously suffer disappointment, frustration, and disillusionment (we are in a continual state of illusion). In our horrid selfishness, we hurt ourselves and everyone around us, 24/7. It is that Death and Hell the Scriptures talk about, a horrible prison where we pay every penny for our lawlessness, for our refusal to acknowledge and appreciate our Maker, Jesus Christ.
So He died to deliver us. He subjected Himself to Death and Hell personally, directly, that He might bring us up and out of there. To leave Death and Hell ironically entails death - death to what we thought we wanted, and death to what we were in - that terrible state we called "life," that state we, in our madness, clung to as so precious and promising. In the state of sin and separation from God, we are in a state of being delirious and delusional, though sincerely thinking quite otherwise - that we are intelligent and rational; in our darkness, we don't have a clue about the reality of things.
Worse still, we even find ourselves enjoying our chosen path of self-destruction, we encourage all those around us in it, and we spend our existence digging our pit ever deeper! Isn't that crazy? But it's true! That's the way it is. That's the madness of sin and separation from our God. And to comfort ourselves (because we know we also suffer), we set up other gods. We do things to occupy, entertain, and relieve ourselves in our death, darkness, and insecurity.
Without Christ, what we have called “life” is a living nightmare, a continual state of being surrounded or pursued by some danger, constantly trying to escape, but finding we are on a treadmill going nowhere fast, or that the enemy is just a bit faster and smarter. And should we temporarily get what we are after, we are destined to lose it, or we live in the fear of losing it, which is as bad, or worse. This is the lot of all men on earth without the sure and personal connection to their Maker. And they don't know it.
So in His chosen time and way, Jesus comes to turn us around 180 degrees, upside down, and inside out. As Peter could not see himself being crucified right side up when his time came, so we die with Him upside down, not worthy to die right side up as He did. Get that? We aren't worthy to die, to identify with Him in any way, but He accepts us anyway. That's love. That's mercy. That's grace.
And all of these things the world calls madness or fantasy or escapism, and despises them, but we know these things to be true, having experienced them for ourselves. And we aren't the only ones. Many have gone before us, including those who wrote the Bible, testifying to these very things and willing to lay down their lives, so that others might enter into life as well.
Now I am free to be me, the guy God intended me to be. I have peace, power to live, and fulfillment in Jesus Christ, Who redeemed me from the grave. He took away my bitterness and shame and fears. He paid off my debts to Him and fellow man. He awakened me from my sleep of nightmares to a reality of cool, comforting breezes and sunshine, and has placed me in a verdant, fruitful garden with beautiful flora, birds singing, and a fresh brook of sparkling water - all things pleasant and enjoyable. He cleaned me up to enjoy these things and has set me firmly on a rock foundation that can never be moved or shaken. He put a new song in my mouth and in my heart. And He has called me to help guide whoever will to that same place, that same state of being.
So far, few have come, but that's okay, because each person has his/her appointed time. Meanwhile, they must suffer their chosen way. When they are made ready by their trials and circumstances to choose a better way, they will come. That's the way it was for me. "Hot shot" Hafichuk to "holy" Hafichuk. The world loved the former and hates the latter, but I wouldn't trade my change anymore than I would trade a sumptuous, delicious banquet of the finest and most wholesome foods for dog dung. Honestly, without exaggeration, that is the way it is. And I thought I had something before Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life introduced Himself to me nearly 40 years ago. Wow!
I write this for you, Eric, I write it (just now come to think of it) for all the timber framers who spent weeks with us, and I write it for all. God is great. To know that, we need to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe that God has raised Him from the dead. Confessing it with our lips and believing it in our hearts, He raises us from the dead and proceeds to set us up to reign with Him on His throne in the heavenlies. What a change! What madness of thought to the world! What reality! What deliverance from a nightmarish existence to dreams come true! The delusioned call it delusion and the enlightened call it reality.
That's the way it is for me. That's the way God will make it for those He calls and chooses, even as the Bible, that most hated Book of books, testifies. It can't get better than that.
Last month, we received this note at ThePathofTruth.com (sent by littlemailboy@...):
Your group is a cult by definition not only do you attack the KJV and living right and the gifts of the Spirit of God (which is obvious evidence that you have not the Spirit I testify to you I have been saved from sin continued in the word of God and received the second work of grace the baptism in the Holy Ghost it's all clearly in scriptures. How many sins are you living in daily pride contention rebellion heresy? Sir the Godhead is clearly in scripture For there are three that bear record in heaven and these three are one 1 John 5:7 (KJV) do you even have a prayer life? No you do not have a real relationship with God as you do not bear forth the fruit. Too sad you attack other ministries as cults. Are you a lutharin OSAS believe? Once saved always saved is a doctrine of devils as it is lascivious (licentious) to licence people to sin you need to continue to repent of sin and be under a pastor! Your off wayward and lost and twist scriptures to your own destruction friend you need to be saved!
Our reply:
"Little mail boy,"
If the fruits you demonstrate in this letter come from being under a pastor, then woe to that pastor, and you would be far better off without one.
What are your fruits? Confusion, misunderstanding of what we really do teach, presumption, bitterness, ignorance, false accusation, and incoherence, to mention a few. If your prayer life does this to you, perhaps you should examine who it is you are praying to.
Furthermore, you refuse to identify yourself, while we openly teach what we teach, which isn't what you think we teach. We come to the light, while you hide in the shadows.
"For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who practices truth comes to the Light so that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God" (John 3:20-21 MKJV).
And in all your darkness and confusion, you say WE are a cult? Do you really think we can believe you?
"Little mail boy," you need help badly, and only the Risen Christ can do that for you. As for a need to be saved, try reading How One Is Saved. You are certainly indoctrinated, but you are far from the Kingdom of God.
Jesus Christ is Lord!
Victor
That note from “little mail boy” was a good example of the mail we get from false accusers who have no understanding of what we teach, not knowing or recognizing the Lord Whom we preach.
When contacting us, “little mail boy” didn’t tell us he had contacted us before under the name "Brother Jerry." Click HERE to read our previous conversation where we also pointed out his sin and need of Jesus Christ.
“I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all” (Ecclesiastes 9:11 MKJV).
I received revelation on the word “chance” in this version.
Another version is pretty much on the money:
“I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the mighty; nor even bread to the wise; nor even riches to the men of discernment; nor even favor to knowing men. For time and occurrence happen to them all” (Ecclesiastes 9:11 LITV).
What that verse is saying is that nothing happens by our power; God does it all, “chance” meaning “fate” or “all things are determined from above.” Aesop’s fable of the tortoise and hare race are an example, but not a good one. That story illustrates that the race can be won by the slow on occasion, that speed is not the only determining factor. What Ecclesiastes says is that whatever happens is out of our hands, though we go through the motions.
Fatalism? No; that is an attitude, though definitions don’t always describe it that way. I speak of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the way things are. But to the definition one source gives the word, I say, “Yes.”
WordWeb:
“1. A submissive mental attitude resulting from acceptance of the doctrine that everything that happens is predetermined and inevitable
2. A philosophical doctrine holding that all events are predetermined in advance for all time and human beings are powerless to change them”
I'm talking with a Catholic young man in his early twenties and you have helped me withn your testimony. Fortunately I was a stranger to Roman heresy. I already knew a verse to tell him, but the rest of your testimony helped me see where the young man in front of me is at.
I love you brother, take care.

Victor's response:
Hi John,
I am thankful I can be a signpost leading in the right direction as people learn where I came from and how good the change has been for me.
As for your unfamiliarity with Roman heresy, that would be a rare spectacle. Perhaps you aren't aware of its unidentified prevalence.
For examples, do you celebrate "Christ's Mass" (Christmas)?
Do you celebrate "Ishtar/Ashtoreth" (Easter), substituted for Passover?
Do you believe in the trinity, which was brought forth by pagans into the nominal Christian identity?
Do you believe in eternal torment?
Do you believe in infant baptism, sacraments, praying the "Our Father," spiritual promotion through catechism and confirmation, and several other such doctrines and practices?
Do you believe in buildings called "churches," particularly with steeples and arched entrances, which are considered holy places?
Do you believe in pictures of Jesus?
Do you believe in any kind of clerical privilege versus that of laity?
If your answer is "yes" to any of these questions, you are not a stranger to Roman heresy, much of which preceded the Roman Catholic Church, only a stranger to your familiarity with it (see our Statement of Doctrine for more information on all of these subjects, and much more).
I am thankful to be able to share these things with you now. I am so very thankful to be free, not only from the primary bondage of sin and the works of darkness men have devised and fashioned, but also from the subtle vestiges of these.
Victor
Daphne asks Victor:
Why is praying the “Our Father” wrong? Does it have to do with the repetition of prayer?
Victor’s reply:
Hi Daphne!
Yes, it does have to do with repetition of prayer, but not only repetition (which is the worse). Jesus never meant for those words to even have been recited once as personal prayer. When He said, "Pray like this," or, "Pray after this manner," or, "Pray in this way," He was giving an example of the attitude and understanding of, and in, true prayer. In the sample words of the "Our Father" or the "Lord's Prayer," He addresses our hearts and expresses how we should be at all times, not only when we make specific prayers. It is this attitude to which Paul referred when he said, "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17 MKJV).
While there is no harm in repeating those words in and of themselves, the great error lies in thinking that God is so removed and base that He would listen to a mere creature repeating him or herself over and over in their own righteousness. What is He supposed to get out of that, except an upset stomach and sore eyes from rolling them? The very thought is contemptible. Even saying those same words once and assuming He is going to hear or be pleased, simply because they are the "Lord's prayer" (which is a sycophantic attitude) or because they are in the Bible (which is Bibliolatry) is unacceptable to God.
An exception might be if a child (whether a physical or a spiritual one), not knowing any better, sincerely speaks that sample prayer, believing (the Lord knows and judges by the heart), but even there, He cannot approve the ways of the heathen and is limited by unbelief in general.
The Lord's message is, "Be reasonable, be respectful, understand what He is like and what He desires; understand your duty before Him, and know that He is running the show. Have knowledge of, and faith in, your Father (for He IS your Father), recognizing all your sustenance comes from Him. As you treat others, so will you be treated. And remember that you and this world are not where it's at. It is all about God and the Kingdom of God over all. Focus there, always."
"It is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous." Rom. 2:13
I think you need to find out which law he is speaking of in regard to the fact that a law has been added after Jesus' crucifixion.
Paul's reply:
We agree with Romans 2:13, so it is not clear where you disagree with us, or what point you are trying to make.
Do you believe the following, spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ?
"Do not think that I have come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to destroy but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, Till the heaven and the earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in any way pass from the Law until all is fulfilled. Therefore whoever shall relax one of these commandments, the least, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 5:17-19 MKJV).
There is no new Law, only a new heart and understanding given to those who receive Christ.
Paul Cohen
Victor then asked this question of Paul and Sara:
Did you know that the Law of Moses (the 10 Commandments) is the Law of Love?
Sara's reply:
Amen.
Matthew 22:35-40 MKJV
(35) Then one of them, a lawyer, asked, tempting Him and saying,
(36) Master, which is the great commandment in the Law?
(37) Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
(38) This is the first and great commandment.
(39) And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
(40) On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
Victor's reply:
This fellow says there was a law added, which, as you point out, is patently false. As nothing shall be subtracted from the Law, neither shall there be anything added to it because it is complete, representative of God's nature and character. God missed nothing in the Ten Commandments. The difference is not in the Law, as you say, but in its fulfillment, which comes through Jesus Christ, Who gives us a new heart with the Law in it and the love for it. Any who think there is a new law added are still in their sin nature.
One of life's great pleasures for lovers of truth is being able to heartfully agree with your enemies. Though we do not personally count him an enemy, Richard Dawkins, author of several books championing evolution, is a great enemy of the truth and the Creator in this matter. We find his attitude and teachings grossly untrue, irresponsible, and even reprehensible, intellectually, scientifically, socially, and spiritually.
But when we hear that Dawkins, along with Christopher Hitchens, is initiating legal proceedings to have the pope arrested on his upcoming trip to England on charges of obstruction of justice, we could not agree more, and we applaud his efforts. Their reasoning is certainly legitimate. Why should the pope and his minions be above the law? Ought they not be held to at least the same standards of justice as the common pedophile, if not more severe for their pretensions of morality?
Get this: The Catholic Church preaches eternal damnation and torture for sinners, but pleads for the statute of limitations regarding their heinous sins! As they say in Yiddish, that is some chutzpah. You go, Richard!
I want you to know that while some make Christmas an issue, it being
the season, we need to have it from the Lord to know what to say, to
whom and what, but let's not get in bondage about it. When it comes right
down to it, Christmas is not the issue. Before I became a Christian,
celebrating or not celebrating Christmas would have meant nothing to
me. But when I received the Spirit, things began to change in all areas,
one thing at a time, sometimes several things, and Christmas took its
turn.
You see, it's primarily about a relationship with the Lord Jesus, He
living His life in and through us. And He doesn't condemn or criticize
anyone for darkness or ignorance (did He condemn you?). Having revealed
Himself to us, He lives His life by us and brings whom He will to the
Light in His time. Patience!
I talked to some of you as to what to respond to others when they wish
you a "Merry Christmas." Our community fire chief has created
the tradition (perhaps it is not a new idea by any means) of heading
door to door with his wife in the fire truck. (I think that is rather
clever - no sleigh, but a fire truck, and red like a Santa sleigh, well,
maybe yellow, not sure; and instead of Rudolph's red nose, headlights,
and instead of bells, a siren). They dress in Santa suits and hand out
candy canes, one for each member of the house. Last night I heard the
touch of the siren, and Wendy Hilliard came to the door and handed me
three canes (which, Christmas or no Christmas, we don't normally eat).
I accepted them. She said, "Happy holidays to you and yours," smiled,
and was off to the next house. I smiled back, rather hesitantly, I might
add, and said, "Thank you."
Wendy is our neighbor; her husband is a volunteer fireman for us, doing
the community a service, and they are regular strawberry customers of
Harvest Haven. With these kinds of connections, it makes it harder to
take a stand on some issues...if indeed a stand ought to be taken. Sometimes,
hopefully not for selfish or earthly benefit, we need to recognize that
we can just let some things go. We needn't strive or differ at all times,
in all cases.
Was I wrong to thank her and accept the canes? Maybe and maybe not;
the Lord will tell. I'd be glad to talk to her and her husband about
any of these things should the Lord open the door to do so, not in legalistic
posturing and mild contempt, but in kindness and friendship. And if the
Lord doesn't provide the circumstances, not a problem. Leave it; it's
okay.
Terri, I advised you to go to your family gathering and not worry about
it. How did you do? Or is it today?
James, I advised you to go to yours and take it as an opportunity to
just be there and share; maybe ask some questions, not in strife or antagonism,
but just to make people think about themselves, their lot in life, you,
and what they are doing there having a gathering when not willing to
talk about the things that are significant to you, whom they insist to
get together with and presume to care about.
Eric, I heard that Laurie was upset because she had to prepare the kids
herself to go to church for whatever occasion they were having there,
likely to do with Christmas. I only got these things secondhand, so don't
quote me. Be that as it may, consider that you can help her dress and
feed the kids; help send her off to church with them to do what she intends.
When they all know that you clearly disagree, and though you do not go
yourself and partake, yet if you help them with concern and kindness,
I think that will speak volumes more than to hold them in any kind of
contempt - mild, subtle, or otherwise. Yes, the Lord has called us to
war, yet by peaceful and heavenly means, not by carnal attitudes and
measures.
Care about them more than you care about not celebrating Christmas or
about not going to Babylonian worship. Do you understand, people? Do
you hear me? Yes, Paul and I preach against Christmas and false religion,
we speak against many evils and "reprove the works of darkness" (as
did the Lord and the prophets and apostles), but there are many ways
to do so, and times and persons in different stations of life in the
mix, each calling for a different stroke. Love them wherever and whenever
possible.
By "love", I don't mean the mush or sentimentality or platitudes,
though there are times for sympathy and compassion, for hugs, and an
understanding pat on the hand or shoulder, by all means. But don't presume
to change them. That is the Lord's job; only He can do it, and if He
isn't doing anything at the time, your efforts will only be counterproductive
and vexing to them, to the Lord, and to yourselves. Been there, done
it, much and many times - bought the t-shirt, burned it.... Do you "hear" me?
I would like for you to understand these things sooner than I did, yet
it is still all in His time(s).
I too am weak, as you; Paul is weak; we are all weak. Let's not fool
ourselves; we are no better than anyone when it comes down to it. We
fail, we stumble, we err, we must all learn; we must all be chastened
by the Lord. He loves us and has been very patient with us, has He not?
But He also loves those with whom we have to do.
Remember, He also died for them and is every bit as desirous and able
to bring them into His fold as He has been and done with you. Be patient,
be kind, be understanding, be gentle with them all. Do stand firm in
your convictions, make clear what the Lord has shown you - I'm not calling
for compromise - I'm calling for something much better, for the sake
of all.
You may have some difficulty understanding how it is I can say these
things when you see our preaching; it seems we are the opposite. Are
we? Maybe we are; I hope not. I want you to know that in Christ,
we care for all those people out there, every last one of them...Augie,
Peter, Laurie, Dilene, all the children, pastors, priests, strangers,
antagonists, name them all - Christ died for them all, and one day, they
will all be standing beside us, rejoicing, singing praises to God, with
tears and happy faces, thankful that He cared so much that He should
suffer a cruel death for them, and thankful for all things.
I have an only son in the flesh, whom I love. He does things I don't
agree with in the final sense. But I believe the Lord
has given me the wisdom to let him go and experience the things he must
for the time. He does not keep the Sabbath as do we, he does a variety
of things we know better than to do, yet I know the Lord was sovereign
in my life when I was in unbelief, and He didn't draw me to Himself until
I was 27, 9 years older than Jonathan is now. God could have done it
sooner, but He didn't. I can wish He had, given the terrible things that
happened, but so it was, for His purposes and for the right time, which
serves to humble me to this very hour. So who am I to think I can (or
should) change people any time I please? I can't, and neither can anyone
else. He has His timing and way.
Let's give thanks in all these things -that's very important - rejoice
in the Lord and give Him thanks for everything, the "good" and
the "bad" both - the trials, the challenges, the roadblocks,
the defeats, as well as the victories. Father, thank You for these to
whom You have granted grace and revealed Yourself. Thank You for their
weaknesses and strengths, all of which serve Your purpose. Thank You
for them and everything. Amen!
I don’t celebrate Christmas because I believe in Jesus Christ
and cannot but be faithful to Him.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it opposes Jesus Christ in
spirit and practice.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it is the birthdate of the
antiChrist, the great imposter, the false Messiah.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because the world loves it, and anything
the world loves, God hates.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it fulfills both the lusts
of the flesh and of the spirit, which are at enmity with God.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it brings God’s wrath
on all its celebrants.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because I want to live and not die.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because I want Jesus Christ to be
glorified.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because gifts are to be for Jesus
Christ and not for each other with His exclusion.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because God hates mixture.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it is deceptive and destructive.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because Santa Claus, tinsel, tree
ornaments, cards, mistletoe, hoping to receive earthly gifts, merchandising
in Christ’s Name, Christmas food, revelry, gluttony, and drunkenness
are ungodly and deadly.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it is confusion.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it is a captive spirit that
promises fulfillment when it comes, and leaves one empty and disillusioned
when it goes.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it has nothing whatsoever
to do with the birth of Christ in any way; it only claims to.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because God never asked anyone to
do so.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because harlot religion and the world
does.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it represents Satan’s
chosen man.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because God’s people do not
do so.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it shames and discourages
the lonely and destitute and glorifies the wealthy.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it insults and grieves God.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it offers an occasion for
those who do not obey Jesus Christ to pretend that they do.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because it gives the pagan originators
of the celebration an occasion to make the whole world stumble.
I don’t celebrate Christmas because I have known its beautiful,
rapturous bondage, and now I know the freedom of deliverance from it,
with peace and understanding.
I don’t celebrate Christ’s physical birth without because
I have His spiritual birth within.
How wonderful it is that one may celebrate the birth of the Son of God
24/7, in spirit and in truth! Each and every day, those born of Him possess
that which no mortal celebrating the best Christmas day can even imagine!
Are there still miracles today? What is a miracle? Would you know it
if you saw one? Here are some principles about God's supernatural workings
on earth today.
I had what I could call precious thoughts last Sabbath as I was running
a hose to the barrel and turning the raw water valve on. I thought, “Should
I, or shouldn’t I, be doing this today?” (The barrel was
low and tends to dry out and leak if not filled, but it could have waited
till the next day.) But then I thought, “No, this is nothing to
me; in fact, I am enjoying it on this beautiful, peaceful morning. And
I don’t have to do it! It is not servile in that
I am forced or find displeasure in it. And I am free
to do it.”
So I got thinking about the Sabbath again and suddenly realized that
almost all of the commandments are not, “I’m telling you
what to do, and you better do it!” but, “I’m telling
you what shall be. This is what I am doing with you; here’s where
I’m going with all this - You shall love the Lord
your God. You shall not have other gods. You will
not be killing or committing adultery or stealing. This is what
I’m doing with you, and this is where you are going and will be.” The
Law of God is the “blueprint” or “manifesto,” if
you will.
So then, what about the Sabbath? It says not, “You shall...,” but, “Remember
that you keep....” Why? Because the purpose of our Creator is to
bring us to that fulfillment where, by nature, we want to do the right
thing, and we do it, like breathing, as natural as blood coursing through
our veins. And that is the rest; that is the Sabbath, and we will remember,
and not forget. It is a promise, as are all the commandments.
Commandments! Aren’t those things we are told to do? Yes, but
when God says, “Let there be light,” there is light. So when
He says, “You shall not steal,” then it will come to pass
that you shall not steal, because He has commanded it. He does not command
you so much as that He commands the thing itself to come to pass! Isn’t
that wonderful? He will do it and is doing it and has done it! I don’t
know what to say about the one other commandment (which has no, “You
shall or shall not”) that says, “Honor your father and your
mother,” except that it is one with promise, and in fact, it is
the only one with an explicit promise built right in.
Now see why we can’t win favor with God by keeping the commandments,
or why we can’t even keep them? If they are promises, then whose
promises are they? If His and not ours, then how can, or even how should,
we keep them, when we are not the ones who made them? If He made the
promises, then they are up to Him to keep. And why would He make such
promises if we already had what He was promising, the keeping of the
commandments? But He promises to give or to fulfill that which we do
not have, but which is needful, in order that we may have fellowship
with Him.
Because God’s commandments are promises, it doesn’t mean
we don’t have to try to comply with them. It only means we can’t
pretend to fulfill His commandments in our own power, which is to deny
His promise, His blood, His Person, and Reality. We are subject to the
tutelage of the Law, because we agree with His verdicts and ways, until
the time is fulfilled. We know that as we behold His face in righteousness,
we will be satisfied when we awake with His likeness.
And when He keeps His Promises, it is the fulfillment of His words:
“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit
within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and
I will give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26 MKJV).
(“I will keep My promises to you, all Ten of them, and then you
will have the reality of the Fourth!”)
When the Sabbath is finally fulfilled in us, nothing will be servile
to us any longer, for that would be an impossibility. We will no longer
do our own pleasure, for we will be entirely His, desiring to do only
His pleasure. We will have overcome to be one with Him. That is the Sabbath
and the rest of God, which the Hebrews writer exhorted, indeed admonished,
us to enter into:
Hebrews 4:1-11 MKJV
(1) Therefore, a promise being left to enter into His rest, let us fear lest
any of you should seem to come short of it.
(2) For also we have had the gospel preached, as well as them. But the Word
preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard
it.
(3) For we who have believed do enter into the rest, as He said, "I have
sworn in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest"; although the
works were finished from the foundation of the world.
(4) For He spoke in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: "And
God rested the seventh day from all His works."
(5) And in this place again, "They shall not enter into My rest."
(6) Since then it remains that some must enter into it, and since they to whom
it was first preached did not enter in because of unbelief,
(7) He again marks out a certain day, saying in David, "Today," (after
so long a time). Even as it is said, "Today, if you will hear His voice,
harden not your hearts."
(8) For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken
of another day.
(9) So then there remains a rest to the people of God.
(10) For he who has entered into His rest, he also has ceased from his own
works, as God did from His.
(11) Therefore let us labor to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after
the same example of unbelief.
"And He answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or
an ox fall into a pit and will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath
day?" (Luke 14:5 MKJV)
Question: If God reigns supreme over all things, and
is Lord of the Sabbath, and if He would have man to rest on the Sabbath,
why does He permit an ox to fall in a pit on that day and require someone
to rescue it?
Answer:
He demonstrates that He is not expecting a legalistic reaction from
us.
He teaches us that the Sabbath is not to rule and bind us, but is made
for us.
He teaches us that we can choose to do the right thing on the Sabbath,
as at any time.
He tries us to see if we will do the right thing and put aside our needs
(in this case the need of rest) for the sake of a creature in need of
help.
He demonstrates principles of worship and service and mercy.
He gives us lessons in priorities.
If an ox is so unfortunate as to not have rest on the Sabbath, and we
are commanded that our ox rest with us, how then may we leave it in its
trouble and rest at the same time?
That is why He will send an ox to the pit on the Sabbath.
Only those familiar with warfare can sufficiently appreciate the fact
of miraculously low casualties with the Israelis in this particular war.
Normally, an operation like that could cost half the men going in. Instead,
they likely had about 1% of the expected or the norm of those invading
a dense population ready for them with booby traps everywhere, well armed,
very hateful, and even using children and women, not only for cover,
but also as guerilla combatants.
These tactics might not work so well against an invader without conscience,
such as the despotic, atheistic regimes governing Russia and China, or
the Muslim tyrannies in Iran, Syria, and several other Muslim nations,
for examples, but they worked with those who have a conscience - the
Israelis.
Add to this the fact that Israel was not able to use a major tactic
of warfare, the element of surprise.
Add to these the fact that the Israelis sent out word to the populace
that they were coming in, which is even more dangerous than losing the
element of surprise. The Israelis were trying to spare civilians, many
of which were dangerous.
The Israelis were on foreign territory, dense with a bitter populace,
with very unpleasant surprises planned well ahead of time for them, and
yet they walked in and returned, virtually unscathed. Yes, God was with
them. Normally, one could expect much worse. I have no doubt many did.
I did, and am so pleasantly surprised and elated at how God answered
our prayers, cursing the enemies of Israel.
Shall He stop now in His favor for them? Of course not! Now that He
has come this far for the Last Day, the Day of Wrap-up, why should He?
The deliverance day for Israel is now historically at hand at long last.
But it will be so good that the past will seem relatively short for the
goodness of which Israel, and indeed all mankind, will be partakers.
Most by far in Christendom, such as the Catholics, quote Jesus as having
said, “I Was.” Many, like the Seventh Day Adventists and
evangelicals, quote Him as saying, “I Will Be.” Some, as
the Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses, quote Him as saying, “I
Never Was.” Only those who are His quote Him as saying, “I
Am.”

Have you ever built anything. The prize is much greater than the price.....
Our answer to him or her is: “How would you know?”
Seeing all manner of falsehood exposed on this site, some, like Joe,
being partakers and supporters of that which God has determined to be
removed from His sight, attack us with critical spirits, declaring we
are critical.
No doubt we are critical; that is only stating the obvious. But to what
end is our criticism? Do we attack people anonymously, calling them names
and giving no sound reason or evidence for such invectives?
No; we speak openly, without rancor, giving substance. This substance
serves not only to tear down the unlicensed, unsafe, unsanitary buildings
of men, which God has condemned, but also to build up the sanctified,
healing, pure Building ordained by God through Jesus Christ, which is
the gathering of His people incorporated into His Body.
What substance does anonymous “Joe” have? None. What is “Joe” building
with his or her name calling? How amazing the contradiction of the enemy!
He or she brings nothing of value to us (or to you). Even if there was
something of value this person withheld (and there isn't), we can't contact
him or her because the address, like the name, is fictitious. How instructive!
How constructive! Or is it, “How destructive!”?
Which is better - constructive criticism or unsubstantiated, bitter
criticism? You decide.
Meanwhile, “Joe” calls us "freeks" (it appears
that even his earthly education is limited, how much more the heavenly).
No doubt we are freaks to those who hide in the dark, afraid to be seen
or identified in the light of day with their beliefs, yet driven by madness
to furtive attacks. We know in Whom we have believed, and we are not
afraid to speak out. Indeed, knowing Him Who has sent us, we dare not
withhold from speaking out.
The dictionary gives this meaning to the actual word, "freak":
"Someone who is so ardently devoted to something
that it resembles an addiction."
By the grace of God, we are ardently devoted to Jesus Christ and to
the calling He has given us, to speak out against all lying falsehood
perpetrated in His Name or usurping His authority. As our brother Jehu
once did:
"'Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD'… And when he
came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till
he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which He spoke
to Elijah" (2 Kings 10:16-17 KJV).
According to the saying of the Lord, we both speak and do, by His grace.
Do you understand what you are supporting when you eat conventional
poultry?
In January of 2009, Mark Benson, manager of Harvest
Haven Health & Market Farm, wrote to Ontario Minister Dombrowsky
in opposition to a movement to reduce the right of farmers to raise
poultry free-range, with access to the outdoors.
His letter highlights the stark differences between conventional poultry
farming and free-range poultry farming. The former is indifferent to
the health or welfare of the animals and those who consume them, whereas
the latter takes care of both by doing things right, giving the birds
the proper necessities of life.
If a man can receive nothing except it be given him from Above, then
to say “Yes, We Can!” is the height of presumption. That
was the rallying cry of the builders of the tower of Babylon, and we
all know that did not turn out well.
Conspiratorialist – n. - one who focuses his energy and attention
on conspiracies, whether real or imagined.
The core of the problem with the conspiratorialist is that he refuses
to see his own corruption. Instead of seeing the corruption of all men,
he chooses to focus on the corruption of certain few. Thus, he presumes
to escape the reality of his own.
Ironically, he demonstrates his own corruption by choosing to point
the finger at others, while avoiding attention to, or diverting it from,
himself.
Curiously, where does the conspiratorialist think to hide, if those
of whom he speaks are so powerful? How does he propose to stop them,
or does he hope someone else will do the job? And how does he hide from
himself – the culprit within, the conspirator of conspirators?
And where is God in the mix of things? He is nowhere to be found, though
mentioned never or seldom or often. A typical conspiratorialist seems
to present God as running and hiding with him. What hope is there if
God cannot find a perfect solution for His creation, or at least for
those who might try to avail themselves of Him?
Conspiratorialists do not have their faith in God. They are escapists,
rebels, vainly searching for a hiding place from themselves. Why will
they not simply believe God and obey Him?
“Again, you have heard that it has been said to the ancients, "You
shall not swear falsely, but you shall perform your oaths to the Lord." But
I say to you, Do not swear at all! Not by Heaven, because it is God's
throne; not by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet; not by
Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King; nor shall you swear
by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let
your word be, Yes, yes; No, no. For whatever is more than these comes
from evil” (Matthew 5:33-37 MKJV).
Why would the courts and other institutions require that one swear on
a Bible, when the very Bible they use expressly commands that one not
do so? One cannot so much as make a promise to be virtuous in any way:
“I know, LORD, that we humans are not in control of our own lives” (Jeremiah
10:23 CEV).
So what may the Christian do when haled before the authorities who require
an assurance that one will speak the truth? I would word it somewhat
this way:
“Your honor, I cannot swear on the Bible because I desire to live
by the Bible, and It commands me to not swear at all. Therefore, meaning
no contempt whatsoever for this court, I understand such swearing to
be hypocritical and a contradiction of the first order.
“However, the Bible does command that we tell the truth and do
not lie. Therefore, I can only say that my intent and desire, so help
me God, are to tell the truth in this place and to honor you, the authorities,
as God would have me to do.”
Why are we not offended at insults and evils done to us? It is because
God has removed the power and burden of pride in us. He has crucified
our egos, which are a hindrance to any man or woman who desires to be
free and live life to the fullest. The world thinks pride is a good thing,
but God calls it evil; there are few things He despises more than man’s
pride. It is written:
“Pride comes, then shame comes; but with the lowly is wisdom” (Proverbs
11:2 MKJV).
“Only by pride comes argument, but with those who take advice
is wisdom” (Proverbs 13:10 MKJV).
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a
fall” (Proverbs 16:18 MKJV).
“A man's pride shall bring him low; but honor shall uphold the
humble in spirit” (Proverbs 29:23 MKJV).
The world thinks pride is good. How wrong it is! If people only knew
how much pride costs them! But almost all people, if they even recognize
their pride, are too proud to face the fact that pride is not good; so
they cling to their pride and inevitably succumb to anger, depression,
self-pity, resentment, bitterness, fear, worry, revenge - all which lead,
and bind them firmly, to loss, failure, defeat, humiliation, sorrow,
disappointment, misery, suffering, destruction, and death in its many
daily forms.
There are those who say we are critical and judgmental when they see
the False Teachers section, in which we expose those who deceive and
are in error. We make no apology, because we obey the Lord. There are
so many more we can add to the list, and we will do so as we are given
by the Lord.
Would it not be a wonderful thing if we could compile a list of those who were
once false teachers but who repented of their ways and openly declared their
sins and acknowledged their error and wickedness? We would love to have that
kind of list, much preferred to the one we now have. Alas, that is not the
way it is, so for now we solemnly say with the Lord and the apostles, “Beware”:
“And Jesus answering them began to say, Beware that no one deceive you” (Mark
13:5 MKJV).
“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing,
but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15 MKJV).
“And Jesus said to them, Take heed, and beware the leaven of the
Pharisees and of the Sadducees” (Matthew 16:6 MKJV).
“Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision
party” (Philippians 3:2 MKJV).
“For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall
enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also men shall arise from
your own selves, speaking perverse things in order to draw disciples
away after them. Therefore watch and remember that for the time of three
years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears” (Acts
20:29-31 MKJV).
“And He said to them in His teaching, Beware of the scribes, who
love to walk about in robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the
chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost places at feasts who
devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense make long prayers. These
shall receive greater condemnation” (Mark 12:38-40 MKJV).
“Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and vain deceit,
according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world,
and not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8 MKJV).
Even naming names: “Alexander the coppersmith showed many evil
things to me. The Lord will give back to him according to his works.
You also should beware of him, for he has greatly withstood our words” (2
Timothy 4:14-15 MKJV).
For your life, we have been commanded to warn and to expose. For your
life, you have been commanded to beware. Accessing the False Teachers
and, indeed, the rest of our site, you will be obeying the Lord and His
disciples.
“Then I asked the LORD, ‘How long will this last?’ The
LORD answered: Until their towns are destroyed and their houses are deserted,
until their fields are empty, and I have sent them far away, leaving
their land in ruins” (Isaiah 6:11-12 CEV).
At the end of 2006, we raised the flag of Israel, a representation of
the spiritual stance the Lord gave us towards that nation. Now, two years
later at the same time of year, when gathered together again at Harvest
Haven, we prayed for Israel in its current war in Gaza. Victor, in the
Name of the Lord, cursed Hamas and all those who stand with it against
Israel.
There is much misinformation and purposeful obfuscation of the reality
of the situation in Israel with its hostile neighbors. The world is asleep
and blind to its hypocrisy in condemning Israel. Here are two pieces
that offer some reality - a writing on the moral clarity of the war in
Gaza, and a short visual presentation on the facts of the history of
the Middle East surrounding the Israeli-Arab conflict.
Even though the Gentile calendar is not the one God would ultimately
have, certainly not with all its elements like the months and the days
named after other gods, still He has demonstrated to us that He observes
and honors the dates, whether for Himself, for us, or for both. All things
are in His hands, including the Gentiles and all that they do.
For example, the tenth day of the seventh month is recorded
in Scripture as one of the most important days, if not the most important day,
of the year. This was the Day of Atonement, which occurred
during the Feast of Tabernacles in the Fall season of Israel.
God has made special use of July 10th, the parallel day on the Gentile calendar
for me, for us.
It all began to come to our attention at Lois' in Stettler on July 10,
1986. I had a vision of a mare giving birth to a colt. Marilyn also received
a Word and witness from the Lord about new beginnings that agreed with
the vision.
The very day those things were coming to us in Stettler, people were
breaking the ground at Moon River for their dream home, a log house that
would be ours within two years. Since that time, so many things have
happened on July 10th, many of which I am sure we are not aware, but
many of which we are.
My physical birth date was April 1st. While this is now April Fool’s
Day, I am told this day was once the New Year (a spring day, which makes
more sense to me than starting the year on January 1st). Marilyn and
I received the Spirit on January 1st, the present New Year. I see significance
there, too. Though that may seem to be somewhat self-centered, I do not
discount coincidences as purely accidental or without purpose; I have
learned better.
I thought it fitting to write you today, on this present Gentile New
Year’s Day, to announce, remind, exhort, and encourage you all
to look to this year as one in which the Lord does a special work on
all our behalves, whatever that may be. We have already entered this
year “out of the blocks,” running, with so very much happening.
We are busy here at Harvest Haven and in Helena, every one of us, along
with those working with us to do what we are given to do.
My prayer has been that God would send many more workers. The tasks
are overwhelming, but we are confident that God only requires of us that
which we are able to handle. He gives as much grace as is needed.
Now let’s acknowledge that if we were all to take buckets, or
large electric sump pumps and hoses, or even giant, super-efficient,
Dutch dike drainage pumps, we would still have some difficulty creating
a dry swath across the Red Sea or the Jordan River. So with what we have
before us now – the work is impossible to perform, much less complete,
be it the new building, the duties at the farm, the internet outreach
to the world, or the necessary changes within us. So we must trust that
God will perform all that He desires and that He will only use each of
us as He sees fit.
We are not here to accomplish; we are only here to trust and obey in
whatever He brings our way. That is our sole duty, and it is our joy
to perform. Having done not our pleasure but His, we have a reward in
store for us that is well beyond the present cost or the burden borne.
Let’s enter 2009 with more than willingness; let us proceed with
alacrity and joy in the Lord. Has He not done great things for us already?
He has indeed done great things - who can argue? We can do nothing, but
He can do everything.
Let us then expect more; let us expect the impossible,
as He declared and as Sara received. Let us look forward to the Lord
destroying men’s works that have destroyed in Heaven and earth;
let us look forward to His redeeming mankind, one by one, and Israel,
as a nation beloved and no longer forsaken. Let us look forward with
great anticipation to the Lord doing away with the enemies that seek
to destroy His people and His work.
If God be for us, who can be against us? What can man do to us? What
circumstances can possibly stop or prevent the Engineer of all things,
Who does as He pleases?
We are in for a ride this year, folks. The noose has now tightened and
the scaffold door drops open for the ungodly and the wicked. God have
mercy on us. May we walk wisely and be found doing that which is right
and just and merciful, as He wills and not as we might think, toward
all.
Perhaps most important of all, let’s give thanks to the Lord in
and for everything. Let us praise the Lord constantly, for therein is
our victory. By faith we overcome; genuine and holy thanksgiving and
praise put faith into action, and then we see the impossible we have
expected by His command. And God is glorified! Praise the Lord!
Before you walk away from this letter, pray for Israel now to prevail
over its enemies. Give thanks for what God is doing by Michael and the
angels as they do battle on Israel’s behalf. As it is written,
Michael shall stand up. This is that day. Praise the Lord!
For our American and other readers outside of Canada, you may not be
aware of the current crisis in the Canadian government, wherein three
minority parties made an unprincipled pact to overthrow the recently
elected Prime Minister on no other ostensible grounds than not agreeing
with some of his policies that exercise fiscal responsibility in a time
of economic calamity. You can read about the basics of this situation HERE.
(This is an article of how the situation began a couple of days ago;
you can read about recent developments in the news.)
Here is the view of Heaven on this action, as written by Victor
Hafichuk on December 1st, 2008:
Stray curs gather. But the populace has spoken. No, they do not want
any of these curs to be their guard dogs. So the curs go away, sullen
and defeated - but not resigned. Now they gather together, their countenances
suddenly changed, manifesting their true natures.
They return, not seeking permission to serve as guards for the owners,
but brazenly, as a pack with power in numbers to seize for themselves
what they would still pretend to unselfishly guard.
Cursed be they who, for personal gain, seize what is not theirs.
Cursed be they who gather in the name of principle and virtue, but there
only to take undue advantage. These are worse than unpretentious Somali
pirates.
Cursed be they who make unholy alliances, jumping into bed with any
partner to please those not worth pleasing.
Let them suffer the wrongs they seek to perpetrate. Let them be cursed
of God, and let all people know that God reigns in Heaven against all
ungodliness over the affairs of men. Let the pack be broken and scattered.
May God grant wisdom and strength to those who would govern with discretion
and honesty.
It is said that bullies are to be pitied. Rarely do we see them pitied
but almost always do we see their victims pitied. Let it be known that
neither is to be pitied. I have never seen pity build or restore. I have
never seen pity heal or reverse damages. There is a better and a sure
way for all those who are willing to forsake the tempting pleasure of
sympathy and trade it for reality and restitution to wholeness. Furthermore,
the sad, even traumatic, experience of being bullied will turn out to
be an asset, a gain, a discovered hidden treasure, guaranteed.
Years ago, the Lord gave me a vision of a mortar and pestle, and said
to me: "You are My son; you are My discipline." Disciples
are those who delight in the Law of the Lord. They learn not to despise
correction, the chastening rod of truth. That is exactly why they are
called "disciples" or "disciplined ones." They have
accepted His harness.
I rejoiced when I first red Bill Britton's vision, which he called "The
Harness of the Lord." I found it perfectly appropriate and so descriptive
of my experience in the Lord. For all those who would be the Lord's, they will
come away from the rebellion that says, "You are not going to tell me
what to do!" Instead, they will take upon themselves the Lord's yoke and
burden, saying, "Your will, not mine be done." Then will they have
their great reward - the peaceable fruit of righteousness.
On October 21 we attended the Lewis and Clark Library board meeting
to witness the decision of the board on The Joy of Gay Sex.
To no one’s surprise, the board unanimously approved the review
committee’s and director’s decision to retain this vile book
in the library’s active collection.
The rationale given for this decision was that the book met all the
guidelines of the selection policy. My reply was that if the guidelines
allow for putting such materials on the bookshelf, then they need to
be changed or scrapped altogether.
How fitting a conclusion to this matter, when I initially protested
this book because it openly flouted the Laws of God. Now the library
board justifies its initial decision to buy the book by appealing to
a corrupt law of their own making. This is an excellent illustration
of the endemic evil that covers this land. Men have framed laws and conventions
to nullify God’s Laws.
And one thing is certain: When the laws of men contravene the Laws of
God, trouble ensues. The results that surround us today amply speak for
themselves. The recent tragedies befalling the United States and other
Western nations are also part of the picture and are just the beginning
of woes. But how blinded people are to the reaping of evil for which
they have diligently sown! That is part of the curse of choosing evil
rather than doing right.

this matter began and what ensued.
If Catholics stand against abortion, I am “Catholic.”
If SDAs keep the Sabbath, I am “SDA.”
If Mormons teach that sons of God will grow up to be as God, I am “Mormon.”
If Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t celebrate Christmas, I am a “Jehovah’s
Witness.”
If Muslims stand against the falsehood in nominal Christendom, I am “Muslim.”
If Muslims stand against homosexuality, I am “Muslim.”
If Muslims stand for murder, we are “anti-Muslims”; if they
stand for death to Israel and America, we are “anti-Muslims.”
If America stands for death to Muslims, we are “anti-American,” but
if Americans must fight and kill to stop murder and Islam, we are “pro-American.”
If homosexuals condemn hypocrisy, we stand in agreement with them.
If feminists stand against spousal brutality, we are “feminists.”
If Christians support abortion, we are “anti-Christian.”
If angels stand for antiBiblicalism, we are against them.
If Jews or Israel stand for wrong, we are “antiSemite” or “anti-Israel.”
If the world and the UN stand against Israel, we are against the world
and the UN.
If Canada stands against Israel, I am “not Canadian.”
If America stands against the Law of God, I am “not American.”
If America is corrupt and has no blessing coming but the opposite, I
stand with Dr. Wright, Barack Obama’s mentor, and declare, “God
damn America” - he is right.
If the Canadian Parliament frames laws against the Bible and the Supreme
Court of Canada enforces them, I am automatically a criminal. If Canada
stands for religious freedom for any and all, regardless of the nature
of that religion, we are against religious freedom.
If Billy Graham says America must repent of its sins - that’s
why 9/11 happened -we support Billy Graham. But if he points to others
as guilty, and ignores America’s guilt, we are against Mr. Graham.
By God’s grace and only by His grace, we stand with right and
truth wherever it may be found and condemn all wrong and error – untruth.
If some wish to box or slot us, they will be forced to do so based only
on right and wrong.
We are not anti-gay, anti-Islam, anti-Mormon, anti-Catholic, anti-Protestant,
or anti-anything or anybody but anti-wrong; we are not pro-life or pro-democracy
but pro-right.
Because Islam, Mormonism, Catholicism, Protestantism, and other movements
of men coming in the Name of God teach directly against the Word of God,
we are against them, even as is our Head, Who said to them in the days
of His flesh:
“Why do you, yourselves, go against the Word of God on account
of the teaching which has been handed down to you?...you have made the
word of God without effect because of your teaching” (Matthew 15:3-6
BBE).
We are pro-Jesus Christ, Who is Right Incarnate, and His Law, Which
is Right, and we are anti-wrong from all quarters, no matter who commits
it. It has nothing to do with any agenda, but everything to do with representing
the Lord Jesus Christ as He is and as He wills. By His grace, we are
completely His partisan supporters.
Partisan - “Devoted to a cause or party.” He and His saints
are our Party and our Cause. He is the First Cause (Exposing
Evolutionists).
One day this past February, Paul perused
the "New" bookshelf at the Lewis & Clark Public Library
in Helena, Montana, and he saw The Joy of Gay Sex. Taking a glance at
its contents led to a formal request to remove the book from the library
and public hearings over, "Does such a book belong in the public
library?"
Paul's Letter
to the Editor in the Independent Record and the Queen
City News tells more about how this process began.
The director of the library, Judy Hart, agreed to hear comments on this book
from Paul Cohen and other community members at the board meeting on August
25th, 2008. Here is our Handout
of PointsPaul took to the meeting.
After the meeting, I wrote a summary of the points covered by all speakers.
Here is that Summary
with Paul's Notes and Answers interspersed throughout the commentary.
Tonight, September 16th, 2008, a second public hearing was held at the Large
Meeting Room at the library. There were eighteen speakers for keeping the book,
and ten against (two of those asking for it to be put in an adult section).
Comments can be submitted in writing to the
library board through October 3rd. One page of written comment is allowed.
We have had further debate on this matter.
Here you can read various Letters to the Editor of the Helena Independent
Record with all comments, with some correspondence as well:
9-26-08 Addition: Paul and
Victor had correspondence with one of the authors of The Joy of Gay
Sex, Felice Picano. You can read this correspondence HERE.
Enjoy adversity? Whoever heard of such a thing? What am I, a masochist?
While being troubled about some matters that were not going as I would
like them to go, I mentioned it to Lois. As always, the answer was, “Give
thanks.” I said, “Yes.” I headed to the lawn to do
some work and gave thanks, but then I received something more. Not only
was it needful and fitting that I should give thanks for this, as with
everything, I should enjoy what is happening.
People owe me money, I was willing to lend it to them because they were
in need, and now I don’t even hear from them. One is even greatly
offended at me, though and because I was warning and instructing him
for good, and I am to enjoy this?
In these kinds of adverse circumstances, I begin to look at myself and
ask, “Where did I go wrong? What did I do wrong? Where have I disobeyed?
Why didn’t I see those ominous signs of potential trouble? Was
it greed or what?” But the Lord made known to me that He has done
His chastening with me. I am now ruling with Him, on His throne. There
need be no more correction; I am corrected. So these adversities that
are now happening are for another reason. I am not the issue; I need
only to sit back and enjoy what the Lord is doing with and in these matters.
I am to enjoy my adversities, yet not the adversities
themselves so much as watching the Lord working them for good, watching
Him do what needs to be done in perfection.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who
love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans
8:28 MKJV).
The enemy will resist and seek to destroy me or mine, but he cannot
touch me at the throne of God, where God has now seated me with Him.
Neither must I do battle with those who seek my hurt. God will take care
of it all, as promised:
“The LORD said to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right side, until
I make Your enemies into a footstool for You.’ The LORD will let
Your power reach out from Zion, and You will rule over Your enemies.
Your glorious power will be seen on the day You begin to rule. You will
wear the sacred robes and shine like the morning sun in all of Your strength” (Psalms
110:1-3 CEV).
Yes, the passage refers to the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is also a promise
for every believer who comes to rest and victory in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He has obtained that victory for His entire Body. Each member must enter
into that place of rest, of victory, of overcoming, and enjoy the adversities.
Surely, Abraham, Elijah, Moses, along with all the saints, apostles,
and prophets are watching developments on earth. To us it looks messy
and foreboding. Consider the insane hatred the Arabs and Muslims have
for Israel, Jews, and Christians, for instance, not to mention so many
other evils occurring and threatening. But I know that those in Heaven
who have gained the victory are watching God at work and thoroughly enjoying
it, knowing He has the victory and that it will all end well.
Enjoy the adversities? When we come to that place of victory within,
we will be able to do as did Paul and Silas. With torn flesh and backs
bleeding, they sang praises to God in the middle of the night while chained
in prison cells, though they were blameless of any wrongdoing and unjustly
punished. They had the victory within. They were not only giving thanks;
they were enjoying the adversity. They were confident of God and His
work. And God saved the jailer and his household (Acts 16).
We can have the finest of health, family, friends, home, car, weather,
foods, art - all possessions and abilities to excel above everyone else
in this world, yet if we do not have the capacity to enjoy, we cannot
enjoy any of these things. Place a great piece of art in front of a dog
and he is as inclined to lift his leg on it as to look at it. So it is
with man. Without the internal victory in Christ, we cannot enjoy the
best; we have no ability to do so. On the other hand, we can be beaten
and chained in a dungeon on false charges, and enjoy God and His doing
because we have the capacity within to do so. What we have externally
is not what counts. We see the truth of this everywhere all the time.
Why is this? It is because our whole existence here on earth is not
for the things of this world, but for that which comes after. It is for
God Himself.
So now I enjoy the view from the throne above and watch God
work, resting in Him, knowing that all will be well, just as He has
promised.
“Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no
one comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6 MKJV).
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but
so that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes on Him
is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because
he has not believed in the Name of the only-begotten Son of God” (John
3:16-18 MKJV).
“He who believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he who does
not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon
him” (John 3:36 MKJV).
“As the Scripture says, ‘Everyone who calls out to the Lord
for help will be saved’” (Romans 10:13 GNB).
Frequently I am drawn into conversations about how bad things are getting.
We talk about the strange and adverse weather conditions the world over
- the earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, droughts, floods,
and heat waves. We talk about the rising price of oil and the consequent
inflation, the growth of the bio-fuel industry and the grave consequences
of the price of food sharply increasing to subject a third of the world
to near starvation.
Then there is the real estate crisis in the U.S. with large banks in
trouble and a staggering federal debt, climbing wildly by the minute.
Americans and others are embroiled in a war they cannot win, though they
hold out vain hopes and promises. Enemies are threatening from several
directions - Russia with its new economic clout and political turnaround
by Putin, China with its piracy of patents and flooding America and the
world with its products while unemploying millions of Americans, and
Islam aggressively taking over the world with its oil revenues.
There is the Middle East crisis, the Muslims slaughtering non-Muslims
and other sects of Islam. We hear Ahmadinejad, Hezbollah, Fatah, and
Al Qaeda threatening and swearing to annihilate Israel. With that is
the threat of nuclear war from Iran, Pakistan, Russia, and other countries.
We talk about corruption in politics, government, religion, and every
significant nation, institution, and organization on earth. In the world
of medicine, people are dying like flies from every kind of disease one
can imagine, with new ones coming and old ones reviving, much of this
caused by the medical world and the pharmaceutical and petrochemical
industries. In the food industry we have, along with the chemical toxins
applied to nearly everything consumed, the threat of a multitude of Frankenfoods
unleashed on an unsuspecting and ignorant public, produced by ruthless
money and power-hungry corporations like Monsanto and Cargill, who stop
at nothing to grow and prosper.
There is the oppression of the masses by government institutions such
as the FDA, Health Canada, CFIA, EPA, and so many others like the medical
associations. There are the educational institutions that push humanism,
atheism, and evolution. There is the proliferating promotion of philosophies
and lifestyles like homosexuality, fornication, abortion, antiChrist
religion, feminism, drugs (mostly legal), all contrary to God and the
Scriptures.
The religious scene is the vilest of them all. Millions of nominal Christians
are hypocritically preaching virtue but doing as they please, withholding
nothing from themselves to please their lusts. Of those who are disciplined
to any extent on the physical plane, their doctrines, philosophies, and
attitudes contradict God and the Scriptures, and just try to tell them
differently.
I could go on and on about corporate greed, governmental corruption,
social lawlessness and immorality, environmental pollution, super bugs,
threatening plagues, widespread crime, conspiracies at work to enslave
or destroy our world, legal and illegal drugs, you name it. It is the
world madly abandoning itself to every vice and pleasure imaginable.
At one time, there was one in a million standing on the street corner
wearing a gown, sporting a beard and a sign that warned of the end of
the world. But now many more are seeing the end coming, not because they
are crazed, but because it is happening. They see the evil and the omens
of pending doom everywhere – on the streets, in the offices and
stores, in all the media, the news, sitcoms, movies, and at other places
of entertainment, including churches and homes. It is indelibly etched
in every visage. It has become a vile world - corrupt, greedy, uncaring,
fearful, insensitive, and so, so foolish and stupid, abhorrently godless.
But what is the point of all this kind of talk and thought? Where are
we going with this negative news? What profit is there in it? By focusing
on these things, are we getting anywhere? I say, “No.”
So what is the answer? What can we say to those who reflect and remark
on these things? That depends on the person and why they are bringing
these matters up. Are they complaining, diverting attention from themselves,
or entertaining themselves with sensationalism? Are they curious? Or
are they genuinely looking for answers, willing and prepared to act,
whatever the cost may be?
Here is the answer for those interested in the only answer there is:
It begins with you and you alone. You must go to God and get in touch
with Him directly. You must turn from your independence of Him. Every
aspect of your life must be surrendered to Him. There is no other way.
And only He can do this for you. One will find that if he or she tries
to be good or right or pleasing to God in any way, or tries to change
intrinsically, that one will fail miserably. That is what happened to
me as I sought after God - but He succeeded where I failed. He gave me
the grace to continue searching after Him, after Reality and Truth, even
if I was failing and felt it was a hopeless endeavor. The message to
the sincere seeker is: Don’t quit.
God will make known to you that there are not many ways to Him, only
one. That way is the Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for sinners and after
three days was raised from the dead, victorious over all things. After
finding Him and identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection,
all questions of concern to you will begin to be answered. You will realize
that the world is on a collision course, but it will not concern you
because you will know that God is in full control of everything. All
things must take their course.
There may be those who need to hear that the only way they can weather
the coming storm, the mother of all storms, is to be grounded in Jesus
Christ. He is the One and Only Authorized Mediator between God and man.
There is no other. Knowing Him, having repented of sin, one will perceive
the troubles of this world with understanding, from a new and reasonable
perspective. Fears, doubts, and confusion will disappear. Sure hope will
be established, and nothing will move the one planted in Jesus Christ,
the Foundational Rock of Life.
“How then shall they call on Him in Whom they have not believed?
And how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard? And how
shall they hear without preaching? And how shall they preach unless they
are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those
who preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!’” (Romans
10:14-15 MKJV)
We are here as His representatives to direct you to God. We know the
Way, the Truth, and the Life. We have met Him because He has revealed
Himself to us, and we are here to tell you that if He so chooses, if
He has determined to give you salvation at this time, then you will gladly
hear and receive what we have to say. Our words are life-changing; they
are perfectly able, with faith from God, to bring about the change you
need in your life so as to not perish with the world. If you cannot hear
or receive us, there is no hope for you now; perhaps in another life
or time, but not now. God will make known His will for you plainly enough
to us.
The Issues of Life began, in 2003, with a reader’s response
to our third Harvest Haven Herald. Victor, talking about the
sad state of affairs in the world and Canada, mentioned the legalization
of “gay marriages,” among other things. A complaint soon
followed - “How bigoted you are to speak against ‘gay marriage’!” When
sending his reply, it struck Victor as a God-given opportunity to share
his answer with others, bringing to light the darkness of commonly held
convictions and errors before many.
We recently passed along a notice from one of our customers, giving
people the opportunity to register their disapproval of the Canadian
government’s award of the Order of Canada to a doctor for his work
as an abortionist. This time, several complained. Once again, the complaints
have served as a backdrop for the wisdom and counsel of God to be heard
by many, for which all saints are extremely grateful.
The world praises the one who brings out the best in others, which may
be fine, but the greater need of mankind is that we bring out the worst.
Yes, you red that right.
Those who speak the Truth of God will bring out the worst. An acquaintance
of ours began to believe what we were preaching, which was quite contrary
to her beliefs and practices and those of her family and religious friends
theretofore. When her family became aware of her wanting to join herself
to us, they examined our site and doctrine and were offended; some were
alarmed and came out with threats and curses. Our friend was shocked
and saddened, as she put it, that her sons and daughters and their spouses
would react in such ungodly fashion. After all, she thought to have taught
them differently; they all profess faith in Jesus Christ. Most of them
are members of what are known as Christian churches and Bible-preaching
religious organizations, such as the United Pentecostals and the Foursquare
Gospel. Her youngest is a pastor and fervent in works in the Name of
God. The talks and works are there.
She had always been trying to bring out the best in them, to teach her
children how to believe, speak, and act as Christians, according to her
understanding. Little did she know that what they needed was the Truth
instead of doctrine, substance instead of form, reality instead of religion,
and rebuke instead of praise. Little did she know they needed exposure
instead of display. It was not enough to dress dogs in wool and make
them look like sheep. They needed to be exposed for the dogs they are
and told the truth (that they are dogs and that only the miracle-working,
resurrection power of Jesus Christ could make of them sheep, new creatures
in Christ). Only His righteousness counts, and reasonable facsimiles
will not do.
The truth preached in our letters and on our site told them they were
wrong, in darkness, in error, not within the Kingdom of God, and not
pleasing to God as they suppose (in short, they are dogs), bringing out
the worst in them. To the religious who are consumed by their own righteousness,
their exposure is shocking, but it necessarily manifests the reality
of their state. When the worst comes out, they can decide to continue
therein and grow worse yet, or they can decide to repent and come to
the Lord to be changed, that they might worship Him in spirit and truth
with a new heart, which He alone can give them.
Did not Jesus Christ and His disciples bring out the worst in man? Did
not Jesus warn His disciples that they would be hated by all men as He
was? Did the people not kill them? Yet in the process of their exposure,
salvation came to the killers. Indeed, some experienced a complete reversal
of attitude and action. As the apostle Paul, formerly known as Saul of
Tarsus, wrote to new converts:
“But only they were hearing that he who then persecuted us, now
preaches the faith which he once ravaged. And they glorified God in me” (Galatians
1:23-24 MKJV).
First must the worst be exposed and identified. Only then can the true
solution come. As whitewash covers but does not change, so religion conceals
the corrupt nature while the corruption remains. Only an entire replacement
of an old nature by a new will do. We need men to speak the truth, so
that the worst may come out in those who hear the truth.
A Heinous yet Generally Accepted Social, Economic, and Environmental
Crime
As I write, I hear the roar of crop dusters in our area. It amazes me
how anybody can even conceive the notion that people have the right to
spray their properties from a plane with toxic chemicals, knowing full
well that some of them will carry into their neighbors’ properties.
It is an unconscionable act, and I am perplexed that there are not great
cries of outrage and protest - petitions, marches and all. Indeed, one
wonders how this madness could ever have been permitted. The likely reasons
for the lack of opposition to this crime are ignorance and having so
many other apparently bigger fish to fry. How many people living in cities
actually get to see or experience firsthand the effects of this poisonous
practice? It is out of sight, out of mind. Many do not know or care about
what they are eating and supporting.
And, to be sure, we have many forms of madness, several even worse,
like abortion and vaccinations, but, truly, crop dusting (or crop spraying)
is another abomination to all life.
Many are the stories I have heard of people having damage to their gardens,
trees, and general greenery because of aerial spraying near them. And
how many are those affected in their health? Many of these stories have
come without solicitation or direct discussion of the specific subject.
What is accepted as a necessity or productive agricultural practice
ought to be condemned as a crime, and its perpetrators fined and jailed.
How dare they impose their poisons on those who not only do not want
or need them, but who are harmed by them! Furthermore, nobody needs them.
Crop spraying or dusting occurs often near our community. At one particular
time, a potato crop was being sprayed for insects, and the prevailing
winds brought the visible mist of chemical upon us. Our eyes teared,
our noses and throats reacted, and we were helpless to do anything about
it. What are we supposed to do, keep greenhouses for our gardens and
have gas masks and protective clothing at the ready? What shall we do
for our children? Must we run for our houses, shut off air conditioners
and fans and remain locked up just because the perpetrator seeks to benefit
himself financially, the neighbors be damned? What is this?
At the time this particular spraying occurred, I tried to call whatever
authorities I could think of that were available. I got nowhere. A representative
for a government institution (I don’t remember which) came out
and rather tactfully (he seemed to be coached for such cases) defended
the practice of aerial spraying of pesticides as though I was protesting
people wearing clothing in public. “What’s the big deal?” was
the essence of his attitude, though well masked. To him, I was a fretting
crackpot.
We have people protesting the use of animal fur. We have the SPCA, Greenpeace,
and other organizations taking up the cause of the environment, animal
abuse, and other various issues. How few there are who recognize the
vile, wholesale slaughter of people, animals, greenery, insects and important
microcosms necessary for health and well being by aerial and ground crop
spraying with synthetic pesticides! I say that those responsible for
that kind of crop spraying are guilty of unpremeditated murder. Even
ground, never mind aerial, crop spraying should be counted an indictable
offense. It should be unheard of. Nobody should have to put up with it
any more than they should have to put up with arsonists, vandals and
stalkers.
No wonder we have the high incidence of mental, physical and emotional
diseases. In many and diverse ways, we are destroying ourselves, and
few care to pay any mind. People today are the unquestioning populace
of Logan’s Run, deceived and conditioned to believe the
biggest lies and perishing in the process.
We found your site because it is subtitled with a name (A Path
of Truth) very similar to our own (The Path of the Truth).
What a world of difference a word makes! The Lord Jesus Christ said (not “a” Lord
Jesus Christ; there are many imposters):
“How narrow the gate, and confined the way
which leads to life, and there are few who find it!” (Matthew 7:14
EMTV).
Solomon, in his wisdom from God, wrote this:
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but
the end of it is the ways of death” (Proverbs 16:25 MKJV).
You have been on ways that have seemed right to you, but one after one they
have failed, ending in death. So will your latest way fail too, because it
is a way, not the Way of Truth and Life.
So what is the Way? Is it love? Did God say you could enter His Kingdom
by tapping into the latent power of love within you? Here is what He
says:
“I am the Door. If anyone enters in by Me, he shall be saved and
shall go in and out and find pasture” (John 10:9 MKJV).
Jesus Christ is the Door, the Gate, the Way. He is Love, Keith. You
are looking within yourself to find goodness, love, and God; but He and
His attributes are not there. Here is what the Scriptures, which we have
discovered to be true in every way, say about what is inside you:
Romans 3:10-18 EMTV
(10) Just as it is written: “There is none righteous, no not one,
(11) There is none who understands; there is none who seeks God.
(12) All have turned aside; together they became unprofitable; there is not
one doing kindness, there is not so much as one.”
(13) “Their throat is an opened grave; with their tongues they deceived”; “ the
poison of asps is under their lips”;
(14) “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
(15) Their feet are swift to shed blood;
(16) Ruin and misery are in their ways;
(17) And the way of peace they did not know.
(18) There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
And:
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked;
who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9 MKJV)
Negative thinking? No. Reality. Jesus said of the man who rhetorically
asked whether anything good could come out of Nazareth, “Behold,
an Israelite indeed in whom is no guile!” And it was of this man,
who declared and believed in the Son of God, that Jesus said:
“Most assuredly I say to you, from now on you shall see Heaven
opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of
Man” (John 1:51 EMTV).
Regarding the many ways of which you approve on your site, Keith, we
show the specific faults and errors of many, if not all, on ours. Are
we proving everyone else wrong to be right, or is it because we have
been made right in the Beloved that we show others wrong? As His redeemed,
we confirm what He has shown and told us:
“Then Jesus said to them again, ‘Most assuredly I say to
you, I am the Door of the sheep. All who came before Me are thieves and
robbers, but the sheep did not hear them’” (John 10:7-8 EMTV).
Do you really want to continue being robbed, and to rob others of what
could be theirs if they were turned to and obeyed their rightful Lord?
Hasn’t it been enough already? And forget what all of you could
have, how about simply what you owe Him, your lives?
In this incident in which Jonathan dislocated his elbow, I am taking
stock and realizing the gravity of God’s calling, revelations and
commands. It is serious business. I consider that:
He had to break my leg to get my attention and set me on track.
Now I find Him gently “breaking” Jonathan’s arm
to get his attention.
Did not the Lord wipe out the entire population of earth in Noah’s
day?
Did He not slay Judah’s sons, Er and Onan, for their neglect
and rebellion?
Shall we take a look at the consequences of Abraham’s taking
Hagar to try to help God keep His promise of a son?
Did not Samson lose his eyes because he neglected to obey God after
being pressed for his secret?
Did not Zedekiah have his eyes put out for rebelling against God’s
command?
Did not a prophet get killed by a lion because he disregarded God’s
command?
Did not the Lord have Pilate slay some and mix their blood with their
sacrifices, and did not the tower of Siloam fall on some because of
their unrepentance (Luke 13)?
Did not Rachel die in childbirth because she valued and stole her
father’s gods and lied to both her father and husband about them?
Did not the Lord seek to slay Moses’ son when Moses but neglected
to circumcise him?
Did not David suffer the loss of at least 3, if not 4, sons and 10
concubines, along with many others, for his sin with Bathsheba?
Did not thousands die for murmuring, bitten of serpents?
Did not God slay Nadab and Abihu for offering up strange fire to
Him?
Did not Uzzah die for apparently unintentional irreverence in putting
forth his hand to stabilize the ark?
Did not 36 men of Israel die for Achan’s sin, besides him and
those in his family?
Did not God wipe out Job’s 10 children and many servants?
Did not God ignore all widows but one in Elijah’s day in a
famine?
Did He not ignore all lepers but one in Elisha’s day?
Did He not cause women of His people to kill and to eat their own
children in the siege?
Did not God send fire on Sodom and Gomorrah and utterly destroy them?
Did the Lord not strike Miriam, Moses’ sister no less and a
prophetess, with leprosy for murmuring against Moses?
Did not the Lord open the ground and have Korah, Dathan, and Abiram
swallowed up, with their wives and little ones, for their gainsaying
and murmuring?
Was not Uzziah condemned to leprosy when presumptuous and irreverent?
Were not 42 children destroyed by two she bears when they mocked
a prophet of God?
Did not Jonathan die for standing by his father Saul’s side,
even though he was David’s friend?
Did not the Lord say, by Moses, that those who did not heed “that
prophet” would be destroyed?
Did not the Lord have many young boys die by Herod when he sought
for the Christ child?
Did not God slay Ananias and Sapphira for lying?
What is life to Him? God’s business is serious business. He is
serious with us, and He will not permit our being lackadaisical with
Him. “Behold both the goodness and severity of God.” How
can we not be serious, sober and vigilant in all things?
Let’s consider the present day and the events in our own midst.
What has happened to Howard and Jason Benson, Delores Molnar, Pascal
Gregoire, Stan Howell, and so many others?
Consider the stupid and ignorant notions about the nature and character
of God prevalent in our society today, and the false gospel of mush and
sentimentality all around us? Are those people not perishing? Will they
not perish? Believe it – they will and are!
What will happen to all those who oppose us for righteousness’ sake?
God had shown me the black angels over the neighbor’s house, where
Jonathan was injured. Yes, that was over 18 years ago! So what? No, He
did not give me explicit commands, like, “Don’t go there;
don’t have any more to do with them,” but must He? Shall
we ever be guided by bit, bridle, whip and spur? We are to take heed;
the sooner, the better, the more earnestly, the better. Woe to us if
we do not. Jonathan had no business there, if only because of that revelation,
and especially on the Sabbath, doing what he was doing.
God has not only finished winking with the nations; He has also finished
winking with us. And that is why we must speak up and do His will without
hesitation, ambiguity, or equivocation. This is especially so when given
our great privilege and responsibility we have been granted of God for
this day! Wow! All the more will we be called into account, not in the “by
and by,” but here and now, even as it happened with all those I
have mentioned.
Furthermore, consider how the Lord commanded Israel that when they entered
Canaan, they were to destroy all its inhabitants - men, women and children.
They were to be ruthless. Was God sparing the tender, delicate, pretty
young maid? Was he sparing the suckling? Did He spare any of these in
Sodom and Gomorrah or in Jericho, besides Rahab and her house, who assisted
God’s people?
Did Saul not lose his kingdom because he failed to kill everything living
of the Amalekites and because God had commanded otherwise? What kind
of loving prophet was Samuel, who hewed Agag to pieces with a sword after
Agag pitifully said, “Surely, the bitterness of death is past”?
If God has finished winking, having repeatedly said so, what are we
doing overlooking trespasses and offenses? Are we winking? Is this a
time for winking? Isaiah was told, “Cry aloud, spare not….” Is
not the Spirit of God the same yesterday and today and forever?
All those who took His life were slain and their nation scattered to
the four winds, and what a slaughter that was! And all this was after,
not before, His resurrection and ascension. What kind of teaching is
it that Jesus would never do such things now, and that He is full of
pity and compassion - He wouldn’t hurt a fly? This teaching is
demonic and highly deceptive. Look how it has won the hearts of carnal
men and even deceived the believing.
Does not Scripture declare dire consequences for offenders in this present “dispensation”?
Yes indeed, It does:
“He who despised Moses' Law died without mercy on the word of
two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose,
will he be thought worthy of punishment, the one who has trampled the
Son of God, and who has counted the blood of the covenant with which
he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
For we know Him Who has said, ‘Vengeance belongs to Me, I will
repay, says the Lord.’ And again, ‘The Lord shall judge His
people.’ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living
God” (Hebrews 10:28-31 MKJV).
God made it known very clearly just how serious matters are. He sacrificed
His only begotten Son, that’s how serious matters of our existence
are. Consider also that His life was not taken by a quiet departing in
His sleep or by a merciful bullet to the head or by lethal injection
on a cushioned gurney or even by an efficient hanging. No, He had to
suffer the horrible agony and public humiliation of the cross, no less,
at the hands of brute beasts, with His own people crying for His blood
and His own Father turning His back on Him. “My God, My God, why
have You forsaken Me?”
That is how serious it is; but no, we must spare ourselves the gravity
of life. It is enough we must live it. We must not make it any worse
than it already is (I speak with tongue in cheek) - we must be gentle
and tenderhearted and kind and sympathetic and loving and sweet and understanding
and wise and compassionate and “godly” and “Christlike.”
Devils tie our hands and tape our mouths with sweet, desirable malarkey.
That is Satan’s strategy and his False
Love.
“Make your enemies now,” says the Lord.
“He that keeps his life will lose it,” He says.
“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice as a trumpet
and tell My people their sins,” He cries.
“Spare not,” He declares, but Agag says, “Surely the
bitterness of death is past.”
God says, “Spare not,” but Satan says, “Let’s
love one another.”
God says, “Spare not,” but messengers of Satan, posing as
God’s ministers, choose to flatter and coddle and savor the things
that are of men, and thus he prevails over them to destroy. Get behind
me, Satan! You are an offense to me and to God!
Many professors of Christ proclaim they are believing for their healing
of deadly diseases such as cancer. Why must one believe for something
God gladly gives to His children who obey Him? Must I believe for the
air that I breathe? What is wrong with this picture?
The problem with this kind of believing is that God wants you to trust
and obey Him rather than exert your own willpower. Doing the latter is
flaunting your righteousness before God, trusting in yourself and in
your ability to trust Him. It is a subtle manifestation of self-willed
piety, the very opposite of faith, which is what God wants. Substituting
your works for His faith to get what you want is vile, nothing less than
sorcery. God wants obedience, not sacrifice.
If you are believing Him for healing, thinking that by such a course
you will manifest your healing, you are making sacrifices for what you
want rather than obeying God in what He wants. You are not out to honor
and obey Him as Lord, despite the appearance that deceives yourself and
others. You are only out to use God for your own aggrandizement and to
fulfill your desires. This is rebellion, the sin of witchcraft. It is
effrontery against God.
We were made for God, not for ourselves. Deny this fact by seeking to
save your life and you will lose it. Or, as Jesus said, you can lose
your life for His sake and gain it. You who claim to believe for your
healing are seeking to get from, rather than submit to, God. You are
saving your lives at the expense of His. You have eaten from the Tree
of Knowledge and have had your eyes opened to be as God. You are disconnected
and dead.
And you are not hearing from God. Believing you are or will be healed
is only according to the knowledge of good and evil you have gotten for
yourself contrary to the commandment of God not to eat from that tree.
It is presumptuousness because God has said nothing to you. You have
knowledge, but not of Him, from Him.
All that God requires is that you obey Him. If you obey Him, you don’t
have to claim anything; it is automatically yours:
“He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves
Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will
love him and will reveal Myself to him” (John 14:21 MKJV).
Will the Lord withhold something good from those He loves?
“The Lord God is our sun and our strength: the Lord will give
grace and glory: He will not keep back any good thing from those whose
ways are upright” (Psalms 84:11 BBE).
To such as keep His commandments, it is written:
“For all things are yours: whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas,
or the world or life or death, or things present or things coming--all
things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21-22 EMTV).
But obedience costs your life, and you who claim to believe for your
healing are looking to add to your life, not give it up. You will be
the big hero when you get back from the hospital and go to church, glowing
and demonstrating your righteousness. “Let my light shine,” you
say. “God healed me; look at me, look at my shining skin. Now I
am here to tell everyone!” You will write your book and make your
millions. It is all an ego trip, an investment in self for fame, glory
and prosperity.
The Lord Jesus Christ says that you can't make one hair on your head
black or add one inch to your stature. If you cannot do these things,
neither can you materialize your healing, no matter how hard you believe.
The only viable thing to do is to obey the Lord, which is to commit yourself
to Him as your faithful Creator. You are His property, bought and paid
for.
“And he said, If with all your heart you will give attention to
the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His eyes, giving
ear to His orders and keeping His laws, I will not put on you any of
the diseases which I put on the Egyptians: for I am the Lord your Life-Giver” (Exodus
15:26 BBE).
Jesus Christ paid the price, and those who will enter life must pay
the price. There is nothing worthwhile gained in this world or the next
without paying the price. Those who believe will pay it.
Religion is about a free ride. Those who are religious want the glory
without the cross. That is what religion is all about, be it Christianity,
Islam, Buddhism, Catholicism, Mormonism, or any other.
Reality is about paying the price for Christ’s sake, about laying
down the life. There is no other way to true victory, fulfillment,
gain and peace.
God - He it is that gives and takes away. He gave the land to the Jews many
times and He took it away. When He takes away, no nation or people, Jew or
Gentile, no matter how numerous or militarily powerful or superior in any earthly
way, can keep anything or retrieve it once gone, if God determines to take
it or keep it away. If they get it back, it will only be because He gave it
back, not Herzl, Ben Gurion, Sharon, Meir, Weizmann, Balfour, Allenby, Churchill,
Bush, or any other.
On the other hand, when He gives (and He has given the land back to the Jews
in our day - and will give yet more) they need not worry or fear, because no
nation(s) or people(s) can neutralize His will. The entire Arab/Muslim populace
can do nothing; Europe can do nothing; China or Russia can do nothing, nor
can any other, even if they were all united together as one against the Jews
and Israel to withstand God's sovereign will.
Israel, Zionists, Jews can be thankful to have America and Bush standing with
and for them but it is not necessary. God can very easily do without them.
If His choice is to do with them, fine; if without, that should be fine too,
if not better. It also seems to me that if He has decided to restore Israel
to the Jews after 2000 years (2500 without sovereignty), He is not about to
let it go again.
The question is, where is Israel's or the Jews' trust placed? Where is the
faith in the God of Israel (not that God needs it)? Believe in your God, Israel! “How
long will you halt between two opinions?”
- Victor Hafichuk (May 20, 2008)
Almost seven years ago we met a man claiming to be the Messiah. He went
by the name of “Michael Travesser,” the assumed name of Wayne
Bent, the same person that was in the news this week as the “leader
of an apocalyptic cult” arrested in New Mexico on unspecified charges.
There is talk of child molestation, which Bent denies, though he does
admit to having slept with three of his followers’ wives, including
his son’s, at the direction of God and the instigation of the women.
(“The man said, ‘The woman whom You gave to be with me, she
gave me of the tree, and I ate’” Genesis 3:12 HNV – only
these were not the women God gave to Wayne.)
While it is easy to dismiss such antics as those of a delusional sociopath,
people who have tried talking to Wayne and his followers have found themselves
unable to effectively argue against their delusion. In this string of
correspondence, we show Wayne how he is wrong according to the Scriptures
he used to justify his sins, while exposing his arrogant, wrongheaded
manner for all to see.
You know what their problem is, completely? It is not us, not lack
of knowledge, not persecution, not Christianity, not Muslims, not descendants
of Ishmael,
not Middle East real estate, not a false witness of Christ or the preaching
of a false Christ. It is that they reject Jesus Christ, case closed. They
were the ones who started it all. Little did they know that those they
persecuted
would grow, if only in name, to far outnumber them and have the tables turned
on them. Their hatred, rejection and persecution of the Messiah and His own
backfired on them. And the fruits of their planted seeds are great and heavy.
Yet, that is the way God has set it all up, beginning with salvation
of the Gentiles.
We have been having a discussion on a few blogs about our new article, The
Murderer John Calvin. Here is a link to one of the more prominent
ones. The conversation starts at “When Were You Saved?” and
continues through “Hijacked by Cultists”:
Common nominal Christian assumption, spoken or otherwise, is that wolves
can be changed to sheep, but such was never meant to be. The wolf, under
God, will remain a wolf but be reconciled with the lamb. How? By God’s
power and not by our works. As for those wolves who try to be sheep and
fail, the issue is not so much that the wolf is changed to something
else, as we have surmised and as the wolf has insisted he should or will,
but that the wolf will stop trying to not be a wolf. Therefore, there
are two changes to come for wolves: one, they will cease trying to be
something they are not, and, two, God will change them into “good” wolves,
but they will remain wolves, as Isaiah testifies:
“Also the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall
lie down with the kid; and the calf and the cub lion and the fatling
together; and a little child shall lead them” (Isaiah 11:6 MKJV).
Practical Proof of the Spiritual Value of the Word of God
I have been reading Through the Valley of the Kwai by Ernest
Gordon; this is the book that the movie To End All Wars was
based on. What an excellent example of what the influence of faith and
of the Scriptures can do, both collectively and in an individual soul.
I have quoted in the following article some excerpts.
The scene is a Japanese prison camp in WWII. The author is writing from
personal first-hand experience and describing how the prison went from
being a moral mess (as described in the first excerpt) to being a place
where the prisoners had hope and purpose in helping others. Read for
yourself:
Hi Kim (the Kim that spoke to us of Dena’s testimony),
We have tried to locate you according to your husband’s name
and have thus far been unsuccessful. We want to thank you for getting
in touch with us and telling us what you did. If we appeared defensive,
we apologize. If we are defensive and thinking we are better than anybody
else, we are wrong, dead wrong. While the Lord has done things for us,
there is nothing to be proud of, as if there is any virtue with us, and
if we are defensive, then He hasn’t done as much as we need, or
perhaps as much as we think He has.
Please do not be afraid to tell us what you will, and thank you for
being honest. We think you are right that Dena came across as the wronged
one, without fessing up to all her wrongs, which is what a true and decent
testimony is more about, and less of telling the sins of others. Because
of your input, we have taken measures to tell “the rest of the
story,” and Dena has now revised her testimony.
If you have more to say, please e-mail or press the chat button again.
The Lord give you the grace to do what is right. We hope to hear you
out in all patience, honesty, and without bias.
It is my desire that Truth be served and nothing else.
I have just written a paper about the false prophet, John
Calvin, and in discussion with Victor, he said:
“No Calvinists are we, nor any -ists, unless we are nonists! A
new word, a new category, a new ID, a new thing.
The Lord is doing a new thing.”
Our identities and lives are in Him, not in our doctrines or denials
of false doctrine. All of those things, good and necessary as they are,
are derived from our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes, it is an exclusive cult, which by nature says “no” to
everything of man, and “yes” to everything of God. This is
that well-known yet secret, narrow way in which you will find life.
I do not wish to put my trust in man’s assurance that he, at a
price and to his profit, will grudgingly compensate me for losses should
calamity strike. Rather, I wish to put my trust in the One Who, for my
sake, freely prevents damage.
Should He permit damage to occur for my heart’s sake, I can be
assured that He will generously replenish in due time. I also know He
will be faithful to provide all my needs in the interim.
If, in His wisdom, He should determine that I should suffer loss, what
man or insurance program is there that can prevent Him? On the other
hand, if I have no insurance or men appointed to guard me from damage
or loss, but God chooses to favor me, will He not keep me? Plainly, this
is a matter of faith.
Oh, the complications men create for themselves when straying from the
Path of Truth! They get entangled in thick undergrowth, brambles and
thornbushes, and wander aimlessly without the compass of truth, having
lost their way. They struggle and shout at each other, saying, “It’s
this way or that…” but all are hopelessly lost until they
cry out to the Maker of all things, Who has left them in their chosen
devices and confusion until they have had enough and cry out to Him for
deliverance and enlightenment.
The Anglican Church is one such case, but is representative, in substance,
of all formal, organized religions, be they in Christ’s Name or
any other, all faltering and failing, destroying themselves for lack
of knowledge. We speak knowledge that they might know the Truth and be
made free. Jesus Christ is that Truth, the Way and the Life.
“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 EMTV).
I have not wanted to be doctrinal, yet doctrine is important. True doctrine
is fruit, coming from faith. When we give the fruit, people shy away,
as if we call it the branch or the trunk. Yet if they were to eat the
fruit, they would be nourished.... What are they looking for - nice words?
Sympathy? “Compassion”?
The Human Rights Commission in Alberta, Canada has had its way and its
day. Their apparent goal or at least evident result? Shut down all expression
that runs contrary to Acceptable Speech. Even if one speaks honestly
and truthfully, yet offends Muslims or homosexuals, intentionally or
otherwise, that one will need to watch out lest he (or she - lest we
offend feminists) be dragged before the HRC, caused to pay fines to the
offended party, and issue a public apology. No trial, no qualified judge,
no jury, no justice, no appeal for the defendant, and no cost or risk
to the complainant. The commissioner judges the heart and motive, and
her judgment is irrevocable. Freedom of speech and religion in Canada
are now Passenger Pigeons.
Watch a few of the segments of Ezra Levant’s interrogation, because he
ran the Danish cartoons depicting Muhammad in his paper, Western Standard:
This is no different than that which took place in the days of the Inquisition
and the Reformation under the dominion of the Catholic Church. I guess there
is one difference - that being that, back then, they could burn a person at
the stake for their contrary viewpoints. (If given power to do so, do you really
think it would be different today? Obviously, you have good cause to think
again).
We have recently become aware of one saint who was burned at the stake not
under the Catholic Church, but by the “Reformer” John Calvin. We
will be writing more of the implications of the death of Michael Servetus in
days to come. Keep watch for it under “What’s New?”

David Butterfield, of davidjbutterfield.blogspot.com,
challenges us: “Can you find a single instance
in Scripture where Jesus or even just one of the Apostles commanded Christians
to keep the Old Testament law?”
We answer:
“Master, which is the great commandment in the Law? Jesus said to him,
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second
is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang
all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:36-40 MKJV).
The last sentence tells us that the Lord has indeed not done away with
the Law (just as He said He had not come to do -see below), but that
the way of fulfilling it was not found in the legalistic spirit and approach
of the Pharisees. Nevertheless, the Law is good, Paul writes,
if a man uses it lawfully (1 Timothy 1:8). It is still required of those
that name His Name to fulfill the Law:
“Do not think that I have come to destroy the Law or the Prophets.
I have not come to destroy but to fulfill” (Matthew 5:17 MKJV).
So now you have two confirming instances of where Jesus
said that those who follow Him are required to fulfill the OLD
TESTAMENT LAW, apart from the ceremonial and sacrificial (and
seconded by the apostle Paul). Did not Jesus say your righteousness would
have to exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees in
their keeping of the Old Testament Law (Matthew 5:20)?
There, you have three.
There are many more such Scriptures, this is but a sample. For more
teaching on this matter, go to Law and Grace.
We hand-delivered a letter to the front desk of Erin Hafichuk’s
place of work on December 27, 2007, in response to rumors we had heard
of Erin’s speaking against us. We are not afraid of the truth (indeed,
we are thankful for it) and are ready to stand up to the evil coming
our way.
We have been engaged in an on-going and intense discussion with professors
of Christ who dispute God's sovereignty and His ability to deliver on
His promises. It makes for some very interesting reading as the contradiction
of their claims to believe in the Lord Jesus are contrasted with His
words, acts, and ways.
Here is the blog address. The top two blog postings contain the discussion;
to access the comments (where things have been happening), go to the “(#)
comments” link under each posting. You can read the conversation
in chronological order if you start at “Path of Truth?” and
then move to “Heresy: The Sequel.”
“But Saul all the more was growing strong, and was confounding
the Jews who were dwelling in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the
Christ” (Acts 9:22 EMTV).
“For he was powerfully refuting the Jews publicly, demonstrating
by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Messiah” (Acts 18:28 EMTV).
Yes, it is Who is the Christ, and the answer is, of
course, “the Lord Jesus.” However, we can also ask What is

It is said that one person’s “terrorist” is another’s “freedom
fighter”; one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure;
and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No two translators will
give an identical message, and no two witnesses will report a matter
identically. One may try to be objective. “I will see things from
his point of view,” says one sincerely in pursuit of objectivity.
Unless he is prepared to betray and deny himself, and be another, or
be at another’s complete disposal, how can one possibly see anything
as does another? Unless they are the same person, with the same input
of influence, emotion, knowledge and experience, and, indeed, of the
same nature, can anyone be truly objective?
That is why the new birth changes everything, if indeed a true new birth
it is. Being born of God, one will begin to see things as God sees them,
and to think as God thinks. They are now one in spirit and nature, the
fruit more evident as time passes. There is no other way to see as another.
Until that new birth, it is impossible for one to be “objective” concerning
matters pertaining to God. One will have his perspective and opinions
growing out of the varied knowledge and experiences of others, with limited
information, misinformation, bias, ignorance, imaginations, and selfish
desire. But when the person denies himself and dies to himself, accepting
the mind and will of another, then he becomes “objective,” that
is, he sees as another sees, not preferring his own way, but that of
another.
Objectivity ought never to be adopted by submitting to how another human
being perceives things, if contrary to how the one adopting has seen
them. To do so sincerely would require nothing less than to put full
faith in that other, in short, worship another. No human being on earth
deserves that kind of trust or respect, not the best husband, wife, boss,
religious leader or any other. Even if that person trusted remains true
to his or her position, is there any guarantee he or she is right? If
he or she is right, is there any guarantee he or she will continue to
be right on that matter, much less be right in all? Only with God is
there true guarantee. Only with God is there a sure footing to warrant “objectivity.”
What is that? One dictionary defines it as “judgment based on
observable phenomena and uninfluenced by emotions or personal prejudices.” Obvious
emotions and prejudices aside, are we not all influenced one way or another
to see things as we do?
Is God “objective” or does He see things His way only? Can
unregenerate mankind be nonpartisan? Is it capable of true justice? Will
a Catholic or Mormon judge, district attorney, or crown prosecutor, for
example, be impartial when charges are brought against a religious group,
whose doctrine, lifestyle, and belief are not in harmony with theirs?
How can it be? Unless a judge is plainly, publicly constrained by the
letter of the law to pronounce sentence, knowing there are consequences
not acceptable to him if he should be inconsistent with the law, chances
are he will find as he sees fit.
History is brimming with decisions, judicial, political, economic, social,
or otherwise, especially in the name of religion, which are anything
but “objective,” whatever that means. These decisions are
made by all classes and levels, right up to the highest authorities in
the land.
Does objectivity preclude having my own perspective? Must I be the common
politician who does not his own will, but the will of the people who
elect him? Why should I be willing to see things everybody’s way
at once? How can I? Of course, objectivity in itself does not mean that
I see things everybody’s way, but that I am willing to let a judgment
be in favor of those with whom I do not necessarily agree on other matters
or even the matter in question, as long as they are right or their cause
is just, assuming there is a “right way” of seeing things.
Objectivity is a pipe dream that can only be otherwise if defined in
the context of truth, which is of certain definition and standard, and
not something “objective.” God’s mind and law take
precedence over man’s. Without the knowledge of God, man is a brute
beast, pleasing his passions, however refined, educated, and objective
they may seem to be.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish
despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7 HNV).
We rarely mention our worldly business on this site, for the obvious
reason that it is not normally related to the subject matter at hand.
But we have also been reticent to talk about it because we have wanted
to avoid all appearances of using this site to gain business. However,
we have had little cause to worry. What has been more common is that
we lose customers when we speak out on matters of life in our business
newsletter, as you will see in this posting: What
Is Important?
We are very thankful for this honor because we are not talking religion,
but Reality and Life for everyone, by the Lord Jesus Christ, with Whom
we are most desirous to identify, though undeserving of the immense privilege.
Dick Deweert, founder of The Miracle Channel in Lethbridge, Alberta was
caught in an extra-marital affair. He resigned as president, and his
wife, Joan Deweert, also resigned in order to stand with her husband.
Here is Victor's response to the situation: The
Exposure of Dick Deweert
Also read the prophecy the
Lord gave Victor in 1997 for all religious people everywhere, which was
inspired by Victory Church, home of The Miracle Channel.
Last week, I was having some pretty sharp pain in my back. I knew it
was not anything serious or of concern, but it was sharp enough to
prevent me from sitting or standing comfortably (and any kind of twisting
motion
was excruciating). I suffered through the
Sabbath, thinking it would
go away, but awoke on Sunday with more pain. During prayer before breakfast,
I asked the Lord to show me if there was anything I should do for it.
I did not want to go to a chiropractor, as it seemed like too much fuss,
and I was quite busy with my work. I immediately saw a vision of me laying
on the floor, and Paul standing on my back. When I told Paul about it,
he said we should do that, and I felt the same way. Later that afternoon,
we did. Paul stood on my back (but not with all his weight), gently pushing
with his foot up and down my spine. When I got up, the pain was gone,
and I had full flexibility back.
Many say that we are in the last days, as if this is a new thing. When
exactly did the last days begin, and what are they all about? The answer
is in the Scriptures:
“[Jesus Christ] having been foreknown indeed before the foundation
of the world, He was made manifest in these last times for you” (1
Peter 1:20 EMTV).
“Little children, it is the last hour; and as you were given word
that the antiChrist would come, so now a number of antiChrists have come
to you; and by this we are certain that it is the last hour” (1
John 2:18 BBE).
The last times have come when Jesus Christ is made manifest to you,
and the last hour is when the antiChrist is revealed to you. AntiChrist
is a spirit - the spirit of men who worship God, but not in Spirit and
Truth, as spoken of by Jude to true worshippers:
“But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken beforehand
by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how they told you that in the
last time there would be mockers, walking according to their own ungodly
lusts. These are those who cause divisions [denominations], worldly,
not having the Spirit” (Jude 1:17-19 EMTV).
When you fully see the antiChrist, it is because you have seen and are
of the Christ, Who has opened your eyes. You will have entered the last
days, and have been brought to your end. Henceforth Satan, who comes
as an angel of light, is no longer hidden from your eyes. The last hour
has come; you are in and of the new world, the Kingdom of God, and you
bring the last days for others.
We recently received the above lyrics and link to the Bob Dylan song, “Neighborhood
Bully.” How true it is that the world looks upon a small land and
people as the instigator of trouble, when the record shows that the opposite
is true!
On this site you will find the spiritual Food that raises men from the
dead, which comes by the truth we speak about all men, including yourself.
For speaking thus we are also called “bullies,” but know
this: A bully seeks his own, belittling others to make himself larger,
whereas a friend seeks your welfare, acting
at his expense to enrich others. Only the truth will make you free.
The Secret is storming the world. It is the same, age-old philosophy
and science falsely called, saying, “You can lift yourself up by
your own bootstraps if you believe and do it right.” Multitudes,
with money in hand, flock to these teachings, because they seek only
gain, and do not have the heart for the truth, which is free and which
would make them free indeed, if they believed. I was there too until
God gave me the grace to know that He (The Truth) was much better.
Pursuing the false, people are disappointed, disillusioned, disenfranchised,
dismayed and disgruntled. Some walk away wealthy by selling the idea.
This process repeats itself time and time again with nobody bettered,
especially not even the slick, though sincere salespeople.
